Found this place during a layover at JFK. I ordered the barbacoa burrito with a side of chips and salsa. It was convenient where you can order online with the QR code, but I realized that you get your food quicker if you order directly with the waitress (not super busy when I was there). The chips were cold and pretty sure the salsa is pace from the jar. I would skip that. The burrito itself is not terrible. It was warm with lots of sour cream and chunks of meat unevenly distributed. Overall, fine to consume but will not recommend. On the plus side, the waitress was really nice. read more

Spouse and I are flying via JFK abroad. Lunchtime. Want healthy-ish food, and we recognize we're at an airport. After looking at some other menus, we choose Micasa Mexican Cantina. Computer display menu doesn't work so I ask a preparer who tells me to order at the bar. We both get the healthiest dish on the menu: Gringo bowl. White rice, crushed corn tortilla chips, iceberg lettuce, black beans, grated cheeses, and if you look hard, some sautéed vegetables. That's as good as it gets here. I put plenty of hot sauce on, and it tasted ok. Hit the spot. Filled us up. 2 x $14. Nice beer selection, but the cheapest draft was $14.49, cheapest bottle/can $12.09. So, immediately after I exited my flight from Las Vegas, I was ravenous... Sooooo needless to say lol there are no pictures. Mi Casa (the tortilla and burrito side that is located in the JFK airport) has two self serving kiosk, that allows for efficient ordering. I ended up deciding on the pollo burrito which was just okay. One thing that I notated and enjoyed about the burrito was that they fried the tortilla after everything was put inside of the burrito, which reminded me of chalupas from back in my childhood days. However, given the pricing (about $22 ish dollars) the burrito was small (maybe 60 percent of the width of a Chipotle burrito). Overall, this was just an average experience. read more

You scan the menu, order online, you remind them you ordered and paid so many minutes ago then they drop off your order without any follow up. The bowl was satisfying. The scrambled eggs were very artificial and chunky, but otherwise, all the ingredients were tasty. The black beans were savory and well seasoned. The hash brown was crispy and buttery. They included a generous portion of guacamole for an added fee. They have a row of backless stools for seating at a countertop. A little awkward to face the crowds walking by while chowing down, but a better option than balancing your food on your lap while waiting at your gate. read more

The food and service is terrible! Ate here at a 4 person table to work and eat my lunch during a layover 10 mins after i finished eating I was asked to move to the bar and not take up a big table even though the whole place was empty! Then at the bar I was rudely told I had to order something even after I just paid $40 for a drink and quesadilla at the other table i was sitting at. When i only ordered a drink the rude server said I have to order food like I didn't just eat! Honestly the servers made me feel uncomfortable and seemed like they were discriminating against me. This table is showing three empty tables that they refuse to let us sit at even after I disclose that both of us are disabled and overwhelmed, and really needing assistance. Apparently, when you order from one part of the restaurant you're not allowed to sit at certain tables, but if you order another part of a restaurant, you are allowed to sit at those tables, but there's no signage and barely any humans to help because you have to order through a computer, and even after asking for a manager and disclosing, how overwhelmed I was by the situation, I was told absolutely not an escorted away from the empty tables that were dirty, even though I was willing to clean one just to sit at it with my child. I disclosed that we are both Autistic and disabled and that I needed desperately to rest. That we arrived from the first plane in wheelchairs and I needed a chair with a back to sit and eat. I had just spent almost $50 and was in tears. She had absolutely no empathy or understanding. We both are wearing sunflower lanyards that airport employees are supposedly trained on to provide additional support. She kept directing us to some food court that was in the opposite direction of our gate. I am alone with an Autistic kid and my hands literally full of our stuff trying to hard to hold it together. I asked if there was a manager. She said she is the manager. I asked how I can leave feedback for the company about how the policies are impacting their disabled customers. She refused to help me find a website and said the feedback can only be done through a receipt. I said I didn't know where mine was at this point as I was barely holding it together. She would not help me give feedback. I never yelled, I just asked for help and tried to keep it together in front of my kid. This was one of the absolutely worst and most ableist experiences I have had anywhere. The lack of empathy was chilling. She said that it wasn't fair to let us sit there because the servers need to be tipped. I was always starting to walk away at this point but I was shocked! I wouldn't have thought of eating at a table without leaving a tip!! The only reason I didn't order at the bar is because I have my child with me and I thought it was just for ordering alcohol! The women we ordered from were very kind and helping me navigate the menu with our allergies and made sure to double check that we didn't get gluten which we can't have, but then things really deteriorated after that and this has been really challenging. read more
