At 4:36, the family behind us received their full order, including a drink which I thought was odd given they'd ordered after us. Our order was ready a minute later, at 4:37. Unlike the family with the child, no one brought our bag to the table. It was left on the counter for us to retrieve. I had tipped 20% at the time of ordering. Yay me. $44.57 after tip and taxes for two whole sandwiches. No DoorDash or third-party orders came in while we waited, so it's possible a large order came in just before we arrived. It also seems likely the staff weren't actively monitoring the Square queue. Our order may have sat for nearly 24 minutes before anyone saw it. Food: The sandwiches are genuinely amazing. Five stars, no hesitation. To the owner: Sam, I've known of you since before you opened the store on Whitman and we used to go to the drive-thru near the car wash years ago. Your father, from whom I've bought two cars, recommended your shop years ago. I root for local businesses and I root for you. I'm sharing this not to pile on, but because I think these are solvable problems: better monitoring of online orders and a small gesture of bringing food to seated customers goes a long way toward keeping people coming back. The cafe is attached to a store, but that doesn't really affect the cafe all that much. The tablecloths used have a tendency to slide around very easily. We got the tempe blt panini and tempeh Ruben panini with their fries. The fries and ketchup were the best tasting item. You can add extras to the sandwiches, but that gets pretty pricey pretty fast. I added on avocado for $2, which was left off my sandwich so be sure to check that your food is correct. They did give me a small cup of avocado when I went up to the front, but I unfortunately did not notice it was missing until I had already eaten half of my sandwich. The food itself was a bit greasy. Not too overwhelming, but enough that it affected the meal. The sandwiches are pretty small, but filling enough for a lunch sized portion. Beyond food, everything else is self service (water, napkins, utensils). Not bad unless you have limited mobility, then it will be difficult to maneuver around the tables to the small cramped corner that everything else is located. When a gentleman asked the staff if they would bring him a fork (needed assistance walking), the staff only pointed again where the utensils were located before walking away.
