Came here for lunch on a whim. We came in the restaurant was empty. We were greeted and seated. We ordered queso fundido which was very liquidy at first. It came with 3 tortillas. Usually I've ordered this and it comes with chips so it was different. They do give you chips and salsa so I used those chips. Tip: if you order the queso, let it sit for a little bit so it cools and gets thicker. It was delicious and had a lot of meat in it. I ordered the carnitas in red sauce. It came with rice and beans. Tasty but needed a little extra salt. I got 3 tortillas to eat with the dish and I wish they had given 4-5 instead. Thr carnitas were tender and fell apart goodness! Went here on a Saturday night. Our group of four was seated promptly and had our drink orders taken. It was a bit annoying as straws were put into our cups by the server, I prefer to skip straws but doesn't help if others handle them. The food was vert good. It was a bit of a wait and pieces of the meal came out rather than all together. Luckily it was hot and fresh at least. Everything was very good and no issues about our requests. Be sure to request no cheese if vegan as the refried beans come topped with cheese otherwise. All of the booths and chairs have a different design so it's very unique. The servers were friendly too. Our service wasn't wonderful but our food sure was! I am not sure I've tasted better homemade salsa, Verde, and enchilada sauce. Mine wasn't hot, but they took it back immediately to warm it up. Incredible! We didn't receive refills. I am being truthful when I say the food made up for this! We were on our way back from vacation when we stopped in. Fiesta Grande is a Mexican place in downtown Marysville. It's not the best Mexican place here. The town isn't that big so that's saying something. It's just not anything fantastic. This is slightly better than Tumbleweed. I had a regular margarita. It's about $3 at happy hour. This is in a pretty small cup, and it's weak. It does have a good lime taste, with the frozen one being better. The food is pretty boring, and lacking taste. I had the vegetable burrito. This is about $8 for a burrito with beans, guacamole, and onions. It's what you expect for exurban Mexican. It's boring and very plain. Tres Potrillos is much better than this. read more

We really enjoyed our lunch here. We traveled over from Columbus and just did a Yelp search and came up with this restaurant. I had the Chicken Chicana which is one of the best Mexican dishes I have ever had. The Combination of grilled chicken slices bacon cheese ranchero sauce and poblano peppers was outstanding. My wife had shrimp enchiladas which were good but not great. The chips and the salsa were standard. The service was good. The atmosphere was good. The price was great! My fiancé had ordered burritos and got basic hamburger crumble wrapped in a tortilla. I visited this place tonight and hoping it is a one off. It had been a while but boy what a change and not for the good. It was a Monday night but the place was almost empty. My waitress was more interested in her cell phone than taking my order but came alive after another worker alerted her to my presence. The chips and "salsa" arrived. The chips were fresh but the salsa looked and tasted like bottled ketchup. It was awful to say the least. I ordered my usual meal so I am not commenting on something different. The entree was ok but a little greasy. The sides were another story. The refried beans had burned in the pot and had a strong scorched taste. The rice was inedible. It was overly full of larger pieces of almost raw very strong onion which overpowered everything. The rice was so greasy that when the plate tilted ran a steam away from the rice. The prices have also increased. I under stand this but not for what I was served this evening. I do not know if the place is under new management or some other change but this was the worst food that I have had at this go to place. I will try one more time to rule out the off evening but they will need to have a stellar night to redeem this visit and my business. Sad, as this was a decent local place to get a quick bite as noted in other reviews, but there are too many others striving to provide much better quality. read more

Haven't been here for more than two or three years. I asked my sonic where he wants to eat. Surprisingly he suggested this place. We went and had a wonderful time with my family. We loved their plantain (fried bananas), ordered it twice. My meal which was called Marysville special was a big portion. Saved the rest for lunch the following day. First time visit. I ordered Chicken Enchiladas with no cheese. The prices were reasonable. A dollar less for an entree than comparable places. Music was at a nice volume. Loud enough. Our server was very nice and attentive. The lighting is bright and not cozy. The food was okay. The chips and salsa were boring. No hot sauce at the table. I asked for spicy salsa or a bottle of hot pepper sauce. She brought out what she called hot salsa. It was more like a sweet and sour sauce to dip an egg roll in. My first visit since the move, and it was fine. Nothing special, but pretty good typical Ohio Tex-Mex. The service was very good. The decor is okay, kinda kitschy Mexican restaurant stuff. The noise was- wow, very loud for not being packed. Music blaring, kitchen noise, conversation echoing off the walls. Not excruciating enough to make me leave, but not pleasant. The food made up for that. I had the Guadalajara combo- chicken tamale, chicken and beef taquitos, and 4 nacho chips piled with meat, rice, beans, etc. A ton of food, all of it pretty tasty, particularly the taquitos. Prices are reasonable for what you get. I'm rarely in the heart of Marysville and it's not good enough to go out of my way for, but worth it if you're passing by. read more

This was our first time to Fiesta Grande, walking in the door you are greeted with decor that you would expect for a stereotypical Mexican restaurant. Sitting down the menu was a little overbearing and had too many options in my opinion. It took a while to figure out what we wanted. I ended up getting the "Chicken Chicana" and my wife had the "Burritos Supreme". The food came out quickly and this is where our visit took a turn, for the better. I have to say this is the most authentic Mexican food I have had outside of an actual Mexican home. My wife said it was very close to what she had in Warez Mexico. The service was amazing. Every staff member there was smiling and pleasant. It made for a very enjoyable experience. If you are looking for authentic Mexican in Marysville Ohio, heck even the greater Columbus area, this is the place to go. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is there was a slight musty smell by the hostess area, though I think that comes from being in an old building. I had a coworker that used to rave about this place, so when I found myself in Marysville for dinner the other night, we decided to give it a shot. Our server was friendly, but incredibly slow. Their salsa is SUPER bland. Kind of like tomato paste w/ a tiny bit of heat. No onion, no cliantro, not near enough spice. I got the chimichanga combo. The chicken was fine, but the beef was super dry and tough. I also tried a tamale, but it had the same dried up tough beef. My wife liked her chicken fajitas, but they were pretty standard fare. I'm not sure if Marysville has other Mexican food options, but if so, I'd steer clear of this joint! read more

Ended up in Marysville on a weeknight and needed to grab dinner. The reviews aren't great, but it was recommended so checked it out. Our server was slow. Everything about her was slow. We had to ask for silverware more than once, which shouldn't have to happen at all. Just not good. The salsa tasted like it was just crushed tomatoes and nothing else. Yes this place may be the original Mexican restaurant in Marysville, but I don't see the hype. Let me say I have been to numerous restaurants in Columbus that serve the same food. Now the experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I think it was just OK..... Parking is difficult as downtown Marysville doesn't accommodate much, the salsa was very bland and tasted like just a can of tomatoes, the food was alright, and the service was good. All in all I wasn't impressed and doubt I'll ever return. Nothing against them but I can't see paying the same price I would from another restaurant and thinking the food is ok. I'm sad to say but in my opinion this place has really declined recently. It used to be our favorite place for Mexican food in Marysville. When we dined in I always got #19 (Union county special) then it started to be really inconsistent at each trip. Then they totally changed it and it comes on out on one of those skillet things. It's typically burned or dry. Thanks for ruining a good thing!!! Now let's talk about carry out- it's awful!!! Disorganized to say the least. The last 3 times we have ordered carry out, they give us a time and it's never ready!! That's if anyone bothers to wait on you when you walk in and stand there. In addition to not being ready, the last three times my order hasn't been right! Last night i asked the guy if everything was there because they messed it up the last three times. He said yes it's all there. Of course it wasn't!!! I'm done!!!! I would like to recommend the crazy burrito or tres potrillos. Truly surprised here, not in a good way. Local recommend this place due to their authentic Mexican flavor. Issue, there is no flavor. Tuesday is kids eat free day and it's 1 per table max. We had to pretty much beg for the discount even. 3 kids 3 adults, the place by dollar tree does BOgO kids meals every Wednesday NO limit. We went here really thinking it would be amazing, left most of our food on the plates and just checked out. Disappointed flavor, very small fajita portions, and the chimichanga was awful. This comment came from someone who only eats chimichangas at every restaurant we go to. Skip this joint and head down the road by dollar tree. Way better, huge portions, and way better service. Shocked by some of the earlier reviews. This place is one of my favorite weekday lunch spots. Fast. Delicious. Cheap. Easy. Clean. Staff is always courteous and attentive. They keep the chips and salsa and refills coming. I like the weekday lunch specials, but often find delicious dishes off the specials menu. The Thursday Special is my favorite. This place is kind of a hidden gem in Marysville. While I still feel it doesn't reach the level of Chile Verde Cafe, I see Fiesta Grande as a strong runner-up when it comes to Mexican restaurants I've been to in the area. During my handful of ventures here, the service has always been excellent, the chips and salsa solid (ask for the hot salsa, as it's not too spicy and has a unique flavor). Not only that, but the dishes are reasonably priced, the food is good, as are the margaritas, and there are even some unique items on the menu. At what other Mexican restaurant are you going to find something called "fire fries" (fries with buffalo seasoning)? If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend checking out this place and then heading over to Benny's Pizza to check out the band that's performing. read more

Sometimes being too good makes it so that you become your own hard act to follow. My wife LOVED Fiesta Grande when it was at the original location on 5th st. The year and half that they did not operate were almost painful. So for them to finally reopen at 109 N Main St, it was a day we were so looking forward to. But.... sadly there is a but here. It pains me to say it, but our enjoyment of what is supposed to be the re-incarnation of our former beloved restaurant has not repeated the experience we so once loved. First, we don't consider ourselves drinkers, but we do enjoy a margarita and/or pina colada when dinning at a good Mexican place. Both of our drinks tasted odd. Not being drinkers, neither of us know what was wrong or missing, but we knew they didn't taste right. Second, the ambiance of the place just felt downright weird. If they paid for an interior designer, they should request a refund. I am far from being known for decorating style... but when I said to my wife "it feels weird in here" she immediately exclaimed "EXACTLY". Maybe it was too much light (there were a ridiculous amount of lights on). Or maybe it was the colorful seats that brought over from the old place seemed to have nothing to do with the decor of the walls, ceiling or floor. I don't know. I can't fix it. I just know it was weird enough to be uncomfortable. As for the food, the quality is what I remember. Tasty bites from everything on my plate. At least they got something right from the move. The food alone earns 3 stars, but the drinks and the ambiance are why I can't rate it any higher, which pains me given they were easily 5 stars prior to the move. This is our 7th time at Fiesta Grande. We seem to be coming here more often. The food is excellent, fast and reasonably priced. Service is top notch and I don't think that I have seen an employee without a smile. Angel was our server for the 2nd time and once again he was superb. They all seem to love their jobs and it shows. I have had the shrimp, chicken and steak fajitas -- all good and healthy portions for $13. Beef soft tacos are excellent and inexpensive. We always have plenty for leftovers too. The chicken burrito was the best that i've ever had. This time we ordered the fried ice cream, which everyone fought over because it was so wonderful. Next time we'll have a pitcher of margaritas too. This has become our favorite restaurant in Marysville. read more

This is our favorite Mexican food restaurant in Marysville. My husband and I have been here 4 or 5 times in the past few months. The food is great and there is a large assortment of items to choose from. The food is not expensive. We usually spend about $10-$12 per person plus drinks. Being from Arizona, this is the closest we have tasted to authentic Mexican food in this area. The service has always been good. My only complaint is that the restaurant smells a little...musty? It is hard to explain. It kind of smells like a basement or an attic but it isn't that bad (it isn't bad enough for them not to get a 5-star rating from me). read more
