The tacos are amazing. Their burritos are crispy on the outside and the food is delicious on the inside. Their prices are worth it 100% and though I hope they don't go up any time soon, they are worth every penny. It's a small place, only two or three tables so you are forced to order to go often but if you're there when they open, man it's nice to sit down. Young girl at the counter was friendly and attentive. Indoor seating is a bit limited, though there is some outdoor seating as well. They have a very extensive menu of traditional Mexican fare. For lunch, I ordered the Elote, Chips and Guacamole, and the Al Pastor Tacos. The Elote was a huge size and the spices were well-balanced. The guacamole was fresh and had a nice lime kick to it. Chips were crispy. The tacos were so flavorful and filling! Everything was cooked to perfection. My mom and I also shared a horchata drink. This drink was amazing! I had three tacos al pastor and they were incredibly good. Maria makes salsa verde and salsa rojo, and the tortillas are freshly made. The pork was seasoned perfectly and honestly I could have stayed and eaten 6 more tacos. They have a place in Bonita Springs that is apparently really good too. The ambiance here is very nice with Mexican folk art adorning the walls, it's a small space but very welcoming. Am I being pranked? I swear folks, I'm never this lucky! And I'll be honest, having an authentic and delicious Mexican taco spot within walking distance from my doorstep makes up for all the years I never won a contest or was selected the lead role of my class plays. So this is what lucky feels like! Haha It's small, it's mainly for carry out, but eating in is great as well if you are a 1-2 ppl. Tacos are the real-deal Holyfield with no chipotle aioli or green mango salsa mumbo jumbo, it's the real stuff Mexicans eat that made tacos famous! The variety here includes all of the classics and even some of the specialty. Carne asada is excellent, al pastor is mouthwatering, barbacoa (made with lamb btw) was a treat. Side note is that they have us a small portion of "consomé" from the barbacoa and it was heavenly, like an au jus that you can dip the taco in! BUT without a doubt the best overall were the Lengua (beef tongue) tacos and tripa (tripe) tacos which I always ask to be made "doraditos"which means well done, these were easily THE BEST tacos I've had in North Naples. Remember to squeeze plenty of lime, plus it comes with a side of fresh cucumber and radish slices. Traditional Mexican sodas on deck, but my suggestion is try the aguas frescas! Tamarindo was so so soo good, perfectly tart and refreshing. The horchata was also tasty and perfect companion when you're loading your tacos with extra hot salsa. The creamy cinnamon-y flavor cools your burning buds in such a perfect way. Try them! This is the real deal if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. It's what it should be the gem hole in the wall kind of spot. I have been looking for the perfect burrito for some while, not that I am an expert by any means, Maria's has it. I went traditional with the gold standard ,Al Pastor - it was outstanding. It was more than enough for me and will take my wife next time so we can share, which we often do as we like to be a little calorie conscious when eating out! I was on my own inside which only accommodates three table settings when a bunch of Hispanic workmen came in for take out - a good sign if any about the food and value. This location is very small with about three seats inside taking over the previously owned Rumba Cafe location next to Joe's Diner. They are more outfitted for takeout specializing in Street Tacos. They serve 9 types of tacos which include some of their more famously known types like Al Pastor and Carnitas to Cachete (beef cheeks), Lengua (Cow tongue) and tripe tacos. According to Jose, the Al Pastor, Cachete and Carnita tacos are a must try. They also serve, burritos, chimichangas, gorditas, nachos, tamales, quesadillas and flan along with Horchata, beer, wine and Jarrito soda. Whenever trying a New Mexican place for the first time, I order the Al Pastor items as it's the Gold Medal standard for authentic Mexican Tacos. If they can't get this right, I've got issues and concerns. I ordered two corn tortilla Al Pastor Tacos and one Al Pastor Gordita. Made by, Jose himself, these came out looking gorgeous while super hot and fresh. The marinated pork was perfectly charred while succulent on the inside and full of flavor. The corn tortillas were nice and crispy providing a good canvas to hold everything in. Served with onions and cilantro with a side of their homemade green and red sauce. The Gordita which is a little corn cake made from masa dough then stuffed with your protein of choice, white cheese, onion and cilantro was another great edition to a perfect first experience to this location. Service was great, food was excellent and if you want some delicious tacos at a reasonable price for takeout, this place is perfect! What should have been 4 or 5 stars got taken to 3; oops, now I mean a 2 star (since the girl working the register just dropped the food on my table and stormed away, obviously pissed off that I simply wanted them to make me what I actually ordered). Anyway, as I was saying before she did that, the young girl at the register was doing everything in her power to avoid giving me what I asked for, even though she finally admitted she wrote my order down incorrectly. It seemed as if she was concerned that her boss (perhaps parents) were going to be mad with her, so she was trying to hide it from them. She literally tried to even convince me that all the quesadillas came with chicken, even though they clearly are offered as steak, chicken or cheese only. She also wrote the enchilada order down wrong, giving us steak vs chicken; but my son was so hungry he devoured it so I didn't even mention those being wrong too. Now that I've vented about the horrible service, the food is awesome (minus the rice... bland, flavorless, nothing special) We had Steak enchiladas (though ordered chicken); Azado Tacos, Chicken Gorditas, Cheese quesadilla, a bite of chicken quesadilla (that was incorrectly entered by the girl at register), Pico and chips. The music is also pretty up beat, not what you typically expect walking into a little taco shop. Unfortunately, after the girl making it out I be my fault that she screwed up our order, and then being a little s-head about it, it's doubtful I'll give them another chance to redeem themselves... plenty of good Mexican in this town where staff appreciate the business, can actually manage to write an order for 2 people down correctly... but if they do screw something up, don't try to make it out to be the customers fault. read more
