On the way to Texas spending the night in Columbus, Mississippi. The restaurants is next to hotel so here we go. Sabryna was my server at the bar. She was awesome, knew the menu and made great drinks. The jalapeño margarita was excellent, it was spicy and you could tell it was freshly made with the lime juice vs a premix. I decided on the tacos del mar with shrimp. What a treat, this is where the south meets Mexican cuisine. The shrimp was prepared in a roux that went with the traditional cabbage and cotija cheese. It was soo good. Pro tip: it is incredibly messy to eat, I got. side plate and stacked them like an enchilada. Good food and good service. Definitely recommend. read more

Lots of available tables sometimes makes me nervous. Chips are greasy and the salsa does not taste fresh. It's acidic and dark flavor. I'm a tomato, cilantro, onion and lime kind of girl. This tastes like spicy soup. No chunks at all. My guest who didn't do hot thinks it's too hot. The heat it does have is the only flavor. A lot of people are drinking so maybe that's why there is the clientele it does have. I get disappointed when the chips are bad. I got the combo enchilada and taco both beef with refried beans and rice. This entree was good. Classic tasting. Redeemed with entree. I don't live here but would've liked a better chips and salsa. read more

My waitress/bartender Jacynda was absolutely wonderful...very attentive... always checking to see if I needed anything...very polite...and professional. Everything was great that I ordered. I will say this though, the BAR needs some spraying up, especially for such a nice restaurant, the bar is lacking, almost looks like its unfinished. But, I had a great food, drinks, and hospitality. I was In town working and was recommended by Jacynda to come eat there. Good thing I took her advice because it was awesome. Not only is Jacynda a professional waitress and bartender, she was telling the truth about how good it is. I had the steak and it was one of the best I've had. I sat at the bar and the restaurant overall has a great vibe and atmosphere to it. The Mexican rice was the best I've had by far. I look forward to returning to enjoy the experience again. Me and a group of girls from work chose this place for out supper club outing of the month. 3 of us got there at 630 pm and the rest were coming as they got off work. The girl at the desk refused to seat us because our whole party was not there. The restaurant was sparsely populated and there were at least 7 empty long tables. Finally, after just standing around they sat us at a booth for 6 so we could order drinks. as our other friends started arriving after work, we then got to move to a larger table but were ignored for much of the time. The food was pricey for mexican food, i will say the salsa was good. Because of the rudeness of the seating staff and management i would never choose to return to Sol y Luna Mexican Grill. If the restaurant had been busy i would have understood having to wait to be seated, but that was not the case. Our supper club has met at Anthonys and Hucks and Harveys and we were not treated like that. Our nurse supper club will not make the mistake of trying this place again. read more

The restaurant ambience was good. The service was good. Most of the food was ok, but my wife's Chicken quesadilla had a peculiar taste & tainted smell to it. She couldn't finish it. She said we'd never go back. Our grandson said his meal was great (T-bone steak ordered medium but the steaks are really too thin to be ordering medium rare. Most come out medium to well well done I would imagine. His def wasn't medium). The total bill for 3 was almost 70$ not including tip. read more

Upon first look, the place looks clean. But keep In mind, in order to score a B from the health department, there are serious deficiencies. Staff is not friendly--no smiles, just blah. Almost as if it was inconvenient for them to serve customers. We left without ordering. I'd rather spend my money in a place that welcomes and appreciates their customers.
