This place is a gem. I guess you need to drive over half an hour drive from Naples to get a real authentic Mexican food. This place did not disappoint. I just wish they have more items on the menu. Everything was delish. My only complaint is the margarita didn't have enough alcohol in it but it was good. Service is great. Everything was amazing. We ordered Carnitas Burrito which was huge. Taco special, 3 tacos with rice and beans. I don't know what the name of the other item but it had cactus, cheese, meats. Chips and salsa was delish and the cheese dip was addicting. Don't let the outside of their building fool you - inside, some good food waits for him. I was very surprised that their salsa was served warm, and I found, that I liked it that way! It was smooth, just spicy enough, and was the best part of the meal for one of my companions. I got two tongue tacos, and was very happy to see that I could order them in flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas. I have to say, these were some of the best tongue tacos I've ever eaten, and I have eaten quite a few. Very tender and tasty. My friend L got a chicken quesadilla, which she let me have a piece of. The tortilla had a slight char on it, which was nice, and there was plenty of chicken and plenty of cheese inside. She was a little disappointed they forgot to bring her the sour cream that was supposed to come with it, but the warm salsa saved her day. My friend J got a combination platter with a taco, enchilada, and burrito. It also came with rice and beans. His eyes bugged out when he saw how much food was on his plate, but he managed to finish most of it. He said he thought the taco was "bland", but again, the warm salsa that had come with the chips kept him from whining about it. Overall, I'd say we had a very good and inexpensive lunch. We took a quickie field trip to Ave Maria to check out the new home models. After, we decided to eat Mexican food at nearby Immokalee. The reviews for Mi Ranchito were so good that we just had to go because I know my little yelpers never steer me wrong. Sure enough, the service was amazing and the food was delicious!! Plus, I had one of the best tasting margaritas ever! The chips and salsa they bring out are fresh and very good. We ordered a menudo/mondongo soup and a steak Burrito which was huge, and a soda. Immokalee is a farming community about 20-30 miles from Fort Myers or North Naples. Beside the produce and citrus, it is known for its Seminole Casino serving the nearby communities. Many bodegas, taqueria, and restaurants are known for their authentic Mexican culture. We must pass Mi Ranchito countless times, finally we decided to sample their Mexican cuisine after recommendation from our Yelp friend, Linda A. Be careful, the restaurant sign is not big and you can easily past their parking lot! The décor is simple. A few artworks on the wall exemplifying the Mexican cuisine. As we walk in, we see many Mexican congregate in the restaurant! You sit in any available table and immediately, a smiling waitress will bring a salsa with chips and menu! We simply ordered a soda and a horchata to hydrate ourselves! The cinnamon stick on the horchata added the extra flavor to drink. One of best horchata I had! For the entrée, wife order the plato de carne guisada or beef chunks cooked in gravy sauce. The beef chunks melt in your mouth! The refried bean and rice are exquisitely accompanying the beef. My order of Camerones a la Diabla cooked with fresh shrimps in a hot and spicy sauce. The heat was too much for my wife but I simply love it! Our original plan to visit the connecting ice cream shop for dessert was scratched . The portion here is huge! That leave us no room for dessert!
