This was my first time trying this location, and I had a great experience! I called ahead to place my order and ordered the chicken ACP. The employee told me it would be ready in about 5 minutes, and believe it or not, it was actually ready in 5 minutes! I was really impressed with how quick and efficient the service was. My order was ready when I arrived, which made the whole pickup process easy and convenient. The chicken ACP was fresh, hot, and flavorful, and the portion was satisfying as well. Four of us were here for dinner. We have been here many times over the last 5 years and enjoyed the food....until today. The beans are different, the sauce on the burrito is different, the tostada was not edible at all, the chips were not very good, etc. The service was good and they were decorated for Halloween. I usually love Mi Cancun in Morrisville, so I decided to try the Apex location. The food was okay! I had chicken tacos with soup on the side. The soup was way too salty, while the chicken seemed to have no salt at all, so the flavors felt unbalanced. Service could definitely be better. This is Mi Cancuns newest restaurant in this area. We love their Morrisville location a lot. The Sweetwater complex is big, new and beautiful, there are a number of restaurants, shops and hangout places for kids and adult. The restaurant itself is small and a little conjusted, the seating is crowded, or may be the seats that we got felt very claustrophobic. The decoration and overall ambiance is average. The service is really good, not as fast as other Mexican places but still good, the people are nice, warm and helpful. The manager kept coming to our table and checking on us, my daughter dropped her glass of water and the waiters gladly helped clean it up. We ordered pollo chipotle, kids chicken quesadillas and Chilaquiles. The rice beans and guacamole was absolutely amazing but the chicken was a little chewy for my taste. At other locations the chilaquile they serve has a bed of nachos covered with chicken and sauce, but at this location they just put everything in separate lines which we did not like much. The cocoktail was good. The best food item was their freshly fried hot and crispy complimentary nachos and salsa. It's new so I will give it sometime to settle in and make changes. Located in the Sweetwater community, this Mi Cancun is similar to other like restaurants. Although it was busy on a Sunday evening, our party of three adults and two children were seated right away, Service was fast and efficient, definitely kid-friendly. Food was typical Mexican fare although other options are available. Our four year old chose the hamburger and a fruit plate. The fruit plate was really nice. We chose a variety of dishes... burrito, tacos, shrimp, chicken and rice. The complementary chips and salsa was good. We chose to have the guacamole made side table. That was really fresh and tasty. After eating here in person recently, I need to lower my rating just a tad. The parking lot is reasonably busy but nothing too crazy. We were seated immediately and chose to sit outside, but I slightly regretted that decision because the background music was quite loud. The food arrived extremely quickly and was tasty, but the server got my drink order wrong. I thought everything was priced fairly. We are fans of Mi Cancun and we're excited to see the new one opening up the road from us in Sweetwater. The restaurant is very well decorated and the staff is almost too accommodating, they really do take it to another level of attention. We have ordered the Fajitas, enchiladas as well as Nachos appy. All the food is delicious as it is all over with this chain. But when did Mexican food get expensive. I mean damn, it used to be the low cost dine in or take away option now I'm dropping almost $100 for 4 of us. Changing times I guess. We will frequent but just as frequently. read more

This was our first time trying out a Mi Cancun and we selected the Apex location in the new Sweetwater development. The atmosphere was bright and colorful, and the service was good. The restaurant seemed clean, but the first thing we noticed is that our drinks stuck to the table, you could move them, but they were noticeably sticking. I am thinking perhaps it is the varnish on the table that makes them stick. I ordered the Shrimp Enchiladas Verdes, however, they seemed more like a soft taco as they were not rolled like an enchilada, but folded over like a soft taco (see pic). And they were not filled with any sauce, but with just shrimp and onions, folded over, and some green sauce, cheese, onion, and cilantro on top. The taste was fine, but I was hoping for a nice saucy enchilada, rolled like every other enchilada I have ever eaten, and filled with a nice sauce that you could eat with the rice. My husband had the California burrito. It was not wrapped well as when he went to pick it up to eat, it just kinda fell apart so he had to use a knife and fork to eat it. I did like the selection of sides which include rice and beans, chicken soup, organic spring mix salad, sweet corn on the cob, or esquite. I got the rice and beans, they were good, but is was the smallest portion of rice I have ever received at a Mexican restaurant. read more

This is another location for the Mi Cancun restaurants in the Triangle area. There are many familiar faces here with the staff and they do exceptionally well once again. Food is always delicious and there are some new to me items on this menu compared to their other locations. I haven't had a dish I didn't like, but I do suggest you order something different every time you go in order to find your favorites. Some of my favorite meals are: Carnitas Chori pollo Carnitas enchiladas Tiras de pollo Chicken soup Carne asada Camerones chipotle & cheese Saturday night margarita special is the day to go. Drinks are always well crafted and delicious. Dining room is fun and festive. Bar is large and well equipped. The communication was hard at best, they could not understand what i was saying when I asked why a double shot of Jack Daniel's was $19. He tried to explain but i have never been charged that much, even airports. You can buy a bottle for $27. The whole experience was not good. Over priced and I will never go back. Mi Cancun is an extremely well run restaurant and has some of the best and fastest service I've ever encountered. The food is generally very good and standouts like the carne asada and enchiladas make this my go to Mexican restaurant in the Apex area. The vibe is very much a Mexican restaurant, and it's decorated as such with bright colors and music. It's a busy but fun atmosphere and I haven't ever had to wait for a table. read more

Ordered takeout and was majorly disappointed. What happened to this location? When it first opened was fantastic, but has gone seriously downhill. The food had very little flavor and chicken was hardly cut on my ACP. Not to mention is was tough meat. Additionally the chips were definitely over done and nearly burnt. I have been to the Mi Cancun locations in Holly Springs and Morrisville but this is easily the worst. Will be taking my business elsewhere. Shame. read more

We ordered Mi Cancun for the first time ever tonight. We thought it would be similar to most of the mexican restaurants in the area. What can I say, big disappointment. The food was lacking in some serious favor. Probably some of the worst Mexican food I have had in my 50 years on this world. I ordered a California burrito with chicken. There was more rice and beans in the burrito than chicken and there was no sauce on the top (menu said it would have chipotle sauce on top). This was very sad. My wife and daughter ordered taco salads and both said they were not very good. The quality of ingredients was lacking compared to other Mexican restaurants in area. This was a one and done for Mi Cancun. Hope you don't waste your money there. (They are more expensive compared to other Mexican returns in area). read more
