And it has become quite apparent to me that I need some serious Me Time. It has also become apparent to me that my skin, especially at the ripe old age of 35, is nothing to be trifled with. So I have decided that every month, I'm going to do two things for myself: get a massage (yay $15 foot massages in San Gabriel!) and get a facial. I know NOTHING about skincare. My fine skincare line comes from Target. My extensive routine consists of soaping up my mug twice a day and throwing on whatever moisturizing-type thing I had in the medicine cabinet. Zits are treated with dirty looks, four-letter words, and OTC benzoyl peroxide. So I popped online to find myself an expert, and Patty at Tranquility seemed to fit the bill. Boy, were my instincts right. Patty (the owner!) is the type of skincare person I trust. She approaches skincare the exact same way I approach massage therapy-- therapeutically. She solves your skin problems, and solves them well. This is no foofy facial (but it felt damn good nevertheless). She microdermabraded, she exfoliated, she serumed and moisturized and assured me that eventually my dumb stupid acne scars would go away with proper care at home. She was incredibly professional, treated me like an old friend, answered all my questions, and knew her stuff backwards and forwards. She told me what I should do to take care of my skin in the interim, and assured me results if I was consistent. And you know what? I believe her wholeheartedly.
