Carne asada torta and carne asada and birria tacos

My friend invited a group of six of us to try this place. I'm on a taco kick, so I was excited to try! The vibe/branding is super adorable!! It feels very fun to me. I got two Al pastor tacos and a chicken one. Both were pretty good, but I wanted the meat to be a little juicier. I liked the pineapple on them! People were pretty happy with their meals. My husband and I got some chips and salsa. The chips felt like they are made in house. For the salsa they just gave us a bigger cup to fill up from the salsa bar, so I'd probably just get the chips in the future. They have a fridge full of drinks and they have Diet Coke. It is in a plastic bottle. Overall, it was good!

Food & service were both great, meat was very tender and tasty. The spicy salsas had a kick and were also good. Would totally recommend.

    Prices and meat choices.

Wanted to like this place, but it fell short. The tacos were bland, the portions were small for the price, and the overall quality wasn't what I expected. Service was fine, but the food needs improvement. Not a lot of meat choices even though their wall mentions other meats. One taco is $3.49! Be prepared to hurt your pockets.

Service was so quick and kind, tacos were some of the best street tacos I've ever had all the food was so fresh. The whole vibe of this place screams modern meets traditional and I love it. This place is amazing and I will be coming here again!

The tacos are delicious. Will definitely be coming back. The sauces are good but are a bit spicy.

The total came out to about $30, which at first felt a little expensive for tacos, but once we got them we realized these definitely aren't your regular street tacos. Each one came with fresh homemade flour tortillas, fried cheese, sauce, and toppings that were different depending on the meat. My favorites were the chicken and steak tacos. The al pastor was still good, just not my personal favorite. It was a little sweet.. it kind of reminded me of a Mexican candy I've had before, but I still can't quite put my finger on it. The service was friendly, but our food did take a while to come out.

Everything was good and there was no issue with the meat. The place was very clean and had a homey feel. They definitely stick with their dinosaur brand haha. Will definitely come back.

I ordered the Beet Salad with Chicken and it was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, and the chicken was cooked perfectly--it's a great choice if you're looking for something light but filling. We also got a side of sweet potato fries. While the flavor was there, they definitely could have used another minute or two in the fryer for some extra crunch, and a little more salt to really make them pop. That being said, the meal was still very enjoyable! It's a clean, inviting space with a menu that has something for everyone. The mashed potatoes are pretty good, but they have a little too much seasoning for my taste. The broccolini is disappointing, however. It comes out cold and almost raw. It's so hard you have to cut it with a knife. The stalks are almost inedible. I love broccolini so I hope management sees this and makes some changes. It would also be nice if this plate came with a dinner roll. Overall, I recommend K88 for a fine dining experience.

I the tortillas weren't really cooked or heated through very well and there was literally no cheese. When I flagged down the young man who seemed to the shift, he very politely told me expensive and they were cutting back on it. When I showed him my taco with literally 2 to 3 tiny shreds of cheese on it, instead of the cooked cheese shell that I was accustomed to, he was like "oh whoa that's not enough!" no kidding. Additionally, the meat was overcooked, kind of crispy and crunchy as opposed to being tender or juicy. We each got two tacos, we each got the bird and my husband got a Memphis and I got fleeing Californian. None of them were up to smoked taco standards. I tried to leave a review through their website and what I got was "Sorry this seems like Spam so you can't submit this review." How to lose a in one visit. This would be the way. But I'm sad because they really did have something unique going for them, very tasty. Very intriguing mix of flavors. But you gotta bring back the cheese guys you gotta bring back the cheese and the crispy crust and the tender meat because that's why we showed up in the first place.

Our oldest grandson said the carnitas tacos were too good--he ate six of them. My arrachera steak had a great flavor, and the side of onions and portobella mushrooms was generous and perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed the tasty glazed carrots. My husband's bone-in short rib birria was melt-in-your-mouth tender and enough to feed two people. Unfortunately, I had to deduct a star because of a safety issue. The arrachera was served on a hot stone placed on a wooden board. When it arrived at our table, the stone was still so hot it was spitting droplets of fat. Being short in stature, I was right in the line of fire. Also, metal absorbs heat, so the steak knife leaning against the stone was too hot to touch. Another problem with this serving method is that a medium rare steak can quickly become well done. Anyway, I had to transfer the food to a plate before I could eat it. I strongly urge the chefs or waiters to plate the arrachera in the kitchen, even if the presentation isn't as dramatic.

Like most Mexican restaurants, they start you off with chips and salsa. The salsa itself was pretty good and had a kick to it that kind of surprised us. I ordered the shrimp tacos, and they were good, but I felt like they were missing something, so I ended up adding the salsa from the chips onto the tacos. The rice and beans unfortunately lacked flavor, and I honestly couldn't finish them. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas, but they accidentally brought him a tamale and chile relleno instead. I wanted to say something, but he just wanted to let it go and eat it anyway. The tamale was pretty good, and he didn't mind the chile relleno either. Overall, not a terrible experience, just not somewhere I'd personally rush back to.
