Short and sweet.....the pizzas are extremely salty. I'd suggest creating a pizza with 1/2 the salt involved.

Decent Italian food. Far from the best, but it's okay. Place is often dirty, flavor lacks, but it's as good as it gets for Italian food in Odessa. Gotten sick here a few times, I would suggest not ordering any pastas with seafood, pork or beef. The bread and soup is good, and the pizza is great but not worth the price. read more

I've been eating out everyday for almost a month and by far Josie was the BEST waitress I've had yet. The FREE bread was amazing, soft, warm, and garlicky. The hot oil was a perfect compliment to it. The calzone was the size of an infant, easily enough for 3 people on its own. The sausage pizziola pasta had to be made with a pound of pasta. The chefs combo was rich with cheese and hearty meat sauce. We even made new friends with the people eating at the table next to us. Amazing place to eat. My family loves coming here when we are in the mood for Italian food. The portions are massive and delicious. You start with garlic bread that has just the right amount of garlic. My kids love the fettuccine Alfredo. There is something for everyone. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive. This last time we went the gentleman (he has an Italian accent, I don't remember his name) was the best server I have ever had at a restaurant. The only reason I gave it a four star was because I ordered the lobster ravioli and the pieces of what I thought were lobster was actually imitation, but it was still delicious. Mmm, I just saw someone's review of this place and it made me hungry. "I Like It," my family normally gets food to go from here, the dining atmosphere is kinda boring, but it isn't bad, I just think that they could stand to maybe spend a little money updating the place. I do like that you can bring your own beer and wine in, but they also have wine *confused look* I'm not asking questions, I just accept that I can get drunk on my own stuff or on theirs. Actually, I think they just sample wines to try to get you to buy it and bring it yourself. Anyhow, on to the important stuff... FOOD! Mi Piaci always gives you a ton of these buttery, garlic-ly, delicious rolls, too many really, they don't skimp. I love their fettucini alfredo, though when heating up leftovers it is EXTREMELY greasy and will make your arteries hurt, so my advice is just to eat it all up front. I can never remember the name of my favorite dish from here as they've changed the name like 3 times. Anyway, it is Chicken and shrimp over spaghetti tossed in a pink sauce with mushrooms and artichokes. If you find it on the menu, eat it and maybe send me a message with the name. I prefer local joints to chains when traveling. Mi Piaci was recommended so I gave it a try. I arrived around 910pm and they were getting ready to close. Since I was alone (and I told them I'd be quick), the host went ahead and sat me. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but was nice inside. It looks larger than you think because after about 10 minutes, a large group of women (probably 15-20) came out from another area. I was quite surprised because I didn't even hear them! And you KNOW how much us women like to talk! :P Juan was my server and he was excellent. I had the chicken rollitini on his suggestion. It was very good but way too much food for just one. I had 3 other servers stop by and ask if I needed anything but not in a buggy/pestering sort of way. Truly sincere and helpful. Unfortunately, a disappointing experience. Previous reviews made us excited about eating here, but I would rank it average to below average. Server was a nice guy, but seemed to have little wait experience and did NOT know the menu or the specials. Also, he was in a black random logo t-shirt, which seems inappropriate in a restaurant with $16 - 18 entrees. He never brought the appetizer we ordered and forgot our soup and Caesar salad until AFTER he had brought our entrees. Food, too, was average to below average. We had chosen this restaurant over Olive Garden or Carino's, either of which would have been better. The garlic rolls brought to the table to open things up were the star of the meal, seemingly homemade and tasty, but sadly we were only provided margarine instead of butter to go with them. The pasta e faglioli soup tasted suspiciously like slow cooked pinto beans and arrived after my veal Parmesan, which I would swear was frozen breaded veal cutlets deep fried with marinara. My wife ordered a new off-menu item (on the board at the entrance, unknown to our waiter), chicken Jerusalem, with lemons and artichoke hearts, but virtually no sauce, rendering it with little flavor. Desserts were ok, but clearly frozen from the food distributor. Despite the promise of other reviews, I would rate this 'short-order cook' Italian food and not worth a special trip or the price charged. Sorry guys. read more

Simple pizza and pasta 2.) the second orders came out 25 minutes later 2.1) the pizza on the second order came out 20 minutes after the rest of the table. 3.) when asked what the issue was the manager replied "it's not my fault the order was late" then contested with the table that the food was correct the first time. No one offered us refills after the first 10 minutes, no one offered a to-go box, they failed to split the check correctly. I've been here a couple times, and usually order pasta. The saving grace is the portion size, which is huge for one person and the garlic bread which is delicious. Otherwise the pasta is bland. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was pleasant. They bring a HUGE basket of rolls immediately and they are delicious garlic rolls. The pasta dishes come with a side salad or soup. My coworker and I both got salads and not only did they come out fast, they were quite large for a side. I ordered a balsamic vinegarette, but don't recommend it unless you like a tomato based salad dressing. It came on the side, along with the croutons, and the server was very nice about bringing me Italian instead. The food came out while we were still eating salad...very quickly. The pasta dish was also quite large and looked amazing. Full of fresh veggies and shrimp...it definitely didn't skimp on anything. Enough food for two! 4 stars for being in Odessa but really more on the 3.5 side. The quick review: very good food, attentive and friendly service, BYOB, but the floor is dirty. As we entered the restaurant, a couple leaving gave us an unsolicited rave review about their pizza. After being seated, we were immediately brought garlic bread, water and our wine was opened. We started with house salads which is nothing more than the mixed bag of iceberg and shredded carrots. They didn't even dress it up with croutons. The house dressing was like a catalina with some added oregano which was tasty. We asked for a recommendation on an entree to split. We went with one of the house specialties, all of which seem to be some variation of chicken, shrimp, artichoke, mushrooms and then a different sauce. Ours was a pink sauce, and it was delicious and HUGE. There is no way one person could (or should) finish the plate. We were still raving about it a day later. I will go back and try the pizza; it looked delicious with a thin crispy crust. The only disturbing thing about the meal was how filthy the floors were. My feet were stuck to it. The trip to the bathroom proved my booth was not an isolated incident. The floor grunge was everywhere. read more

I'm not a food or restaurant snob. I was actually looking forward to what appeared to be a hole in the wall Italian joint in Odessa, Texas. On the waiter's suggestion, my BFF and I shared the chicken rollatini. You get complimentary rolls and soup or salad with it. We opted for the cream of mushroom soup. The rolls were old. Not fresh. And they're the generic pop in the oven garlic rolls you see at most "italian" restaurants. These however lacked any buttery or garlic flavor. The flavor of the cream of mushroom was good, but it wasn't exactly cream and also didn't appear fresh. And the chicken rollatini... well, what you get is chicken rolled around imitation crab meat, fried, and set atop over cooked spaghetti and drenched in a white flavorless sauce. If you're a local, maybe this is as good as it gets, and you should keep right on coming here. And maybe we just ordered the wrong food. So, I read a few reviews, most good. And then a co-worker, born in Italy told me this was the place. So, tonight we got a first look and WOW. If you want friendly folks, home made Italiano, great food, you have got to go here. Mike is a friendly greeter and a bullet proof server. Patient, had great recommendations (try the hot oil-crazy!), and gave me a tour of 2-banquets rooms. If you're gonna have a party of 20-50-folks...this is your place. And they don't charge for the room (they should start...nice digs). 15-minutes for some amazing "Chef" entrees and the pizza....wow a cheese pizza, the best ever (according to my son). It is a must have...and it was cheese! What the heck is the supreme like....our next visit will have to tell us. Anyway, thanks a ton, a must visit to my friends visiting and our favorite place to eat. Don't forget, BYOB, drink responsibly , but bring a nice beer or wine. read more

We are driving a small truck to California from Tennessee. Tonight's stop is in Odessa, Texas, and we decided to order in pizza.There's a ton of crumby pizza in the world, so we spent some time looking for a good one. Mi Piaci came recommended by the food delivery service that brought the pizza to our hotel room, so it was a bit of a crapshoot. We ordered a large pizza, Half was with pepperoni, spinach and cheese; half with all of that plus jalapenos. The thin crust pizza was large and delicious. It was pretty expensive to order, once you factor in the delivery charge. But, if you happen to be traveling through town, you can't go wrong with this option. read more

My boyfriend and I have gone to Mi Piaci on 4 different occasions. My review is an overview on observations from the combined visits. 1. I love the fettuccine alfredo. It is creamy and peppery as it should be. Yummy! 2. The marinara topped pastas need some improvement. Each time I ordered lasagna and/or ravioli they were literally DROWNED with a massive amount of marinara which really overpowered any other flavors in the dish. If they were more light handed with the sauce it would be good. 3. On one occasion I ordered the garlic cheese bread appetizer, but it had chunks of garlic throughout. Biting into a big chunk of garlic is not a pleasing experience. Yuck! Had it not been for the garlic chunks, it would have been good. 4. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich is good, but doesn't come with any side at all. It should come with a side of fries or chips to make it a meal. 5. Service is OK. Just OK. The place is small and can get backed up quickly in a short amount of time. We warred about 5 minutes just to pay. Not acceptable. Overall, the place is good, but it is overrated. We've been to the restaurant many times and love the food and the service is normally very good but this time it just did not live up. To start off we were seated and the hostess just lays the menus on the table then goes on to the next table to continue talking to her friend. Then we waited about 10 minutes and the waitress walked past us twice without getting our drink order but did get the drinks for the people who came in a few minutes after us. We waited 5-10 more minutes and the waitress has now walked past us 3-4 more times and two other groups have been seated and taken care of when we hadn't even been greeted by our waitress... very sad because we really wanted the food. We will go back for the food but if the service isn't better we probably won't be back. read more

My family and I love this place. It's a cute local spot and the food is always yummy. My 5 year old can eat her weight in the garlic knots and my son is obsessed with the lasagna. I usually get the spinach lasagna as I don't eat meat and it's always delicious and my husband usually orders what they have as specials or new item (he's the adventurous one).
