I can officially say after two visits, this is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants ever! They have a thinner tortilla chip (which is the style I prefer), and when they give you salsa they simply leave a bottle and an empty bowl for each person at the table. No more sharing/rationing your salsa, as here you get as much as you want in your own bowl. During my first visit, I believe I ordered dish #65, which was chicken with fajita veggies and mushrooms topped with cheese and served with rice, beans, and a salad. While I skipped the rice (not my thing), I devoured everything else on that plate. The veggies were fresh, the chicken well seasoned, the cheese was tasty, and the beans were very good. It was one of the best meals I had had from a Mexican restaurant in a long time. The second visit I ordered three street tacos, one carnitas, one al pastor, and one chicken. The chicken and carnitas were good, but the al pastor was to die for. So juicy, fresh, and hearty, next time I will be getting three of those. The corn tortillas you could tell were also homemade and it was just a great meal. Both visits I got margaritas, which for me were very good and reasonably priced. Mi Hacienda is hands down one of our favorite restaurants! We can't get enough of their chips and salsa--the salsa is fantastic, and we love the single-serve option. Over the course of many visits, we've tried around ten different menu items, and every single one has been amazing, but the fajita quesadilla is our absolute FAVORITE. The lunch deals are incredible; we fed four of us for just $32! We were so excited to dig in to our food today that we started eating before taking the picture lol. The service is consistently great--efficient and friendly. Plus, the water is always refreshing! The cozy environment, with both indoor and outdoor seating, is perfect, and the music is at just the right volume. Service and quality of food has really gone down hill. Order a chile releno got I small piece of green bell pepper, they are made with poblano peppers. Can't even make a real traditional dish. We will not be going back there, even after the supposed manager told us that's how they make them. First time visiting while I was in town. The food was great but the service was awful. It didn't seem to be that busy because I kept seeing staff hang around the front chatting with each other. After placing my order, never saw my waiter again. I had to flag someone down just to get napkins and then later the check. This is the first time in life I didn't leave a tip but I honestly could not justify leaving a tip for the worse service I've ever experienced. I won't return. Really just not good. I ordered the mi hacienda special and there was maybe 3 oz of beef in the dish. It was mostly a greasy mess with canned mushrooms, bell peppers, a tbsp of cheese sauce and 5-6 very tiny bits of beef. A far cry from the menu listed "marinated strips of beef..." description. I'm curious if there's a word for when four or five employees are standing around the host station while you're waiting for service, because that would save this review a lot of time. I've been to Mi Hacienda a few times now, both for dinner and lunch and I've been flat-out unimpressed each time I've gone. Particularly in the realm of customer service, but also by bland food and a generally stale atmosphere. Stranger still, by Columbus standards there's so much better. For a such a small town, there's like, three other places that all offer better Mexican within a few minutes. The best I can offer Mi Hacienda is that they're a scaling restaurant, in that you get the best service when they're most busy. People seem to love this is place though, as it really fills up on a Friday night. They offer a ton of seating, and generous margarita portions apparently put asses in the seats.
