    fresh toppings

This place has a fast casual takeout station for quick service as well as a dine-in section with a bar if you want to stay awhile. I had a really good breakfast burrito at the location in LGA, so I was excited to try this one too. I ordered a bowl with Mexican rice, black beans, carnitas, and various fresh toppings. Everything was seasoned well. Vegetables were crisp. All the salsas have good flavor. The habanero is spicy but not insane. Service was working hard and very efficient. Love this place!!

I ordered the Ranch water and it was perfectly made. My husband got a Dos Equis. I got the burrito bowl with chicken and my husband got the carnitas tacos. Moises was a gentlemen and made sure we were very well taken care of. Very attentive and my cup was never empty.

The hostess greeted me warmly and allowed me to browse the menu at my leisure without feeling rushed. The seating was spacious, and the self-serve bar area offered plenty of room. The decor and vibe evoked an early 60s charm, though the playlist featuring early 2000s hits was a quirky mismatch, yet, honestly, it grew on me and seemed to add a lively edge to the meal. The menu was straightforward, offering a tempting selection of chicken sandwiches and biscuit dishes. After some thought, I settled on the chicken ranch, it was ready in less than five minutes! The "Porch Sipper" drink was delightful; I ended up ordering a second, as its flavors transported me to open Kentucky fields, sitting on a wraparound porch on a warm summer day, savoring the music and gazing at the blue summer sky. The experience was truly immersive. And I must say, the staff radiated positive energy, they seemed genuinely happy to be there, which makes a difference when dealing with thousands of travelers daily. Jacob's Pickles is definitely a must-visit spot when passing through JFK Terminal 5.

They said "let me check" and looked for what was apparently our waiter. Still nothing. Finally, about 5 minutes later, we ordered. I then watched people sit after we did and began getting their drinks. We still had nothing. Had to ask 3 times only to be told let me check. The drinks finally arrived but another 15 at least before the food. Service was worse than vad and its clear management isnt managing. The staff all looked like they were lost. The food was just ok, not note worthy, but after all that, I didn't care. I was hungry. Then it came time to pay and I had to hunt down someone to take my money. They WERE busy but even with that, they dont seem to care at all. Its an airport. People gotta get in and get gone so they dont miss their flight. Not here.

I highly recommend arriving at the hotel ahead of time and exploring the beautiful location. The hotel is quite a sight to behold- packed with TWA history, designed in that beautiful retro aesthetic, and a lovely reminder of the golden age of flying. Walking around the hotel and exploring the gift shop might have been my highlight. At the pool, they're pretty strict about the timing and the lobby got pretty crowded right before the scheduled time. The pools itself is relatively small, warm, and shallow. We got some IPAs on tap (around $10 each), hung out in the pool, and watched the planes. I was a bit surprised but the overall crowd there. Lots of families with splashing children and people that really just seemed to want to be by a pool and didn't care about that specific location. Didn't necessarily expect so many people to spend money and come all the way to JFK without caring for planes but ofc that's up to them. Just something to keep in mind if you choose to come here. They also don't have changing rooms so you might want to wear your swim clothes or you'll have to change in the bathroom. I would give the hotel a 6/5 and the pool a 3/5. Would love to come back in winter for their apres ski chalet as I think the location is unbeatable.

I would not recommend buying food at the pool bar. It was not great and thrown in plastic containers. The cocktail the bartender made was very nice. Cocktails are $17 each. The parking after the 3 hour total was $68. It was unique, but not worth the $$$
