The food arrived pretty quickly. I was impressed with the taste and quality of the food. I had a quesadilla with steak and it was delicious. The marinade on the meat was really tasty. The price point is a little bit high, but you are paying for convenience and quality food. I think the only odd misstep of the restaurant is not providing complimentary chips and salsa. This is a pretty standard practice for sit down Mexican restaurant and at the price point, it should be included in the experience. I was in town for a conference at Rosen Shingle Creek. I grabbed dinner the first night at Mi Casa's. The service was top-notch. I was warmly greeted and given food/drink menus. I enjoyed dining here with my colleagues the first evening in the Rosen shingle Creek. I loved the table side guacamole and our waitress was very attentive. I felt the chips had an interesting flavor I believe they have some lime in them. I really enjoyed the tacos And rice and beans especially. The churros were pretty tasty but I didn't care for them being filled with Dulce de Leche. I also had the prickly pear margarita with a sugar rim. Probably visited about 3 times during my stay. Each time the experience was absolutely delightful and delicious. From the service to each different dish I tried was exceptional! I had 3 different servers and 2/3 visits the manager came to check on us. I felt like a whole team was catering to me. Their home made chips is a must try!!! I tried birra tacos, steak fajitas, cheese fondue (x2), and carne asada enchiladas. Every single dish was made with quality ingredients as well as TLC !!! Plenty of seating inside and outside the restaurant, but still indoor since it is in the casino. The decor is so bright and welcoming. Service was quick and food came out quickly as well. I loved how they make the guacamole in front of the table. I recommend having a group to share with. They have these ginormous margarita glasses, but I ended up not trying them on my visit. Really wanted to love this place. Truly. Small place inside the hotel. Tables dirty all around. Including the one at which we were seated. Menu also sticky. Not boding well so far. We ordered a watermelon basil margarita and soda and opted for the queso fundido appetizer. We requested no mushrooms, but missed the CORN in the queso. So that was a surprise. The queso was decent but the corn was an odd touch that I couldn't get over. Margarita was good, which was unfortunate because the server never asked if I wanted a second one. However, the manager came over to chat and he was lovely. He was friendly and kind and was an excellent representative of the customer service we had grown accustomed to at this hotel. For dinner, we ordered chicken fajitas and steak fajitas. Price was very reasonable- especially because the portions are small. Once the server delivered our food- we never saw her again. She never asked if our meals were okay. She walked by us many times but we still had to ask someone to get her so we could get the bill. The restaurant only holds 100 people, and it wasn't full. Service was just that slow. Probably a good place for a drink but definitely not somewhere I would go back to when there are better options in the hotel. read more

Staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel, which from my observation, is the smartest hotel I've been to in years. You don't have to worry about driving to a restaurant because they have a variety right on the main floor. The food here was top notch. Guacamole was made to perfection, it didn't last 10min at our table! My Tacos AL Pasto, finger licking good, so much flavor going on here, incredible. Our server was Anchie? Not quite sure if I have his name right, but a very nice e young man, very attentive. When he asked if we wanted large Margaritas, we were like sure. The whole place smelled like good food. We had to come right back and order it. The server came out made our guacamole and took our order. We ordered the oxtail quesadilla. The quesadilla was exactly what you should expect from a quesadilla. The guacamole was lacking. It definitely needed more lime. It occurred to me after the fact that guacamole needs time for the flavors to commingle. Making it fresh at your table doesn't work if you want a five star quality. They attempt to get around this by starting with a pre made base of already commingled guacamole and adding fresh ingredients into it. It did not work for us. My last review I urged readers to jump off the highway and run from the border (Taco Bell) to a brilliant mom and pop. This time, however, I suggest finding one. The chips at this place seemed clearly homemade but quite salty. The guacamole had an interesting flavor, but it turns out it was the same flavor as my Chile relleno. The Chile relleno batter immediately crumpled into bits in your mouth, which deadens the taste of the tomato sauce poured around it. The presentation of the chile was gorgeous, but did not reveal that the cheese inside was granular and not fully melted. The ambiance is that of a food court tucked on the side of a hotel with conference center prices (think $20 hot dog). The service, fortunately, was amazing and people watching borderline awesome as you can watch people wandering to the conference center or to the bathroom, which was near my table. read more

The service was really disappointing. The waiters acted like they didn't want to be there and made us feel like we were bothering them just by showing up. No smiles, no effort, and barely any attention to our table. It's hard to enjoy a meal when the staff seems irritated by your presence. Definitely won't be coming back. We recently returned to Rosen Shingle Creek after having stayed here before about 6 years ago. We'd always remembered this restaurant for the margaritas and hand-made guacamole we'd enjoyed here, and looked forward to returning. Sadly, they were having a really off day during this visit in many respects. We were seated at the bar right away when we arrived, but the lone bartender was very slow, making the drinks one at a time and carefully and methodically measuring out each ingredient. She was also easily distracted - One patron would ask for something, she'd be in the middle of assisting them when someone else would stop her and she'd start helping them, forgetting about the first person she'd been dealing with. They appeared to have 3 managers working - The hostess, one on the floor and one in the kitchen, but we heard lots of complaints from other customers. 3 ladies standing at the drink rail behind us had ordered takeout, but supposedly their order never printed in the kitchen and was never made. A woman seated nearby came to the bar to ask if she was ever going to be served. At one point the hostess stepped behind the bar to help the slow bartender. Another customer sat next to us and asked to see a menu so they could place a takeout order. After waiting for several minutes with no one taking her order, she said she was hoping for something faster and left. The printer for the service bartender ran out of paper and the manager couldn't find the right replacement. A whole host of errors, really. For us, our drinks were good, but again, the bartender was very slow. We requested the guacamole made tableside and though we did see an employee going around the restaurant with a cart to make guac for several customers, we were told they had a few orders waiting so they brought a bowl of guac to us that someone had made in the kitchen. It had little to no salt and very little cilantro. We asked the bartender for a salt shaker which she went to retrieve before being distracted by another customer so we had to ask a manager for one. Then we had no utensils and had to request those. We added 3 batches of salt and mixed them in before the guac tasted as it should. We then ran out of chips and the bartender asked if we wanted more, but she got distracted again by another patron so we never got them. Our food was good but it took quite a long time to come to us after we'd ordered, and this restaurant really wasn't busy at all when we were here on this Saturday afternoon. Sadly, we'd had such a good experience here a few years ago and we looked forward to returning, only to be disappointed in several respects. Had this been our first visit here, I'm not sure we'd return. I'll still give this restaurant 3 stars for "OK" because I'm hoping they were just having an off (albeit REALLY off) day when we visited. read more

I would like to espcially should out Richard the Manager and Jay the Bartender for an amazing experience. Richard was SO SO welcoming to my family and I and really made our visit a happy one. He greeted us while he was making fresh guacamole and after we ordered drinks he came by and offered us some on the house. I stopped in for a late lunch on a Wednesday and sat at the bar. Since it was early, I just ordered food and not an alcoholic beverage. The service from the bartender was very efficient, and I'd say the food was good but not spectacular. I had the carne asada tacos and they were enough to fill me up for lunch. I noticed the waiters make fresh quac tableside so that's always a nice touch (and proof they don't use pre-made guacamole). I can't comment on the quality of the drinks, although a lot of people seemed to be ordering margaritas. This place is really really good!! If you order the table side guacamole it's very fresh and the portion is huge. You can get it spicy or not spicy and they mix it in front of you with an avocado and a half. Perfectly salted with nice chunks of avo. The chicken quesadilla is able to be made with the mango on the side which was a wise choice I think since it would have seemed mushy inside. The chicken itself is incredibly tender and well seasoned. Lots of cheese but the tortilla is a bit on the greasy side. An upscale restaurant nestled within the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, this place provides some quality Mexican food! The restaurant itself is located in a type of indoor plaza, near a few other restaurants and bars. It has indoor and "outdoor" seating, where you're outside of the restaurant proper but still within the hotel. We choose the outside seating as it seemed less crowded. As for the food, for your appetizer you can order guacamole to go along with your chips. A lady brings over a stand and makes the guacamole fresh right in front of you! You can order either mild or spicy guac. Being a large group with mixed tastes, we got one of each. But both tasted great! We also ordered some margaritas, which come in either regular or shareable large sizes. I shared a large La Pasión Margarita. It was subtly sweet yet had a slight spicy kick. I don't normally like spice but this was just right! For my entree I ordered the bbq pork belly taco, which tastes absolutely delicious! Wasn't too fatty and had such flavor! In addition to the great food and drinks our waitress was incredibly sweet and made sure to check up on us. In fact, all the staff here were kind and efficient! The restaurant is a little pricey and it's definitely a little out of the way. But if you're staying at the resort or visiting, this is definitely a great place to grab a bite! read more

This was an awesome place to grab a quick bite. The little sister and I had spent an excruciatingly long day out lounging pool side and drinking adult beverages. Naturally that type of hard labor works up an appetite and we were craving some salty snacks and potentially more adult beverages. It's so nice that the Rosen Shingle Resort has so many amenities located within the property. This is one of several delicious looking restaurants we were able to choose from. We were greeted by a friendly host and shown to a table by the window where we could both admire the subtle design of the dining room and crowd watch- best of both worlds. The dining space is small with a long bar taking up most of the interior. I really loved the deep blue paint and the illuminated star lights that gave a night sky display. We had a great server who was friendly and helpful and made us some killer table side guac. When we ordered gluten free with prep for celiac allergy for both of us, the server was very knowledgeable and pointed out the items on their gf menu. The chef then came out and spoke with us and assured us they would take all precautions during prep, such excellent service! We shared some street tacos with beans and rice that were great. Amazing food and love the "outdoor" seating. Not many of you will be dining here with a one year old who won't sit still, but if you happen to be in that .1% of people, this is the restaurant for you. We were staying at the Rosen Shingle Creek because my husband came for a video game convention (yes, I know, a video game convention). I'll take any excuse to make a short vacation to Orlando so my son and I tagged along. I looked up every restaurant in the hotel on Yelp before going. Besides two of the higher end restaurants where I envisioned my son making a ruckus, this was the highest rated restaurant that was casual enough not to make me break into a cold sweat envisioning my baby running around. When we got to the restaurant I saw they have tons of seating in the hallway of the hotel. Major score. If my son got anxious, I could put him down and we could run around without bothering anyone. I may just eat here for every meal if I decide not to brave one of the less than 4 star rated restaurants. The food itself was solid. We started with the chips and salsa and the seasoning on the chips is addicting. I ate my fair share of the chips and went searching for the ones with the telltale red specks on them. The queso and the salsa were both good. I got a chicken fajita tostada salad and it was huge. I felt like I was stuffing myself full of greens. The dressing was very good too. I felt like the chicken was a bit dry, but that was the only major downside of the salad. I also really enjoyed the margarita. It was well made and had a solid amount of salt around the rim. I wouldn't come to this hotel just to eat at this restaurant. However, I am so thankful that it is here because it is a great option if I don't feel like leaving. I would give it closer to 4.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 5 because my stay at the Rosen Creek Shingle hotel would be less enjoyable if it didn't exist. read more

Had a group of just over 20, so I think I sampled close to everything on the menu. It's better than average for a hotel, for sure. Being from SoCal, it's average mexican-restaurant food...you won't hate it, but you probably won't return. El Torito or something like that level food. Some of the portions we're laughably tiny...labeled "nachos for 2," the dish was about the size of Taco Bell nachos. I give it 4 stars because the service was great - very attentive and they even offered to give me additional nachos when the table all chuckled at its arrival. Obviously you have to start with chips and salsa, right? They're not complimentary here. You'll need to fork over $5 for the traditional snack. They were good and enough for 3 people. The grilled mango chicken quesadilla made a great entree by itself. Large thin flour tortilla, crisped just right and not overflowing with fillers. Served with fresh crema, quac, and pico. Excellent. The Mi Casa Salad with carne asada also makes an great entree. Piled with fresh greens, vegetables, and avocado lightly dressed with chili lime. The crown of the dish was the carne. Mouth watering tender and full if flavor in each bite. Sliced thin and served on the side and plenty of it. They don't skimp. Let me just say I absolutely love this restaurant I chose the Shrimp Ceviche and it is so delicious! Each ingredient brings a burst of flavor on it's own so together it's delectable.
