We were asked to return in 20 minutes to be seated when checking in. Then after that it took about 10 minutes for someone to take our order, 30 minutes to finally get high chairs for our kids and 45 minutes for the food to come out. Not only that, the food was definitely subpar. I had a major issue with the kids chicken katsu dish because it was served with a mildly spicy curry sauce doused with the chicken and rice rendering it inedible for kids because it was spicy. Each variety of sushi roll only comes in 4 pieces and I dont know why every one we tried tasted like cream cheese. It was so disappointing we left without finishing our meal.

While the Teppanyaki show was fun to watch - they really all are so this teppanyaki isn't any more special than any other. My big negatives and hence the low rating are: *Took us over an hour to get seated and have our first food course (miso soup and drinks) brought to us and this was despite having a reservation which we were on time for! *The quality of the steak was awful. It was like eating shoe leather! The quality of the steak was so bad it literally cracked my daughter's permanent bottom retainer. It didn't only crack the wire it cracked in half the back metal part where it attaches to her molar! I had to make an appointment to take her to the orthodontist when we got home and they were amazed that the meat was so chewy and tough that it could literally crack the metal by her having to put so much pressure to bite down to chew the steak! *We never got refills on our drinks despite being at the restaurant for 2.5 hours (1 hour to wait and 1.5 hours for the food) *There was no sauce with the Teppanyaki Overall, if you must eat here then I'd suggest getting the shrimp as your protein because they grill the life out of the chicken and beef which isn't a high quality cut of meat to begin with. Honestly I wish we'd never eaten here since it wasn't a good experience and the steak was inedible and the other food wasn't good tasting either. Now I have to pay more money to get my daughter a new permanent bottom retainer. So not worth it!

It was empty during peak dinner hours, which in hindsight should have been a telltale sign but, we didn't think anything of it as Asian food was hard to come by in that area. Our party of six decided to sit in the outdoor patio overlooking the Harbor. The menu, while limited looked promising. For starters we opted for the Gyozas and Chicken Satay. Both were decent but, nothing to write home about. Following our appz, we had their Malaya Coconut, Tuna Rolls, Caramelized Salmon, Caramelized Pork Ribs and Chicken Pad Thai. Each dish that came out was worse than the last. They lacked the proper Asian flavorings with some dishes being devoid of flavors altogether. For instance, the Chicken Pad Thai had an overwhelming flavor of ketchup while the Malaya Coconut was bland and watery and the Caramelized Ribs were tangy and one noted. This was the trend with all of the other entrees. Service was just about the only pleasant thing during our dining experience. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The price is moderate considering the location however, I feel that it's overpriced for mediocre food and I would not recommend this place.

For the entirety of our meal, we were the only diners in the restaurant. ORDERED: Tibet roll, oyster roll, salmon temaki, salmon sashimi, mixed sashimi, salmon salad, New York cheesecake, margaritas, coronas, and waters. PROS: Our server, Cristopher, was pretty good. He was attentive, made good suggestions, and checked in on us often. CONS: The food. The food was only meh. It tasted like something you buy from the supermarket in the refrigerated aisle, except this sushi was room temperature instead of being cold. The fish was mushy, soaked in the sauces, and not at all fresh. Also, the fish was room temperature/borderline warm. Bleh. Every roll had a Philadelphia roll base/filling and there was tons of cream cheese in them. The rice was also very mushy and overbearing. There was way more rice then there needed to be. We had the margaritas both on the rocks and blended. Each order of margarita was made completely different. In the blended order, the margarita was so salty. The salt wasn't because of the rim, the drink itself tasted like someone poured a handful of salt into it. For the second round of drinks, we ordered margaritas on the rocks. One of the cups was really sweet, and the other one tasted like there was only tequila in there (not necessarily complaining ). Ultimately, we ended up ordering coronas - because you can't screw that up... For dessert, we ordered tempura ice cream. Unfortunately, our server informed us that they had run out of this. So instead, we ordered a NY cheesecake. It was just okay. Nothing special or fancy. We were seated in the outdoor seating area. While we were eating, there were three recently flies who would not leave us alone! It was quite bothersome. Towards the end of the meal, there was a bee who joined in with the flies. This bee, though, was even more relentless than the flies and would not leave even after being swatted (making contact!) a few times. It flew on our cheesecake, into our margaritas, and everywhere in between. All while this was happening, our server and 5 other employees stood by idly watching us, talking about us, and laughing amongst one another! It was kind of annoying. Ultimately, we knew going into this place that this wasn't going to be the best sushi we've ever had or even anywhere near it. What we did hope for, though, was for the seafood to be much fresher and better prepared. BOTTOM LINE: Don't go. I would not recommend this place - not even if you are craving for Asian food.

It's right outside by the main pool, built like a "nest," which gives it such a unique and memorable vibe, especially at night. Definitely one of the coolest dining setups I've experienced. Service was great the entire time. Attentive, friendly, and made the experience feel smooth and relaxed. As for the food, everything we ordered was amazing. We went with the gyoza, oysters, jumbo shrimp, prime NY, jumbo blue shrimp, toro and salmon nigiri, and a maguro roll. Honestly, not a single miss. Fresh, flavorful, and really well executed across the board. If you're staying at Viceroy, this is a must. Even if you're not, it's worth making the trip over just for dinner here.

The beef skewers would have been good if not slathered in a sickly sweet sauce. Now the part that pissed me off: we had the all inclusive meal plan. The meal plan is not cheap and is like 1k more for a family of four than paying à la carte and yet they treat you like a leper if you have the meal plan!?! Make that make sense. Over all this resort was mid let alone the mediocre restaurants. Will never be back. For an elevated luxury experience I much rather Garza Blanca resort and any of their restaurants.
