Asada Tacos Pastor Tacos
Adam M.

Back in college my best friends and I would come to this place every single Monday. The food is that good! We were all back in town for Christmas break and decided to eat here for old times sake. It's still just as delicious! The carne asada tacos are very flavorful with that perfect amount of crispy-ness. Same with the Pastor tacos. The add ons are always very fresh. The service is consistently so kind. When we graduated they actually gave us all Mi Lindo swag which was very fun. The vibe of the restaurant is great and it's fun to be able to see them cook your food. Provo/Utah is known for its tacos/Mexican food and this is seriously the best I've had. Every time I come into town I eat here at least once!

Only place in Utah where you can find authentic Guadalajaran meals - birria (the OG's), torta ahogada and best of all, CARNE EN SU JUGO! Mind you, they only serve carne and en su jugo at their lindon and mapleton locations.

We ordered 4 Molcajetes... everyone was pretty happy. Very good.

Food- I could speak for the chicken tacos dorados, Molcajetes, carne asada quesadillas, carne asada tortas. All these are a must try. Service- is great. Not much to rate there bcz you pre pay as soon as you order. So no waitresses. You have to get your own utensils and salsas. Ambiance- ok.... It's not a fancy place. You got to look at it like a bomb taco stand. You have a few tables and chairs and you are there for the food. Don't come here if you want fancy. It's not fancy. But they do make a as Molcajete. And they have a big room in the back for larger groups. Tip- don't order the carnitas burrito. It good at all.... Tip- restrooms are a mile away. Be prepared to walk.

Molcajete

A friend from Mexico City took us here. It's his favorite Mexican food place in the area and he says the most authentic. We had molcajete and it was absolutely delicious. Everything was really fresh and the flavors really vibrant. Highly, highly recommend. We'll definitely be back.

Chilaquiles verdes.

We stumbled across this restaurant looking for chilaquiles on our drive from SLC home. It has become a must stop for us every time we are passing through. Try the chilaquiles verdes. You will not be disappointed!

Drink options

Was pretty disappointed. Food wasn't warm, cheese wasn't melted, rice and beans were pretty bland. The horchata was not good. The prices were decent for the amount of food you got and there were a lot of other authentic options.

Literally my first restaurant review - the food is fantastic. Not your typical Tex Mex style. Great salsa/condiments bar too.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Alejandra in particular was amazing -- she made us feel right at home and took great care of us. The restaurant itself is spotless. You'd swear it was brand new. The booths are comfortable, the custom chairs are a nice touch, and it's clear the owners take real pride in the place. Everything feels fresh, clean, and thoughtfully put together. The salsa and chips were on point -- perfectly seasoned and addictive. I tried pozole for the first time, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, the pork was tender, and the hominy was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered her go-to Enchiladas Suizas and said they were very good -- she was impressed. I went with the Chile Verde Burrito and a beef taco. Both were tasty, well-seasoned, and satisfying. I left feeling full and happy. This is a proper, quality Mexican restaurant with great staff and amazing food. Places like this set the bar high -- other restaurants should definitely take notes! We'll be back soon.

Last night my wife and I visited Gallo Giro Mexican Restaurant in Provo. When we first walked in,…read morethe restaurant smelled great and we were excited to try the food. Our waiter recommended the molcajete, so we decided to order it to share. Unfortunately, the dish was not very good. The molcajete came out extremely full of sauce and the flavors just didn't taste right. We were pretty hungry, but we ended up barely eating it because it wasn't enjoyable. Since we were still hungry, I ordered some street tacos for us instead. When the waiter brought the bill, he charged us the full price for the molcajete even though he could clearly see we barely touched it. There was no offer to adjust the bill or even ask if something was wrong with the dish. To make it more uncomfortable, he also asked us to pay in cash. Overall, the place smelled great when we arrived, but the food and customer service didn't meet expectations. Hopefully they can improve the quality of the food and how they handle situations when customers are not satisfied.

My waiter only barely spoke English but we could figure it out. The chips & salsa they set down was a mixed result. The chips were terrific. The salsa was a small kind of watery bowl that tasted much more sour than usual. It was okay. Just not as good as the chips. I ordered the Taconazo after ascertaining that it was a variant on carne asada. I asked if it came with tortillas. Si. It came pretty fast and he pointed to a station to one side of the dining area and said, "Salsas!" Sadly the salsa cups were tiny. I could barely fit any pickled onions inside. There were also some big jugs of various agua frescas there, nestled in ice. The "Taconazo" consisted of LOTS of onions, peppers, cheese, crispy bacon(!), cactus, and strips of steak. I liked it quite a bit. There was a bit of trouble at the end. My food was 15.99 but my bill was $21. So I asked for a itemized bill (tips weren't included). Turned out they'd charged me $2.99 for a fountain drink, but I'd only had water. I showed them the error. Rather than change the bill, they just handed me $3 in bills so that worked. (Yes I tipped.) Anyway good food with only minor glitches, and I'll be trying it again.

The birria and sides were as good as other places we've gone to without the inflated prices.
