Solid. Up in Holly Springs for work. I have been to a couple of these before, but generally Davis drive in Cary (Morrisville? who knows). Anyway, the service is always great. Was thinking that they would not be as nice as the regular spot, because i, well frequent it. Far from the truth. They were all very nice. The girl serving me at the bar was newish, as she didn't speak English as a first language, but i also appreciated that, because Spanish is my second (ish) language Pocito, lol, and she spoke to me mostly in Spansih. food was solid. I did notice, however, that the spicy salsa (you have to ask for it), was not as hot as I was expecting. Might be just a milder batch, or just a change for the day... or the HS clientele is from NE. I did however get the spicy steak tacos with the rice and beans, and they were packed. I am lucky that I got the lunch portion, as the dinner would have put me out for the rest of the day. Staff here is absolutely lovely - we were greeted with nothing but smiles while here. I sat at the bar for a quick drink, the bartender was never far away and checked in several times in case we needed anything. The waiters nearby were a pleasure to chat and interact with, even though they weren't our servers. The staff here took my visit above and beyond tonight, but i'll be back for the ambience and to try out their food as well! Great place to grab a marg/dinner before the movie theatre next door! Grabbed dinner from here and was really disappointed, especially considering that we had such a great experience at the Mi Cancun in Morrisville. The restaurant was very busy at 5 PM on a Saturday, but we were seated immediately, so no complaints there. There were a few random service issues throughout the meal, like the salsa not being delivered with the chips and the table missing a salt shaker, but overall service wasn't bad. The food just wasn't that good, though! The refried beans were honestly a little gross, which was much different than our Morrisville Mi Cancun experience, where they were delicious. Their color was off and the consistency was just a little too liquid-y. My tacos were fine but for $17 they did feel overpriced. My wife got the spinach chicken, just like at the other location, but it was prepared differently and just seemed significantly worse. Personally, I would never come back here, but maybe we just got unlucky. read more

We had lunch here for the first time on January 13, 2025 around 11:45 am. We were seated promptly at table A47. Chips and salsa arrived shortly afterwards. The salsa was very bland so we asked if they offered a spicier version. They brought out two other salsas. One was a smoky tasting chipotle and while it was ok, it definitely wasn't spicy. The service here feels very rushed as the waiter seemed to try to take our order immediately after we sat down. After only a minute or two he was back asking for the order. By the third time we just placed the order. I tried the regular combo which comes with rice and beans. The crunchy taco (ground beef) was tasty but their was apx 1/4 meat, tiny lettuce and I put salsa on it and added some. Beans and rice to bilk it up. My husband had the spicy tacos. They are very small corn tortillas with steak, red tomatillo sauce, onions and cilantro. For $10.49 it was not very filling. But the flavor was good. Thank goodness he had chips and salsa. They have a good happy hour so in the future we might try that and see if we have a different experience. The restaurant is very clean and has nice ambience. Be aware of your bill when you go here! I took my daughter for lunch and when we received the bill, I noticed I was overcharged for my entree. I asked the server about it and he came back with the bill and it was $10 MORE (it should have been $37, when I received it, it was $40, then when he brought it back, it was $50!). He had gone back and charged me twice for queso. I took it to the register and he gave me $7 cash. I told him that's fine but it doesn't account for the tax from the queso (which was $6.99) and that only brought the bill down to $43 and it should have been $37. He rolled his eyes and handed me a $5 bill. I ended up handing him the !5 back and just didn't leave a tip in the CC bill. So bizarre... The food is really good here but please, please pay attention to your bill! read more

I agree with other reviews that the chips were flavorless despite having seasoning on it. We got the queso which was good with the spicy salsa in it. I got the spicy margarita which was good. I place a few take out orders a week for lunch. Over the last few weeks it's hit or miss. You never know when you're getting chips and salsa. I ordered a dinner and recieved a lunch. The manager made it right. This last time ordered a fajita burrito. Supposed to come with melted cheese and red Sauce on top and when I got back to work it was plain. No toppings. Mi Cancun is usually my go to restaurant for Mexican food but this location was not as great as the Raleigh or Morrisville location because of the service. The servers were slow, inattentive, mixed up orders, and there were hair in 2 plates of food we ordered and 1 plate came out 15 minutes after everyone else's which is pretty long when you're out eating. We did come with a large party but with multiple servers helping they service was pretty poor especially when we only ordered 1 appetizer and only entrees, not anything crazy. However, I will say their food is always good nonetheless and they have a large menu to choose from. The queso is good and thick and the chips are hot and crispy with tasty salsa. The carne asada is always good and so is the ACP. Since I come here quite often I figured I'd add some tips.. TIPS: -I got chipotle chicken and shrimp and added pineapple bits to mine and asked for chipotle cream instead of the chipotle sauce it came with because the cream is tastier and thicker than the sauce which is thin. -Some locations offer lamb shanks which are super amazing but this one did not. But try it at another location! -Check in for free queso! -Get their deluxe tacos instead of their street tacos. -I also normally add pineapple bits to my ACP when I get it and the hint of sweetness really adds to the plate. I decided to try this location after not knowing really what I wanted .. based on reviews. I like the decor of this location.. and they have outside dining available.. great place to take date or family night .. what ever your preference is .. this place would be a hit! This was our first time and our last time attempting to eat here! The food was not good at all! Here is what was wrong: 1.) The food was at room temperature despite ordering hot dishes. 2.) Everything was over cooked and mushy ( rice tasted like steel cut oatmeal) 3.) All the main dishes were bland and had no taste. 4.) The tacos were wet and the shells were soggy 5.) The chicken had a weird taste in all 3 dishes This was truly a waste of money for me!
