Mi Sant is honestly one of my go-to spots that I visit pretty regularly, and it never disappoints. The service is relatively quick and ordering is super convenient since you can either order at the register or use one of the kiosks they have inside. My absolute favorite items on the menu are the shrimp bánh mì and the coffee frappe, hits my craving every single time! Their pastries are also SUPER good and definitely worth trying if you stop by. I would definitely recommend Mi Sant if you're looking for a solid Vietnamese bánh mì/pastry spot. They have two locations; one in Roseville and one in Brooklyn Park. The Brooklyn Park location is personally my favorite, but the Roseville location is much bigger and has more seating which is really nice. read more

There are some meals that are tied to moments in life for all kinds of reasons. This is one of those for me, tied to a time of hardships in life. I looked for positives wherever I could find them... even in a really really good sandwich. @misant_banhmi in Brooklyn Park is where I first had this awesome sandwich. Since those days, they've grown and added a second spot @misant_kitchen in Roseville which is my go to, though both have a special spot in my heart. Everything is made fresh and you can taste it they've got so many options in this Vietnamese French Fusion Bakery to try. So what was this wow sandwich? Beef Bulgogi Bahn Mi (The bread and everything inside is sooo good. I came here twice this week; once for breakfast and once for dinner. I really liked it both times and will be back for sure. This is a bakery/restaurant with an emphasis on banh mi and other entrees from Southeast Asia, most of which incorporate their fresh baked goods. You can order online or from tablets by the entrance & pick up from the counter when your order is ready (no waitstaff), and they have a separate counter for baked goods items from their display case. There is a lot of table and bar seating, but they are popular enough that it can get crowded anyway. The banh mi I ordered really was very good. Big and well-appointed. I requested my veggies on the side because I don't like very much cucumber & jalapeno, and that worked out fine. Sauces flavorful but not overpowering. I also ordered cream cheese wontons which were very good, although they didn't come with any dipping sauce despite the photo. For breakfast I got an egg/ham/cheese croissant and I absolutely loved it. It was a little small for the price, so I kind of feel like coming back hungry and splurging for two of those someday. Just so tasty and fresh. I recommend ordering online. I did that for breakfast on a Saturday, and even though it was very busy, my order was ready for pickup five minutes early. I asked Tony Cu where his fav banh mi was from and he said mi sant, I got the og and my husband got the special and we also ended up ordering their ube croissant. I loved my banh mi so much we ordered another to go, the ube croissant was delicious, texture was crispy on the outside almost like a delicate candied texture. What a fun little spot! Great for a quick lunch or for lingering over a pastry and coffee. We brought our baby and felt that it was baby- friendly - they have a sunroom style area that's a bit quieter, and we sat in the main dining room. We had two bahn mi and some pastries - the pastries were divine, super flaky with delicious fillings. We went around 3pm on a Monday and most pastries were already sold out, so that probably tells you how good they are! We got the last raspberry cream cheese cruffin and were delighted by it. The main bahn mi they sell with two types of pork was amazing, good smoky flavor. The lemongrass chicken bahn mi was good, but not quite as life changing. The one thing I would say is that it would be nice if some sort of hot sauce was offered, both my husband and I thought the sandwiches would be slightly improved with some sriracha, they were both a bit sweet. Mi-Sant is located in a charmingly converted former chain restaurant building --probably from the 90s or early 2000s--into a cafe/bakery that serves Vietnamese food, baguettes, and pastries. You order at the counter and receive a buzzer; when your food is ready, it buzzes and you pick it up. Seating is first come, first serve. It was busy on the Saturday we went and unfortunately we did not see any staff come out to clean the tables, so they were a bit dirty. The interior is fresh and fun, with high ceilings, communal table, and tasteful holiday decorations. We really enjoyed sitting in the lovely glass sunroom. Their banh mi is truly excellent and the highlight of our meal. They also had great boba tea. The pastries and pasty sandwiches we had were just okay--the flavoring and filling within them was kind of uneven. It's worth checking out, if only for their banh mi! I recommend going earlier in the morning (before they run out of some of the pasties) and on a weekday when they might not be so busy. This feels like a converted bakers square with the long "greenhouse" section of seating. When you first walk in you immediately see the pickup counter and a row of 3 iPads to order from. There's a second counter where you can also order from an employee. I was unfortunately fooled by the photo of bubble tea and didn't realize I needed to add that separate so I was disappointed with a $6 boba-less tea. Still tasted good. It's a really interesting place -- the setup inside is more cafe than restaurant, and it feels like a real community gathering place judging by how busy it was (even late on a Monday night) with people just chatting. We each ordered a noodle bowl -- hers with tofu, mine with veggie egg rolls. We also split a Mango Passionfruit slushie. The bowls were good, but I think there were more noodles than veggies/proteins...I would have liked to see more of the pickled veggies and lettuce. The sauce they give you isn't nearly enough to flavor everything imo, and I also wish they had a hot sauce available. that said, the tofu and egg rolls themselves were delicious. I left wishing we had both instead gotten the Tofu banh mi as I imagined it would be more flavorful. The slushie was great. Not too sweet, which I appreciate, and plenty big to share. One negative -- they messed up a few things in our order. First, they gave my partner the wrong sauce with her bowl. Second, they put the wrong boba in our slushie. Everything I've had here is excellent! The croissants, the classic banh mi, and the bulgogi fries are flavorful and delicious. The classic banh mi here tastes most like the ones I grew up with in Chicago. You can really taste the freshness of the pate and the mayo, along with the meats and veggies. The bulgogi fries are battered and crispy, and the meat is flavorful. There's also just enough kimchi that brings all the ingredients together without overpowering the fries. I don't have pictures of the dessert croissants, but the mango, strawberry, berry croissants are all good. The tiramisu croissant wheel is my favorite though. The vibe of this place is super awesome. I really like the way the dining area is set up. It's spacious and comfortable at the same time. I can tell this used to be a Baker's Square, but when you go in, it feels like a really chill area. The kiosks and servers worked together well. I was able to order and get my food fairly quickly. Whoa! I was super impressed by the banh mi here. The bread was incredibly fresh and crunchy, with fresh toppings and juicy grilled pork. The spring rolls were also well executed. I got a taro tea as well which hit the spot. I came here for lunch on a Friday and the place was popping!!! We ordered the Mi-Sant Special Bowl and the Bulgogi Beef Bowl. You do have the option to modify your bowl. You will order your food from the front counter and then they will call your name when your order is ready. With as busy as it was, we were pleasantly surprised on how quick the food was ready. All of the food tasted fresh and similar to your standard Vietnamese noodle salads. We did enjoy the flavors, but thought our food could've used a little something more to make it really pop. Visited Mi Sant for the first time - the inside is nice and modern and the staff were all helpful and friendly. I had the egg rolls, special spring rolls, and classic banh mi. The spring rolls were the shining star and may be my favorite in the twin cities - they were large, had a great texture, and came with a delicious peanut sauce . The banh mi bread was good but the filling was on the blander side and was disappointing. I think adding more pate would be helpful. If you prefer talking to a person, you can do that at a counter further in the restaurant as well. Food came out incredibly fast, 5 minutes after I placed my order. You'll get a text when your order is ready. -- The egg rolls were fantastic. The wrapper was thin and so crispy, and the pork filling was juicy and flavorful. It was served with a sweet and sour sauce, but ask for their vietnamese vinaigrette fish sauce instead. The vietnamese vinaigrette was balanced and complemented the egg rolls well. -- The banh mi was a little bland and disappointing. I ordered the Classic Vietnamese Hams and there was barely any pate or mayo. The bread was definitely the best part and had a nice chew to it. I think toasting the bread would've made it better. -- The spring rolls were awesome and possibly the best I've had in the cities. I ordered the Mi-Sant Special and loved the crunch from the egg roll wrapper inside. The fillings were fresh. The peanut sauce was on the runnier side and I wish it had more hoisin flavor, but you get a bunch of the sauce so it's enough for the 3 rolls. -- The coconut raisin croissant is the perfect pastry if you like desserts that aren't sweet. Perfect! So glad I finally decided to stop here as I was in the area. There is a private parking lot which aids to any extra time you may be factoring in - not needed. I adore the concept as you can either order with a cashier or on a tablet. Offering dine in or takeout, the options are endless. I worked with a cashier who helped me learn the menu as a newbie. I tried the egg roll bowl with recommended peanut sauce and pork, 1 coffee frappe and 1 butter croissant. I adored the egg roll bowl as it was super filling and savory. I treated my drink and croissant like dessert - yum! The interior is bright with tons of windows and natural lights. There are varying plants, giant white menu hanging boards from the ceilings and tangible bakery items on display that you can see (and touch once you buy of course). The back part of the building has the classic Baker's Square room with a domed ceiling and lots of tables and sunlight. It almost resembles a greenhouse which we certainly appreciate in MN. The main space has a bar, 2 farm style tables that can fit 20 people easily and then about 6 cafe small tables. The menu is pretty large from coffee to tea to spring rolls to noodle bowls to bahn mi and breakfast sandwiches. No matter how your order is placed, you will get a buzzer upon completion. My family and I have been a few times. The food is fantastic and I love the open concept, fast casual atmosphere. Sometimes I just want to eat good food in a nice place without a lot of fanfare. The Bahn-mi sandwich was huge and really good. The spice of the hot peppers and the house made baguette set this sandwich apart. The bowls were amazing too. We shared some egg rolls which were hot, nicely crispy and not too greasy. Portions are good sized. You won't go hungry at this family run restaurant. On the way out I grabbed a chocolate croissant to share with my daughter at home. The pastries looked as beautiful as any I've ever seen in Paris. The croissant did not disappoint. Terrible service. They do not care about their customers at all. They also want a tip when you order at a counter and clean up after yourself. Dirty tables everywhere, dirty bathroom. No one in the place cleaning. They put mayo on the "vegan" option, and were unwilling to remake or offer a refund. Apparently "vegan" meant the meat choice only. They gave us the wrong sauce and were unwilling to change it without us paying $1 since we "walked away with it". Just ridiculous. I will say the food is good (somewhat overpriced). The service is absolute trash, but don't worry, the manager "wishes there was something he could do" while doing nothing. read more

This is such an adorable place to dine in! It's got a beautiful full sunshine windowed-in seating area that is decorated with real plants. I don't really get Vietnamese vibes, I get a really modern simple vibe. You order at the counter and they text you when the order is ready to pick up at the counter. Food was ready really fast. I got it with the vinaigrette and the peanut sauce and the combo was not spicy in my opinion, but so many good flavors and textures, I dream about it. I took two croissants home, apple and blueberry cream cheese and they didn't have very much filling in them, but they sure were buttery soft. Didn't expect to find decent Vietnamese food for a decent price in Minnesota. The bowls were a change of paced from all the fried food I ate during the state fair. It felt amazing to eat fresh greens and protein with the fish sauce vinaigrette. I wish they made the fish sauce with more fish sauce, cuz I personally like mine on the stronger side. They close the outside patio after little before closing so it was difficult to find a table suitable for 7 people. So I would recommend going early so there are more seating area.
