Another hidden gem in Delaware... I tend to be a little critical of Mexican restaurants because there are so many of them, and most are mediocre. Mi Cerrito is one of the good ones. The decor is nice and it is not too noisy. The service was really good. The food was awesome - the chips and salsa were good - their salsa actually had some kick to it. I had a burrito with rice and salad, which I really enjoyed. Wifie had the chori Pollo, which she absolutely loved. We found the place by accident but it was a great experience.

Chimichanga Supreme

Meh I ordered the chimichangas supreme from here, it come with 2 chimichangas filled with choice of shredded chicken or shredded beef. Topped with queso. Served with Mexican rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo. The rice beans and salad were good, flavorful and a decent portion. The chimichangas were smaller than I expected but my beef is with the taste, it was a little soggy and lacked flavor.

Complimentary chips and salsa

Love the kiwi watermelon margarita! Tried it at the taste of Delaware event and had to come back for more! I love when the chips and salsa are complimentary and bottomless! The cheese dip has a slight jalapeño flavor but it's not too spicy. The salsa is very cilantro forward, but I could eat a little. The best was combining the salsa and cheese for a new dip! Yum. Excellent quesabirria and consume! Our kiddo devoured the cheese quesadilla!

Since ownership changed the menu, service, and quality has hit rock bottom. Once one of my favorites I will not return.

Just waked out due to long wait time. Every time we go there is a sense of disorganization and being terribly under staffed.

By far the best Mexican food in Delaware. We have recommended this restaurant to friends and family and now they are fans too.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I've ever experienced. Great food and friendly service. Inexpensive, too.

My friends and I have been regular customers at El Vaquero for quite some time, which makes this…read morereview especially disappointing to write. During a recent visit, we were seated at the bar and served by Jose. What started as a casual conversation turned into an uncomfortable and persistent discussion about Catholicism. We respectfully shared that we are Christians and that we did not wish to continue discussing religion, but our requests were repeatedly ignored. Over the course of nearly an hour, Jose continued bringing up the topic despite multiple attempts to redirect the conversation. At one point, he came around the bar and repeatedly shoved his phone in our faces with Hail Marys after we had already asked him to stop. One of my friends even pulled him aside privately and politely asked him to drop the subject, but the conversation continued. What made the situation even more concerning was that he appeared to be drinking behind the bar while working. The experience became so uncomfortable that we left earlier than planned. Since then, we've felt unwelcome during subsequent visits and have noticed a significant change in how we're treated. We enjoy El Vaquero and have supported this restaurant for years, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Customers should be able to enjoy a meal without feeling pressured into religious discussions after clearly expressing that they are not interested. I truly hope that moving forward with us and other customers that religion and politics are left out of the topic at a bar top.

Wow, this restaurant is awesome! Stopped by with my son recently while in Columbus, and I am so…read moreglad we stopped! The wait staff was great, very attentive but not too much if you know what I mean. I think we were there for about an hour total, I had my drink refilled twice, they brought us more chips once, and my son liked his rice so much he ordered again, and the staff was all over it! I had the burrito diablo, and I was surprised that it actually had some heat to it! I am used to places saying something is spicy and that not being the case. It was nicely spiced though, not too hot. The burrito itself was covered in cheese sauce, it came with marinated chicken, and was served with rice and beans. The rice was good, as I mentioned my kid ordered extra, but for me, the beans were great. I don't know what made them so good, but there were really good. The chicken in the burrito was perfect, nice and tender and full of flavor. We also had a side of queso, that was very good as well. My only regret is that we don't live closer, or this place would go in the regular rotation for sure!

It is in the row of shops and restaurants directly BEHIND the Krispy Kreme location. It is best accessed from Gemini Parkway. The decor is much nicer than your typical Mexican restaurant and offers a very nice dining experience. Being my first time here, I ordered one of their specials - a sampler platter with a burrito, taco and other items. My wife went for her favorite - a chimichanga, The food was excellent/delicious. The service was great. The prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back. In fact, I've already booked a reservation to bring my Dine-Out group here in November.

Got drinks & an order of chips and salsa since it's not included like most Mexican restaurants. We left after 30 minutes when they still had not taken our order or checked back! Watched the waitresses at the grill window trying to get all the orders fixed. We never got food, we won't be going back! Update 1-16-26. Decided to give this another try, was close & in the mood for Mexican. It wasn't busy, 1 other table seated. Walked in & sat myself, looked over the menu while I waited for staff...and waited...and waited...and waited. Aaaand waaaaited!!! All three had flavor, personality, and just enough mess to prove they don't skimp on the good stuff. (If your taco doesn't drip, did you even taco?) For dessert, I went all in with the Cheesecake Chimi. Imagine cheesecake got invited to a cinnamon-sugar carnival and decided never to leave. Crunchy, sweet, and dangerously addictive. The service was fast, the place was clean, and my only regret is that I didn't order extra napkins up front. Verdict: Come for the tacos, stay for the chimi, and wear a shirt you're not afraid to baptize in salsa.
