First thing, we are with a party the whole party got their food but two tables. We sat for a hour and didn't get our order taken. We couldn't get our drinks filled. We got our food after half the party left and was done. we waited a hour and a half for our food. Then once we got it they got our order wrong. Been going here on and off for years. Good people, good service and they are always busy. They provide endless chips and salsa and large portions too. The fajitas are good, the poyo loco is good. I ordered a top shelf margarita on the rocks, my friend ordered a strawberry margarita. The margarita tasted like Powerade and the strawberry margarita tasted like a virgin strawberry daiquiri. We were told that they were from "machines". I asked for a margarita with patron. The server said, "no tequila". I walked out. Mi Toro is pretty standard Tex-Mex fare, but it's tasty and comes at a good price, and service is always fast and friendly. The beans that come with most meals and the tortillas are all pretty good. The chips are great, and while the salsa is very mild, that's to be expected given where you are, and you can always add hot sauce for a little kick. The last time I went, I had the camarones chipotle; the shrimp were a little overcooked and rubbery, but the sauce was good enough that I could overlook it. It had a good level of spice to it and was delicious. Don't come here expecting the most authentic or high-quality cuisine, but for what it is, Mi Toro's food is pretty good. read more

Hadn't tried any of the Columbus Mexican cuisine yet so I decided to stop here after work. I won't lie, service was a bit on the slow side and the chips were a bit hard for my liking ; however, the food is better than your average run of the mill Mexican place. I got the steak fajita nachos with vegetables and they were excellent. I was surprised that the steak was actually juicy, tender, and had good flavor and the bell peppers and onions had the perfect crisp. The nachos had just the right amount of queso too...just enough to cover everything, but not so much to drown my meal and make everything soggy. In my opinion best steak fajita nachos I've had in a while, and that's usually my go to Mexican place meal. In other news on of my guys got the Mi Toro Fajita mix that had everything. Its the top thing on the menu under the fajita list. It looked awesome. I'm getting that next time I come. Definitely would come back. read more

I've been twice and both experiences were polar opposite. The first experience was a Tuesday evening we had great service the food was hot and I really enjoyed the fajitas. Hoping the service would be better next time and give them another chance we ate there again only to be disappointed even more. The salsa tasted like stewed tomatoes from a can. It had no seasonings , no taste , no color. When our food arrived our plates were cold and the food was lukewarm. They also brought me a chicken taco salad when I specifically told them a shrimp taco salad. So after waiting 15 minutes for a salad I decided that will be our last time in this establishment. I enjoy most of the dishes at Mi Toro. It is standard dixie-Mex fare. Do not expect authentic or from scratch food here. I doubt that the tamales are made on premises. This is not great food, but it is about as good as southern small town Mexican food gets. It is far superior to local options other than the Mexican Kitchen and Mi Hacienda. The atmosphere reminds me of a retirement home. Awkwardly quite and the sound travels well. The fluorescent lighting really highlighted the different shades of brown, in our food. We tried a good mix of food: the tacos need seasoning, the microwave must need replaced because the Chile Relleno was so Al Dente if there was not melted cheese inside we would bet it wasn't cooked, the tamale was covered in beans, and hamburger sauce that we are pretty sure is for a chili dog, the taco al pastor was ok. Overall, we ate it but given the option of a free dinner here or Taco Bell, we would take the assault on our digestion system from Taco Bell.
