After driving by Mi Pana Burger countless times, my husband and I decided to swing by to grab a bite to bring home last weekend. It's located within the parking lot of the Westar on Coral Way and Red Road. Open until 2:00 am on the weekends, it's a favorite for late night bites but hit the spot sober, as well! We ordered a pepito el pana with chicken, arepa reina pepiada, and Nutella tequeño. I'm by no means an expert in Venezuelan food but can say my pepito hit the spot. It was quite large, so lasted me two meals and was loaded with chicken, cheese, sauce, potato strings, and lettuce. My husband also enjoyed his arepa, while the tequeño was all that I could've hoped for and more. They're small though so definitely getting at least two of those next time! The food took about 25 minutes which was a little longer than we expected or hoped for. There weren't too many people here but definitely a steady flow, so things got backed up as the truck is tiny and they make everything fresh. The cutest little boy working the window softened the blow a little bit. All in all, I'm happy we satisfied our curiosity and finally stopped by to try. We both said we'd go back to try some different items, but maybe order ahead via Yelp next time. read more

They are 0.7 miles away from Nicklaus Children's hospital yet the food was cold, make it make sense .. Common sense isn't common cause if you have a special (salchipapa) for buy one get one free you'd expect them to send the whole order and not half the order. Asked for a sprite got a Coke lol. Asked for sauces on the side didn't even get that. They don't pay attention to detail at all, makes me wonder if people really enjoy the food , or if they pay or force people to write good things about them. You are less than a mile away.. didn't even get 2 hot dogs for the hot dog special with soda and fries were absolutely horrible. I've heard owner is rude , l'd be rude to if I owned a good for nothing food truck. I have reached out to all of Nicklaus Children hospitals employees and patients to not order from you. My first thought was that this is expensive for fast food from a food truck. You get the arepa with some shredded cheese and large steak chunks. So I literally parked in front of a gas pump (I'm glad I didn't get towed). I ordered a hot dog with a Frescolita (Venezuelan soda). The hot dog was tasty, and had quite a few toppings. It had mustard, mayo, ketchup, and potato sticks (papitas fritas) as toppings. The hot dog was pretty big, I couldn't finish it. My meal cost $6, not bad. That was the cheapest meal on their menu though. Some things I felt were too pricey, like I would never pay $9 for an arepa. The service was good. The two employees in the truck were very nice. They recommended that my friend get a shark empanada, and she enjoyed it. Before we left, one of them asked us what are we going to try the next time we go...... Pretty confident guy, lol, but he was still very nice. I'm not too crazy about going back because the parking was a hassle, and the rest of the menu is outside of my budget. Worst Venezuelan arepas I have had in my whole life. It does look like the pepitos and burgers are Ok. But the arepas are a disgrace. The reina pepiadas were horrible, i literally threw them away and ordered delivery from somewhere else. The chicken was poorly cooked and cut in squares, wtf? Little to no avocado and some weird sauce, just tasted funky. The tequenos also tasted weird, edible but bad. Let me add some color... the prices are as expensive as a restaurant. Which is OK for a food truck if the food is good. It isn't. There's a difference between being creative with a recipe and just lazy. This is the second. Cooking is all about the raw ingredients, and from the ham to the cheese you can tell that they arent what you should be paying $9 for an arepa. I ordered mine with extra "queso de mano" but it was a completely different thing than that, I know that we are in Miami and the cheese here isn't the same as in Venezuela, but that cheese was like liquid and without any taste...there are 3 kinds of sauce that you can take to your table (the 3 of them taste the same). Tequenos are good! Parking isn't that bad, you can park wherever you want (it's in a gas station). I love this little truck--let me start by saying that if you really want to enjoy Mi Pana Burger, it is best to physically go to the truck. Skip Uber--the food always arrives soggy and really unsavory. With that said, I went for the first time (to the physical truck) to grab a bite with my husband.
