    Lemongrass chicken banh mi
    Abby L.

Came here for a casual dinner with a friend. We sat in the lovely enclosed patio at a community table. I got the lemongrass chicken banh mi - it was light and flavorful and the bread was fresh! It had a spicy logo next to it on the menu and I definitely could have done with a bit more spice! The mango croissant was delicious! I'd like to try all the croissants - strawberry, chocolate, almond, Nutella. Looked amazing.

I came here twice this week; once for breakfast and once for dinner. I really liked it both times and will be back for sure. This is a bakery/restaurant with an emphasis on banh mi and other entrees from Southeast Asia, most of which incorporate their fresh baked goods. You can order online or from tablets by the entrance & pick up from the counter when your order is ready (no waitstaff), and they have a separate counter for baked goods items from their display case. There is a lot of table and bar seating, but they are popular enough that it can get crowded anyway. The banh mi I ordered really was very good. Big and well-appointed. I requested my veggies on the side because I don't like very much cucumber & jalapeno, and that worked out fine. Sauces flavorful but not overpowering. I also ordered cream cheese wontons which were very good, although they didn't come with any dipping sauce despite the photo. For breakfast I got an egg/ham/cheese croissant and I absolutely loved it. It was a little small for the price, so I kind of feel like coming back hungry and splurging for two of those someday. Just so tasty and fresh. I recommend ordering online. I did that for breakfast on a Saturday, and even though it was very busy, my order was ready for pickup five minutes early. I want to try one of their bubble teas. They should maybe have more dessert things!

I asked Tony Cu where his fav banh mi was from and he said mi sant, I got the og and my husband got the special and we also ended up ordering their ube croissant. I loved my banh mi so much we ordered another to go, the ube croissant was delicious, texture was crispy on the outside almost like a delicate candied texture. I wasn't as big of a fan of the special but the original is definitely one to go back for.

What a fun little spot! Great for a quick lunch or for lingering over a pastry and coffee. We brought our baby and felt that it was baby- friendly - they have a sunroom style area that's a bit quieter, and we sat in the main dining room. We had two bahn mi and some pastries - the pastries were divine, super flaky with delicious fillings. We went around 3pm on a Monday and most pastries were already sold out, so that probably tells you how good they are! We got the last raspberry cream cheese cruffin and were delighted by it. The main bahn mi they sell with two types of pork was amazing, good smoky flavor. The lemongrass chicken bahn mi was good, but not quite as life changing. The one thing I would say is that it would be nice if some sort of hot sauce was offered, both my husband and I thought the sandwiches would be slightly improved with some sriracha, they were both a bit sweet. Overall, great spot! Come early for the full selection of pastries.

Great service, tasty food and just a clean relaxing place to enjoy your food. I brought my 2 year old and will definitely come back again.

Mi-Sant is located in a charmingly converted former chain restaurant building --probably from the 90s or early 2000s--into a cafe/bakery that serves Vietnamese food, baguettes, and pastries. You order at the counter and receive a buzzer; when your food is ready, it buzzes and you pick it up. Seating is first come, first serve. It was busy on the Saturday we went and unfortunately we did not see any staff come out to clean the tables, so they were a bit dirty. The interior is fresh and fun, with high ceilings, communal table, and tasteful holiday decorations. We really enjoyed sitting in the lovely glass sunroom. Their banh mi is truly excellent and the highlight of our meal. They also had great boba tea. The pastries and pasty sandwiches we had were just okay--the flavoring and filling within them was kind of uneven. It's worth checking out, if only for their banh mi! I recommend going earlier in the morning (before they run out of some of the pasties) and on a weekday when they might not be so busy. Alternatively, you can preorder items on their website.

This feels like a converted bakers square with the long "greenhouse" section of seating. When you first walk in you immediately see the pickup counter and a row of 3 iPads to order from. There's a second counter where you can also order from an employee. I was unfortunately fooled by the photo of bubble tea and didn't realize I needed to add that separate so I was disappointed with a $6 boba-less tea. Still tasted good. Went back for a classic Bhan-Mi. Bread was amazing (baked in house) and ingredients were fresh. It was pretty busy Halloween Friday at 11:30 AM. Many pastries were already sold out so I'd order ahead!

I came to Mi Sant with my partner for dinner as we were planning on shopping in the area later. It's a really interesting place -- the setup inside is more cafe than restaurant, and it feels like a real community gathering place judging by how busy it was (even late on a Monday night) with people just chatting. We each ordered a noodle bowl -- hers with tofu, mine with veggie egg rolls. We also split a Mango Passionfruit slushie. The bowls were good, but I think there were more noodles than veggies/proteins...I would have liked to see more of the pickled veggies and lettuce. The sauce they give you isn't nearly enough to flavor everything imo, and I also wish they had a hot sauce available. that said, the tofu and egg rolls themselves were delicious. I left wishing we had both instead gotten the Tofu banh mi as I imagined it would be more flavorful. The slushie was great. Not too sweet, which I appreciate, and plenty big to share. One negative -- they messed up a few things in our order. First, they gave my partner the wrong sauce with her bowl. Second, they put the wrong boba in our slushie. They fixed both issues so not catastrophic at all, but worth noting especially since they didn't seem very busy.

Everything I've had here is excellent! The croissants, the classic banh mi, and the bulgogi fries are flavorful and delicious. The classic banh mi here tastes most like the ones I grew up with in Chicago. You can really taste the freshness of the pate and the mayo, along with the meats and veggies. The bulgogi fries are battered and crispy, and the meat is flavorful. There's also just enough kimchi that brings all the ingredients together without overpowering the fries. I don't have pictures of the dessert croissants, but the mango, strawberry, berry croissants are all good. The tiramisu croissant wheel is my favorite though. The cappuccino mousse in the center is not too sweet and pairs so well with the croissant.

Super cute hidden gem in Roseville near the mall. It's not very hidden however because everyone was there and it was filled! We tried the spring rolls (delish unique peanut sauce) and the pork bahn mi (sandwich). So good!! Cute interior, order at counter and pick up your food, small focused menu. Will try again !!

Such a cute place! Great ambiance, plenty of seating options, clean space, well organized menus, friendly staff and delicious pastries. I stopped by around 10:30am on a Friday for a coffee and a chocolate almond croissant, both were great. The pastries were HUGE. I honestly wanted to try everything on the menu so I'll definitely be back to try the spring rolls and sandwiches. It wasn't too busy when I was there but as I was leaving around 11:30, it was packed so I do think lunch time gets busy.

The vibe of this place is super awesome. I really like the way the dining area is set up. It's spacious and comfortable at the same time. I can tell this used to be a Baker's Square, but when you go in, it feels like a really chill area. The kiosks and servers worked together well. I was able to order and get my food fairly quickly. We ordered the Thai Tea, Special Sandwich, Croissant, and Eggroll bowl. All of them were very delicious. Honestly, it was much more food than I could handle, so luckily I had a friend to help out.

Services was fast even during peak time! Lots of seatings in two sections (both indoors but one with open windows to the sunlight). Viet Coffee is very good. We wanted to experiment what Coffee Milktea would taste like but it just wasn't what we were expecting. It's not that it wasn't made well but rather that Milktea and coffee doesn't go well together imo. Shrimp bowl comes with a great portion and peanut sauce slaps!!!

I'm sorry Jason. You really had my hopes up when you were talking about Betty and Earl"s biscuits…read moreon your show but you've proven to me once again that unless you were raised in the South or by a Southern transplant you don't have a clue about baking soda biscuits. A good southern biscuit is hard to find in Minnesota. In my house they are served warm. and soft, usually fresh from the oven. A dab of butter melted inside sets them off perfectly. If a restaurant in Minnesota says it has Biscuits and Gravy I can't resist trying it only to be disappointed over and over again. That being said, KFC and Hardee's both have a good biscuits. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with frozen Pillsberry Grand Buttermilk Biscuits. Not the ones that come in a tube. So why would I go to a bakery in a mall that opens at 11 to get a biscuit? I trusted Jason. He sounded so sincere. Huh! Big mistake, I should have checked out his genealogy. The actual place is in the food court in the Rosedale Mall and the sign says, "Seeet and Savory by Diane" . The first warning was seeing the biscuits on a covered cake tray like you might stack doughnuts. These people are bakers after all not cooks. So, we wait for the lady at the counter to finish helping the person in front of us and then we asked for biscuits and gravy. The lady walks over to the sign and shows us the little sticker they added that says, "Weekend's Only". I was already wondering why anyone would start serving breakfast at 11. While we were trying to figure out if that applied to every item on the board or just the biscuits and gravy another customer got in front of us. We decided to ask for biscuit and egg sandwich's and a cup of coffee. Well, they only make one craft of coffee a day and when it's out it's out. If we wanted coffee we were told we need to go to the Brew and Waffle concession a few feet away. Alright no big deal, but over there no one's behind the counter and I am baffled as to what is going on. It doesn't seem to be self serve but there is a young lady sitting at the counter eating. Finally she gets up and acknowledges me by telling me she's on break but but since I'm there, she'll help me out anyway. She made it very clear that I was inconveniencing her. Well then, put up a closed sign or a "Back at 1pm" sign. Let's just skip on to describing the biscuit sandwich or more precisely the $10 (the sign said $8 I think) biscuit sandwich. The biscuits were big and thick and yellowish in color. I wondered if they added cornmeal to the flour. They had a gritty texture but not as gritty as cornbread. Ok, next time we'll try Betty and Earl's Minneapolis location. And Jason, spend a weekend south of the Mason-Dixon line and learn a little more about biscuits. Damn! I'm so sorry! I forgot to take pictures.

I've had two meals from Betty and Earl's and both are meals I would order again…read more While the plague perpetuates I am only getting curbside takeout, and their system for that works just fine. Ordering from the website is easy; you can opt for curbside delivery, and once your order goes through you get an email with instructions to call them when you arrive. There is a handy little parking circle by the main entrance to Potluck; that area gets plenty of traffic but your call with a friendly B&E's person will ensure that they find your car among the group. I got the biscuits with sausage gravy the first time and the pulled pork open-face biscuit thingie the second. Both were really good. The sausage gravy was a great, meaty brunch item, and the pulled pork was really delicious. Having piles of shredded BBQ pork on top of those thick, freshly-made biscuits was a unique experience. As long as you don't mind getting your fingers a little messy - and if you're eating pulled pork then honestly what do you expect - you just form a pile on one of the biscuits and hold it by the biscuit as you snack it down. There will be leftover meat that you can eat with a fork. I got yummy fresh cookies both times as well, and ended up full and satisfied. One issue I have with the website is that there isn't a description of the entrees, so you don't necessarily know what will come on them and there's no option to request, for instance, "hold the pickles". But that's about it; I really like the food I've gotten here and will keep it coming.
