They have a thriving business not only in the restaurant area, but also the convenience store and butchery. This is not a 5-star restaurant, so don't expect that. As soon as I tasted the beans, which were VERY thin and runny without texture, I realized I was tasting rehydrated bean flakes (I remember the taste from having those once before, elsewhere) so I asked the waitress and I was told they were NOT cooked from scratch. The beans are made from dried refried bean flakes and rehydrated. I believe the rice mixture is the same and it was pretty flavorless as well and had poor texture. Beans and rice are inexpensive and easy to cook from scratch, so I do not understand why any place would serve such inferior food quality. We had a very nice server. I doubt we will be back to purchase pre-made food in the restaurant part of the market, but may stop in to purchase some of the grocery items (dried peppers, dried beans, etc.). I might consider stopping in to get a pork tamale to go to see how they are. They are steamed in corn husks. When I want good quality tacos, rice and beans, I will go somewhere else for that.

The only thing I didn't see was portobello Mushrooms. I immediately noticed the clientele was mixed ethnicity. Wow, the store was playing Spanish music and there were aisles of Hispanic products. Upon entering, you'll see shirts, CDs and other items, don't let it fool you, as the food is yet to come. Entering the second zone you will find the cheeses, meats and fruits. The ripe plantains are excellent for making maduros! The yucca root's are by far the best we've bought anywhere in recent memory. My wife loved the chorizo she purchased there and they have a good selection of Latin cheeses. The third area is where you'll find all of the packaged items, but it also has a little fresh empanada case and in the back a small deli. It is also the only place anywhere that we've lived in the US where they sell both the yellow and white harina used for making arepas (a venezuelan/columbian sandwich like dish), as well as the meal for making pupusas. The pricing for most all items is exceedingly reasonable, given the size of the store! So as someone used to say, the wrapping is not what's important, it's whats on the inside that counts, and for sure what's on the inside of Mi Rincon Latino is perfect for those wishing to cook Latin cuisine.
