The churrasco (medium rare) is absolutely some of the best I've had. The chicken enchiladas were so comforting and filling. I almost never order chicken at restaurants because I'm afraid it will be dry - this was anything but. They have daily specials but you can't beat half off tacos on Taco Tuesdays. The carne asada tacos are great and come 4 to an order. The birria tacos come 3 to an order with a small cup of consommé. The highlight of this place is their house-made hot sauce. You can purchase it separately as well to take home. One is a habanera sauce and the other is an avocado jalapeño. I'm obsessed and use it on everything: chips, fish, steak, eggs.

Service has been nothing but kind, helpful, and attentive every time we've gone. On our last visit, we were jonesing for happy hour and asked for the drink menu, only to discover they don't serve alcohol but they're BYOB. "And there's a wine and liquor store only two blocks away," our smiling server whispered conspiratorially. It was a genius idea. While we waited on our order, my husband jetted out for a 6-pack of Modelos and got back just as our chicken salad was being set down on the table. We asked for it to be timed as an appetizer, and I'd say the serving size might be closer to an appetizer than an entree. But the chicken pieces were well-marinated and delicious, making the salad a meaty entry point into our shared steak fajitas. These fajitas are a winner winner chicken - er, steak - dinner. Since we got it done medium well (my preferred doneness - feel free to judge me for it), I was worried about the steak being tough but these were tender enough for both my husband and I to emit a simultaneous "wow" at first bites. The sauce on them was also incredible, so much that we asked our server about it when he checked on us mid-meal. He crossed his heart and demurred, "It's a secret, so I can't really tell you," but when we pressed for more information, he admitted the main base was "lots of tomatoes". Well, whatever's in that magic sauce was good enough for us to drag our spoons against the near-empty fajita plate, trying to get every last drop of it. My husband and I have visited twice now, and our order has ranged from good to excellent (with those steak fajitas being the high winner thus far). There are a few parking spots in the front lot but being that this is in a quiet, residential area, there's plenty of parking to be found on the side streets if necessary.

Without us asking, the staff noticed and asked if it is ok to warm up the place. That really helped enhance the dining experience. Now the food, we shared the chicken fajita and the enchilada mi bandiera. The chicken fajita was so tasty, the chicken is made w chicken thigh. Some might not like that. We enjoyed it tremendously. The chicken and the veggies were very flavorful and grilled perfectly. They were a little stingy w only 3 tortillas but it's ok. The enchilada was also good. Good flavor but it was Luke warm. Would've been better if it was hotter. I very much enjoyed the home made hot sauce and their signature mole sauce. A good dining experience. Left satiated.

Consistent service throughout. Our appetizers and entrees came out back to back. Our waiter still checked on us throughout and allowed us to take our time, we did not feel rushed. The chicken flautas and empanadas were perfect to share for appetizers. I ordered the chicken bowl which came with a variety of sauces, rice, beans, guacamole. Basically all the fixings for inside a taco. I really enjoyed it! My friend spoke highly of her chicken tacos as well. We originally wanted to order tres leches for dessert. However, it was frozen according to our waiter. We tried the churros instead, but they didn't taste as fresh. We loved our spicy margaritas and espresso martinis. This is definitely a fun place to visit especially if you are going to see a show at the Bergen PAC! It's right next door. Parking at times can be limited especially on a weekend.

Based on past years and just general expectations for Cinco de Mayo, you'd expect at least some drink deals or themed offerings. The flyer is vague and ends up being misleading, it gets you in the door, but once you're seated, there's nothing different from a regular day. At minimum, there should have been some kind of special to match the holiday. This didn't live up to the expectations they set.

I also love that they served it on a soft corn tortilla instead of flour. I basically used the radish slices to dip in the guac haha. The service was kind and quick for dine in. It is a little self serve style, but they brought the food to me and I put the plate away. The restaurant itself is bright cute and playing some Latin pop music in the background. Enjoy.
