I should've taken pictures of our meals, but I just wanted to say that the food was nutritious. I ordered the carne asada tacos (comes with 3 tacos, rice, and beans) the asada meat didn't even look or taste like actual carne asada with 0 seasoning. It tasted like I was eating rubber hamburger meat that beens sitting out for weeks. The rice tasted like dried up plastic and the beans had absolutely zero flavor. The food tasted like what they would serve at a local ran down nursing home. Don't waste your money here on unseasoned unauthentic food that's been heated up in a microwave from a great value Walmart frozen dinner tray. We need Gordon Ramsey from kitchen nightmares to come fix this disaster. You can't even call this place a mexican restaurant at this point... they serve "cheese sauce" instead of queso (enough said with that) read more

Let me start off with, this is no where near an authentic Mexican food experience. The meat was lacking any flavor whatsoever, it looked like hooves and I'm not making this up. Beans and rice tasted like air, and the rice was definitely very reheated. This food lacks any authenticity, and is purely a white persons mexican restaurant. Authentic.. Not at all. I consider myself a blaxican because I'm a Black Woman that love Mexican cuisine which I eat and cook at least 3 times a week. The guacamole was a store bought paste. Refried beans the same. I ordered the Del Mar Seafood Fajita why was Nothing like the beautiful picture! It lacked fish and had scallops the size of a Pea. After moving from the East Coast and trying out some Mexican restaurants in ND we are sold on Mi Mexico. The menu is a book (almost as many items at the Cheesecake Factory!) The chips before our meal were very good. I will try a different salsa next time something hotter to go with the chips. The original and peach margaritas were great and I can honestly say Mi Mexico has the best tacos I've ever get had in the states! it took me back to Mexico! transplants from Texas. the hostess who sat us was very nice, the staff is very nice. the food is American-Mexican food. not alot of seasoning was used. we both thought it was bland. not authentic by any stretch of the imagination. my husband ordered fajitas, and they were just okay. his tortillas were cold even though they were wrapped in foil. I got a combo plate, meh. I added salt, pepper and salsa. I couldn't finish it. the menu looks promising when you read it but the food fell flat. my husband's margarita was blah it wasn't fresh tasting. not a good experience, stay home and make your own Mexican food. read more

Ordered carne asada medium rare, the steak looked like it has been ran over by a semi truck 10 times and tasted like rubber. I asked to change my meal and they said i had to pay for both meals if i did. The steak was no bigger than a McDonald's patty and they charge $19 for it! I consummated this relationship with 3 ground beef tacos a quesadilla and a side of beans and rice; I washed it al down with a Modelo Especial. My check without tip was about 30 bucks. A pretty decent lunch in a small, yet quaint and seeming super authentic Mexican food joint on the corner. However, Wasn't a fan of the chips and salsa. The salsa was more like hot sauce and the chips were more less chip than they were hardened corn paste...if corn paste is a thing.... Took a good friend out to dinner. She and I both had shrimp dishes (she the fajitas and me the spicy shrimp entree) and we both enjoyed them. My husband had a beef and chicken enchilada and was disappointed that the meats did not have more flavor. We had margaritas and compared to others we've had they were not the best. Spent a good amount of money on a birthday party. the service was amazing they were very helpful and did everything to make our to go order perfect however the carne Asada was over done and dry and I wasn't a very big fan of the cheese they put in the enchiladas. I took a trip to Minot on Thursday 3/19/2019 in the evening, I was looking forward to getting a plate I had eaten at Mi Mexico in the past. On this evening when I arrived the restaurant wasn't that busy and my server seemed to have been having a bad day already. We asked for a drink first and I asked the server for a spicy salsa since I knew they had a spicier salsa than what they normally serve. All of a sudden the manager started putting together 4 tables in the middle and asked our server and bus person to help him with that. She came back with our drinks a few minutes later and she didn't bring the other salsa so I reminded her of that, she seemed upset and by then the manager and host had seated all her tables at the same time and she was now really busy. She was struggling. The big party wasn't there yet only part of it. She took our order and put it in. The order came out within good time but my order was incomplete so I told the young man who brought it out the order was incomplete and he said he would get the rest I thanked him and asked if I could please have some lemons for the fried fish, he said he would get it for me."he never returned " About fifteen minutes later our server came to the table and I informed her I was missing part of my order she rushed to get it but didn't get the lemon for the fried fish, I asked her if she could please get the lemons as she rushed away. About twenty some minutes later I asked a third person for the lemons. The third person was nice and brought me the lemons right away. I did mention to her that I had been waiting for more than twenty minutes already. I finally got my lemons and I started to get my fish ready, I put the lemon and salt on it and go to open the packet on a plate I thought was tortillas and it was tacos:( seriously after waiting for ever for the lemons I was upset. I took the tacos the the host and told him what happened but he was counting receipts. Another person tried to help me and called a manager to my table. The manager offered to take the meal off my tab and he seemed nice but by then my daughter was almost done with her meal and my food was cold so I asked him to take it back. I tried eating the salad that came with the fish but I wasn't able to. I never saw my server again until she finally noticed we were no longer at the table. I tried telling the person at the register how disappointed I was but he didn't seem to care. I traveled far to visit them and the service was not consistent with my past experience. This place is definitely unique and different from many places at home in Hawaii. My husband and I came here for our date night and we got seated pretty quickly. I love the murals on the walls as well as the decor and atmosphere in this restaurant. It was really true to the theme. Our server greeted us, though she did not say her name we were interested in her accent. Turns out she's from Cuba! She was really nice and took our order once we were ready. I'm surprised at how quick the food came out, and it was steaming hot. Which o really enjoyed, I hate cold food or food that's been sitting for awhile. I got fajita quesadillas and the cheese, bell peppers and beef in it were really delicious. I couldn't really enjoy my guacamole or the salsa because it's a little spicy and I'm such a weakling... Anything spicy would just make my tongue burn off. The portions were pretty good servings. I couldn't even finish my plate while my husband finished up his chimichanga. Out server then took his plate away and came back with the check. I understood that this usually happens but I felt rushed during this time. As if I either scarf down my food now or take it out because we got the check so soon. Overall I'd definitely come back here again. I know I don't eat enough Mexican food so I can't compare but so far it's even better than Any other Mexican food I've had. read more

Stopped in for dinner on Sunday..They have added to the menu and there are lots of interesting options. The nacho dishes are very filling and the beef/steak dishes are large as well. I like the atmosphere here, it's nice and everyone is friendly. The location is great so you can either hit up Wal Mart after you finish a meal here, or continue on your way (it's off of Highway 83, and the 2/52 onramp is nearby as well. read more

In less than the three minutes it took to receive and pay I encountered three seemingly very unhappy employees, one of which nearly walked over me with a scowl on his face. I don't know what is going on here, but sounds like the owner/management better figure it out before it adversely affects their clientele on a larger scale. I stopped into this town to do some shopping and repairs, never been here before. As I did some shopping across the parking lot I saw this place that advertised authentic Mexican, so I thought I'd grab a plate to go. Went in decided on #24 Chile relleno burrito and rice. I was charged and told 20 minutes which seemed far to long as not crowded. Since I was just given my credit card receipt, I asked for an itemized and got it, walked outside and saw I was charged more for the plate then on the menu. Walked back in looked at the menu and verified they up charged my dinner $.50. Asked why and was told they have a sign in the back that's what they must do. I asked where is it on the menu or at the register, there was nothing. Then the manager and a 3 women got involved, all speaking Spanish I said wait a minute this conversation is in English. The manager was asking the order taker what else I ordered. The answer is nothing. The manager told me that what they do charge extra for to go, I said you can't without disclosing and not hiding it in the price. She said everyone does. My response was your wrong, I travel the USA full time and if not posted or told they do not rip the customers off by adding hidden charges. I said I want a refund, she said .50 I responded no I want the sales tax refunded also. Went back to my credit card. She tried to say we give complementary chips and salsa with the meal. I said if I dined in I'd get that and then some. By then my food is ready it did not take no 20 minutes. So goodbye thank you I won't be back and I'll review accordingly. Walked out to my rig open the meal looked OK the rice was no flavor wasn't a Mexican rice white rice with a little color to it that's it the burrito so so just a tortilla with some ground meat in it ask for the Chile relleno I don't know what It was wrapped around it I'm used to Chile relleno with egg if this had any egg and it had a lot of other things in it to flour I have no idea but that Chile relleno must've been very very small because all I got was the outside concoction and some liquid cheese and finally towards the stem I was able to get a piece of green chili. The meal was filling but really had no taste or anything for authentic Mexican food maybe authentic to North Dakota yuck. Best part of the meal was the chips And 1 small container of salad , as for the meal itself it lacked proper temperature it wasn't hot the rice wasn't even warm the burrito was OK the Chile Relleno was not hot or warm. We had to wait over 15 minutes for someone to come to our table to take our order. We tried to get someone's attention prior to someone finally coming over but no one would acknowledge us. The crazy thing is, the restaurant was not full and we felt as though the service staff simply did not care about our money or patronage. Just ordered food to go never having been here before. Absolutely worst Mexican food I've ever had. Got an order of shrimp nachos for my son and when we got home, opened it up, it's literally just 7 tortilla chips with very little liquid cheese on the bottom of tin tray and none on the chips and a drizzle over the shrimp. $18 for $5 worth of a child's tray. Also got steak nachos and once again 8 chips (literally the main item in nachos which we didn't get). Burrito I ordered was pitiful. Sour cream (or whatever it was, because I've never tasted it like that before) was piled on top and was twice as tall as the whole burrito by itself. I will not be going back here again. read more

OK mexican food, not bad, but not great or particularly memorable. My tacos were bland, it's like they don't bother seasoning their Barbacoa or Carnitas at all, basically like eating a roast beef or pulled pork taco. Still better than what you'll get at taco bell, but if you're looking for good mexican food, this is not that. I'm used to "authentic" mexican places being on the borderline of too spicy (and I'm a wuss). Their meat had no flavor, even onions and cilantro couldn't save it. Had it delivered by munchies food taxi, so I can't vouch for the service. There are definitely better mexican places in Minot, and that doesn't include fast-food-fake-mex. read more

We absolutely love this place. We've been here three times and love the service we receive. Always greeted & seated in a timely matter. Servers have been kind and fast. Food arrives in timely manner and is great. I've ordered steak fajitas and their enchiladas with tacos platter twice. Their chicken in the enchiladas is AMAZING. Cooked to perfection!
