It was a frigid night walking into have dinner here for the first time. The place was hoppin'. We sat in the bar and the food and service was outstanding. Prices are fair for the quality and amount of food you receive. Atmosphere is a "cool" one in the bar area with Windows rising to the ceiling and lime green painted walls and brick. Really good food. The servers and all workers are so kind. I've always had good experiences there... have been there several times.

On my first visit here it just happened to be margarita night. The place was packed. It's not a terribly large place so that's easy to do. They have a large menu like most Mexican restaurants. I got the shrimp nachos that were on the appetizer menu and asked to add chicken and steak. They serve you chips and salsa while you wait. It also comes with some sort of white sauce for your chips. I'm still not sure what it was. It's not cheese. It's not ranch. What it is though is fantastic. I'd go back just for that. When I got my entree I was again wowed. I don't know what they cooked my meat and peppers in but it tasted like Heaven. It was a large portion so I had lots more to eat the next day. Pricing is standard. There is a small lot next to the place but it's for several places so parking can be hard but it's worth it. read more

Yum yum! I love Mexican food. Mi Cerrito gets it right every time. They did a great remodel to their facility and it's incredibly warm and welcoming. I went there on a Tuesday night around 6 o'clock and the place was hopping! It's so good to see a local Delaware business busy on a week night. One of the tables beside us ordered the made-at-your-table guacamole and the smell of fresh cilantro filled the air. MMmm!! The salsa was fresh and delicious. Chips were crisp. We had $1.99 margaritas as per the special of the day. I had a tilapia dish served with vegetables, rice and a guacamole salad and it was amazing. I was stuffed after just a few bites (I'm sure the chips had something to do with it) and so I had a great lunch the next day, too! You can't go wrong here. I must have walked by this place 100 times and not noticed its presence. Small sign I guess. However, it's a convenient location if you live near or are driving to the Delaware down town. The place itself looks very nice. There's a good sized bar when you walk in and a quieter eating area through an arch. Decor is muted and tastefully minimal - not so much of the garish colors or flashy lights that are typical to the "authentic" Mexican places you find everywhere these days. Service is fine too - not many smiles, but very polite and helpful. The food, meanwhile, is... okay. I ordered a combination of chicken burrito and tamale, along with some refried beans, which certainly filled me up even if my taste buds weren't dancing with glee. The flavors were a bit muted and bland, often blurring together, and the meat was a bit dry. Overall, it was good but not fantastic. Reading other reviews, it might be worth going again to try some of the other dishes, though. Prices are standard, and the typical a-la cart ordering option is available for small appetites and\or tight budgets. You do get a lot of food for your money, what with the chips-and-salsa, so it's not a bad choice for someone with a big appetite and an empty stomach. read more

You know what? I dont like to start off on the wrong foot. Let me begin with our first occasion coming here. It was like an awesome memory, hitting every key note that made you taste buds jump with utter excitement. Not all things end the way they start, clearly. We have been here three times and two of those three havent been such major dissappointments, we will not be returning. So I will say that from the last two visits, either the cooks fail with their listening skills, or the servers fail with thier listening skills, maybe both? On one occasion my girlfriends food waa made in correct three times and the server kept taking it back. I mean seriously? You fail that bad at your job, how do you still have it being that much of a failure? Eventually the manager got involved it was cooked correctly and her food was free. Clearly it was not the servers fault. Occasion number two the server had sime issue and liked to argue. My food, my girlfriends food and one of our two sons food was wrong. The son didn't really care, surprising consisering he is 7 and everything is a big deal. Now moving on to me and my lady well they left in ingredients we didn't like or ask for and charged us for the ones we requested, but they didn't put those in our dishes. Now I said I don't care. I was hungry and ate most of it, but my lady was very upset, considering this trend of failing to provide the dish we request is continuing. She wanted to speak with the server. He came over just to argue with me about what I requested which is invalid because at our table there five people and they all heard me state it. He argued with about what I ordered just to get out of it. Now my girlfriends dish was cooked wrong. It was offered to her to take it back but we said forget remove it and my dish and we are done. I have been so disappointed with this place the last couple of times I will not be returning any time soon. read more

Fabulous! My boyfriend is from California so I am used to authentic Mexican food and the difference between there and Ohio every time we visit CA. I have to say that my dinner was right on par with authentic Mexican that I've been missing from CA. We had a 30 minute wait on a homecoming Saturday night, which didn't seem to actually be 30 minutes. All the waiters we eager to take our order at first and then kind of disappeared when we still needed time.to look at the menu. However, the options here and the quality put the food in my number one for Mexican in OH. read more

We love this place! Have been here a number of times, and the food here is the real deal for Mexican/Latin American food. The owner is friendly and the service has always been good. Today we had chicken Tampico, camarones (shrimp) quesadilla, and chicken chipotle tacos- all were delicious. It's right across the street from the movie theater. read more

This is the first visit for my wife and I. The restaurant is well lit and clean. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated (12:15) and our drink order was taken while the chips and salsa were delivered. Our drinks were brought within 2 minutes and our food order was taken. Our lunch specials ($8.25) were brought out in exactly 10 minutes. The portion was a little smaller than our other favorite Mexican restaurant (senor Antonio's). We both got the chimichangas (beef and chicken). They were hot and tasted good. The rice and refried beans were warm, not hot. They tasted fine. Overall we had a pleasant lunch. read more

Ordered carry out for the first and last time. Overpriced, cold and unappetizing. White Sauce which I thought was cheese was a weird spicy ranch dressing, masquerading as a dip. Jumbo margarita was 1/4 margarita and 3/4 ice. At $8.99 it was the most expensive ice I've ever had. I know it's a pandemic but it's not a license to rip off those who WERE trying to support you. This use to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. Loved the food. So authentic and flavorful. Now that it's been taken over by Vaqueros it is not the same. I knew when my favorite servers were no longer there and started seeing Vaqueros servers something was up. The food changed and so did the flavor. I stopped going to Vaqueros for a reason years ago...under cooked taco meat twice! It was raw. So I now don't go to Mi Cerritos anymore for same reason read more

Stopped in for dinner on Saturday with Boyfriend and another couple. Started with chips and salsa. Salsa had some kick to it but was tasty. Chips were ok. My best friend and I each ordered a margarita. We asked for small but received Medium. She ordered Frozen Lime and I ordered Midnight but forgot to mention frozen. They were sooooo stiff with tequila that after a few sips, you were feeling good. Boyfriend ordered Long Island Iced Tea which was equally as strong. We were having some communication issue with our waiter, Gomez but he had a great sense of humor and personality. Our food was fantastic. Again the drinks were stiff so I can't even remember what I ordered. It is always a great time when we go. The bartender stopped by our table to ask if our drinks were ok. We told him the truth about too much tequila....he just smiled and walked away. Wish Pedro the owner was there. He is such a sweetheart and we love chatting with him. This is one of downtown Delaware's better restaurants and I have never been disappointed each time I have visited and I have eaten there a lot. They have a Hawaiian fajita dinner that is very good. It is your standard fajita fare but topped with grilled pineapple rings and melted cheese. It is served with flour tortillas but way too good to all by itself. Pay attention to the chips and salsa they bring out. The Chios are warm and fried and so yummy with this mayo based dip that has zing to it. We ate here on a recent trip to Ohio. It was suggested by a group staying at the same hotel we were at. The food was pretty tasty! I had chicken tacos a la carte. I wish they'd had al pastor (my fav!) But it wasn't a la carte and I wasn't too hungry. My husband enjoyed his meal as well. The drinks here are strong! And I don't think it's just because I couldn't drink for nine months! LOL try the fuzzy alligator! It's really good! This new mommy chose her first postpartum mixed drink wisely! Good food! I loved my meal and so did my friend that went with me! I had a wonderful fajita quesadilla and my friend had a quesadilla grande. They weren't kidding about the grande part! I really liked their salsa too! However, our service was not anything remarkable. The gentlemen who greeted and sat us was very welcoming and friendly! My work companions and I eat here often for lunch. I've had dinner once there with my sons and father. Lunch was better. I do keep wanting to go back. The chips and salsa are fresh and really tasty. Fajitas were wrong, margarita was wrong, had to ask server to bring forgotten cheese dip, salsa, chips and napkins. Obviously, she was not very customer service oriented. Once the food came, it was probably 3.5 stars and service was about 1-star. That is how I arrived at the 2-star rating. First time here and won't return again. We drove 1 1/2 hrs. to meet our son at Mi Cerrito for dinner and we loved it! Our server was Rausel and he was a gem. Very friendly, always had a smile on his face, joked around with us and at the end of our meal, he shook all of our hands! Another one bites the dust. I've had lots of Mexican food over the years - some of it in Mexico - and this is nothing to write home about. We ate there several times but then gave up. There is no consistency in the preparation. You can order the same item on different visits and get different things each time. Like so many disappointing Mexi restaurants, they rely far too much on cilantro, to the point that it's all I could taste. It's also a very noisy place, and on two occasions we put up with the owners screaming back in forth in Mexican to some friends of theirs at a table across the room. read more
