    Festive!

We got here at opening...so we picked a seat and had service straight away. I ordered a sweet tea...and it was, so sweet! But I still enjoyed it. The dish I ordered was authentic and seasoned well...reminded me of home! Loved the rice and beans, can't beat them when they are made in house. This was authentic, clean and quite spot to have a meal, so I now know where to stop when I'm in town.

Authentic Oxaca Home Cookin' All fresh food well prepared and delicious. Juanita is warm and welcoming. Service was gracious and the waitress well informed and was able to tell our gluten challenged friend all the ingredients in each dish she mentioned. We'll be back to this farm town 28 miles from Naples. This is a local restaurant in an Hispanic agricultural workers town hence the 4:30 opening hour. Workers come for breakfast and take lunch to eat in the fields where they pick the vegetables Juanita cooks for them. The town is friendly and welcoming to visitors. If you want real Mexican food at moderate prices this is the place.

Half filled taco with gooey bacon and a dab of beans it was gross...

The service was amazing, the food wasn't that good but maybe I went on a bad day. I loved their Michelada.

When it gets full and busy.... They do take awhile, but sometimes that's expected. The servers are very nice. Atmosphere is always festive and there is Spanish music on all the TVs have something on them that will catch your attention. Plenty of room inside but they also have outdoor seating. Definitely worth a try when you are in I-town.

We each ordered a drink and shared the Tres amigos dip, which came out immediately with fresh chips, and we were offered multiple Chip refills as we ate. It's definitely not that type of place. COVID seating arrangements are arranged for social distancing and you can always get it to go. There were three of usand we took their recommendations on food selectionsand it was simply delicious. Their house margarita is honestly one of the best plain margaritas I've ever had and I'm not a tequila drinker. But it was tasty and redesigned. The fresh made chips and salsa were a meal in itself. Check them out, as it's 70 miles from Fort Lauderdale and you can visit the Florida Wildlife Panther Reserve which is amazing. There was no friendliness, no effort to make us feel comfortable as customers. We were brought chips that were ice cold, as if they had come straight from a refrigerator. The salsa served with them was also cold. I politely asked if the chips could be warmed, even suggesting the microwave, and was told they "don't do that." I've been to many Mexican restaurants, and warm chips are standard, so this was already disappointing. Unfortunately, it only got worse. The waitress said her name was Karen--which I honestly doubt, given the amount of negative reviews mentioning poor customer service. It felt more like a name used to avoid accountability. When it came time to order, I clearly told her it was my first time there and asked for guidance on what to order. She offered no help at all. When I asked about substitutions, I was shut down immediately without explanation or effort. Her communication was minimal, dismissive, and rude. The attitude throughout the night was very clear: "what you see is what you get." By the time the food arrived, we were so uncomfortable that we simply asked for boxes and left. That says everything. I can't say whether race played a role, but I can say the environment was unwelcoming, the service was terrible, and the food experience did not make up for it at all. Based on the many similar reviews I've since seen, this seems to be a pattern--not a one-off experience. I would not recommend this place unless major changes are made to both customer service and food quality.
