Elote
Evangelia L.

This is a solid authentic Mexican eatery in SWFL. Hands down one of the best tacos I've ever had. Don't sleep on this hidden gem! Restaurant is bright, colorful, and nicely decorated! Young girl at the counter was friendly and attentive. Indoor seating is a bit limited, though there is some outdoor seating as well. They have a very extensive menu of traditional Mexican fare. For lunch, I ordered the Elote, Chips and Guacamole, and the Al Pastor Tacos. The Elote was a huge size and the spices were well-balanced. The guacamole was fresh and had a nice lime kick to it. Chips were crispy. The tacos were so flavorful and filling! Everything was cooked to perfection. My mom and I also shared a horchata drink. This drink was amazing! Very similar taste to rice pudding, but in liquid form. Great amounts of milk and cinnamon. Overall the prices were very reasonable and I would definitely come back for another Mexican food craving :) Highly recommend!

Six tacos

We went here after finding out that Joe's Diner closes at 2. We got 6 tacos that were all tasty but we should have ordered some additional food to fill out our lunch. The people who worked here were friendly and our food was ready quickly. They have a few tables inside and two tables on the sidewalk outside.

Maria Tacos!!

Good spot. Very friendly staff. BOGO taco day today. The burritos are also great. Not to sure what the red sauce is but it's just the right amount of hot. Will definitely be back. It a hole in the wall with great food priced right. They will also make your tacos Gringo style lol

Tacos al pastor... already crushed one before taking the photo!

I had three tacos al pastor and they were incredibly good. Maria makes salsa verde and salsa rojo, and the tortillas are freshly made. The pork was seasoned perfectly and honestly I could have stayed and eaten 6 more tacos. They have a place in Bonita Springs that is apparently really good too. The ambiance here is very nice with Mexican folk art adorning the walls, it's a small space but very welcoming. Full points for excellent service and some of the best tacos I've ever eaten.

Carnitas burrito

Might be the best burrito in Naples! Made fresh to order and packed with meat, rice, refried beans, lettuce, and salsa. Counter service with a couple of tables to dine in, but definitely feels more like a takeout spot. You certainly won't be hungry after a visit to Maria's.

Ground beef taco & Al pastor taco

I loved the colorful decor and they had outdoor seating as well but it was hot so we sat inside. I ordered two tacos, one Al Pastor & ground beef. Also ordered some guacamole and chips. All the food was fresh & tasted great!

Consomé de barbacoa was heavenly

Am I being pranked? I swear folks, I'm never this lucky! And I'll be honest, having an authentic and delicious Mexican taco spot within walking distance from my doorstep makes up for all the years I never won a contest or was selected the lead role of my class plays. So this is what lucky feels like! Haha It's small, it's mainly for carry out, but eating in is great as well if you are a 1-2 ppl. Tacos are the real-deal Holyfield with no chipotle aioli or green mango salsa mumbo jumbo, it's the real stuff Mexicans eat that made tacos famous! The variety here includes all of the classics and even some of the specialty. Carne asada is excellent, al pastor is mouthwatering, barbacoa (made with lamb btw) was a treat. Side note is that they have us a small portion of "consomé" from the barbacoa and it was heavenly, like an au jus that you can dip the taco in! BUT without a doubt the best overall were the Lengua (beef tongue) tacos and tripa (tripe) tacos which I always ask to be made "doraditos"which means well done, these were easily THE BEST tacos I've had in North Naples. Remember to squeeze plenty of lime, plus it comes with a side of fresh cucumber and radish slices. Traditional Mexican sodas on deck, but my suggestion is try the aguas frescas! Tamarindo was so so soo good, perfectly tart and refreshing. The horchata was also tasty and perfect companion when you're loading your tacos with extra hot salsa. The creamy cinnamon-y flavor cools your burning buds in such a perfect way. Try them! Place is right around the corner from me, so plus there Food is bomb.com, so plus there Drinks are fresh made and wonderful, plus Price is Right at $3 a taco, big plus And the owners were very nice and humble folks who love making good tacos and keeping the price fair. I will become a regular so I will go ahead and bump them to a 5 right now.

Mole enchiladas
Jarrett P.

Really phenomenal. I'm from out of town and I was really looking for amazing mexican food while visiting and this place is legit. Very kind and quick service. The best mole I've ever had.

Menu updated 7/19/24

I got the fish and shrimp taco special which was $15. It seems a bit pricey for the portion that I received. I wanted the tamale but they are only sold on Thursday. I added updated price menu for everyone.

Maria's Tacos has great tamales but they only serve them on Thursdays, I also recommend their tres leches cake.

Best Mexican food in Naples. We got the tacos and the enchiladas. The meat was so flavorful but the sauce on the enchiladas was incredible!

What A Great Place! As were driving down the street towards…read morethe Naples Botanical Garden, we passed a brewery and next to it was this small Mexican restaurant. How perfect. After our nature visit, we could stop for a beverage, then get a late lunch next door. Well let me tell you, this is legit authentic Mexican. We walked over from the brewery next door. There's a patio out front with tables and umbrellas, but it was scorchingly hot and we wanted to sit inside. Not too many tables as it's small, but one opened up for the three of us. A very polite server provided menus and took our drink orders. My daughter and I both had Micheladas. You can select what beer you want in the mix. I had Modelo Negro, my daughter selected Modelo Especial. My wife had a bottle of water. No tap water here, you need to buy the bottle. We studied the menu trying to decide what to get. Everything we could see others eating looked great and tacos seemed to be the popular meal. Our Micheladas came out and these were festive. Large mugs, rimmed with a pretty zippy tahin and pepper blend, filled with the beer and a slightly spicy tomato juice mix. Very flavorful. A something new for us was the addition of a tamarind straw. It's a plastic straw, covered with a sweet spicy tamarind blend. They actually call it candy. You use it to stir your drink and then nibble on the candy. What a great fun thing to add to a drink. By the way, the Michelada was excellent. I enjoyed licking the tajin seasoned rim with each sip, just like a salted rim on a margarita. Still studying the menu, we ordered the Choriqueso appetizer. The basket came out with fresh fried corn tortilla chips and a bowl of queso cheese with chorizo sausage crumbled into it. Runnier than most cheese dips we're used to, but enjoyable nonetheless. Finally we ordered our meals. Al Pastor Tacos for my wife, Chorizo and Steak Tacos and Quesabirria Quesadilla for my daughter and Caldo de Camaron for myself. In just a few minutes, our delights were delivered and the feast began. All of the meats in the tacos and quesadilla were excellent. Great flavors and no skimping on the meats. Onions, cilantro and self squeezed lime punched up the flavors. The quesabirria come with an au jus style dipping sauce that was perfect. My shrimp soup was spectacular. Easily shareable, but I accepted the challenge to eat this myself. Served with numerous warm tortillas, chopped onions, cilantro and lime, I put it all in. A very light yet flavorful broth and as the pic shows, loaded with flavorful shrimp. I enjoyed every spoonful. A wonderful soup. As with most authentic Mexican restaurants, you are made to feel that \you are their guest. They will never make you feel that you've overstayed and if you want your check, you just go to the register at the counter. Looking forward to our next trip there.

It was nice to sit outside but I think our server forgot about us for a while... The quesabirria and fajitas were very good, but everything else was lowkey a skip. Skip the queso dip, there's not enough chips, skip the à la carte tacos, overpriced for how small they were. Just kind of a bust with a good view.

She was attentive and efficient. The food she suggested: elote, very good! We did get the guac and chips too to use the chips with the elote. That was the problem. The guac was somewhat tasteless, but the chips were very bad. They tasted like they were made in old rancid oil and they make them onsite. They even smelled like old oil. We let her know and she brought a new batch. Still tasted bad. We suggested her to try them and she did and agreed they were not up to par. I felt the grease even coated my tongue. The cornbread was excellent. Because the chips were so bad we got the guac and rest of the elote to go so we can eat at home with some good chips. We got the bill and even though they agreed they weren't as good as normal they still charged us for everything. That is a problem. She should have had them take them off the bill. We still tipped 18% but that isn't good when they don't make it right. We may give them another chance but still charging males that less likely for sure.
