Nicksan is a great choice when down in Cabo. Upon arriving they had a lot of open tables. The server was really helpful and even, they were able to make up some rolls. The fish quality was good. The appetizers were all good too.
Elegant Japanese restaurant with the ultimate fresh fish, sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Unagi roll was fresh eel delicious savory sauce in a roll, also had the two roll, which was fresh and delicious, and a crab hand roll, which was delicious as well. Service was very attentive and friendly, ambience, although casual yet elegant.
Best sushi in Cabo! Been coming here for 20+ years. The service is absolutely incredible. Christmas Day was busy and the staff was hustling. Never had to wait any longer than normal for the food. Great ambience and fun time sitting at the sushi bar.
Service was not great. We were just seated and no one came over to talk about the menu or give us water for a while. It was kind of rude. We sat by the sushi bar next to the window. Our food was ok. The rolls were good but the scallop I ordered turned out to be spicy. It was much larger than I expected for one person to eat. Overall it was pricier and service did not meet expectstions. One visit was enough for us.
The sushi here is top notch highly recommend this place if you want fresh sushi service is great ambiance is nice and clean love this place.
Our 4th visit in 4 years, and honestly, it wasn't as good as prior visits. The first roll they brought us off the menu (Don something) was excellent, but other roll and 2 orders of sashimi weren't as good as usual. Service also wasn't amazing as it was the first 2 years. And prices were at least 50% higher than before, and higher than the prices listed online (there were no paper menus, just QR code). It was $300 US before tip for 2 rolls, 2 sashimi orders, 4 miso soups (really good), and tempura shrimp and veggie (always thin, crispy batter - great), one large beer and 2 hot sakes. Enjoyed it, but not as much as in prior years. Might look for a new sushi spot downtown next year.
Best sushi I have ever had in my life. Amazing service, very nice restaurant, and the most delicious food. I went here twice while in Cabo because it was that good. I will definitely visit everytime I'm in Cabo.

We have found that consistency is everything in the industry, not only in the food but service as well, both so important. We love the gyoza, sushi rolls and entrees. The food impeccable, the service will always 'swarm' around your table and make you feel like a VIP. Go and enjoy Nicksan Cabo, the Pamilla location not so much, it was cold and overpriced compared to the Cabo local. Hopefully, they can open a location in SJD north being that we live in the East Cape area.
TLDR: Only come if you're desperate for sushi. I don't recommend. Only get ahi tacos as snacks. Not really worth it tbh. Environment: Fancy looking, mostly Japanese style. There are a lot of seats. Dimly lit and intimate. Good date environment ig. It was quiet when we came. Service: the service was 4.5/5. They were so attentive and friendly! Though despite the many servers and few filled tables, it took a little longer than it should have to flag someone down. Food: it was meh. Honestly only the ahi tacos are worth mentioning. They were pretty good. I normally get chirashi bowls since I like to have an array of fish. Some reviews were racing about freshness of fish in cabo, but the fish literally all tasted like nothing. And they should Not have all tasted like nothing. I was very disappointed. It was the worst 30 something dollar chirashi bowl I had yet but the presentation was fantastic. Never had a chirashi not in a bowl. Oh and the imitation crab made me chuckle, ngl.

Nik San is always consistent. When you come to Cabo, you can choose from several different options for sushi but this place will always be at the top of the list because they have a smooth operation and a steady menu. They don't go over the top with a ton of daily rotating fish options though. If you're the type who wants their Kinmedai or 5 kinds of Snapper, you will need to check down from that level. I compare it to a Nobu in that they keep it simple but with no bad surprises. Expect a higher tier level pricing as well. We sat at the sushi bar which was the call because you get the best conversations with the chefs and they can recommend what's looking good. We started with the Sashimi Serranito which was on point. Not too spicy and the sauce had a nice tang to it. We also had the Gyoza app which was done very well. Just the right amount of crisp to it without being a dumpster of oil which happens a lot of times at some places. I went with the Tuna Tostada which is never bad. This is a "Go To," menu item for Nik San. My husband always moves towards sashimi so we got the Yellowtail, Sea Bass(Was on special), Toro and Blue Fin. All were top notch. For drinks, I got the Copa Rose and my husband got the Copa Pinot Grigio. Both were good. Nothing extraordinary but they have limited by the glass options. I always wish that they opened up the drink menu a bit more and added some creativity but it's not a big deal. As always, a nice experience and Nik San will get you in and out in under an hour if you have places to be. They are tight in that part of their points of service.
Wow, what an experience for dinner!! we had been searching all week for some fresh sushi and found this place on Yelp. Service was impeccable and the food was everything we wanted and then some. A couple people in our group were very experienced with sushi and sashimi while others like simple things like California rolls. Everybody left happy and we finished our sushi with some green tea ice cream and we were very satisfied. It was a bit pricier than we expected. Four people in our bill was almost $300 but we definitely did order everything. My family and I come to Cabo every year and this will definitely be a stop every time we're in town. The bathrooms were very clean probably some of the nicest bathrooms in Cabo and it definitely had an authentic sushi Japanese vibe . Its location is right behind the Cabo sign on the marina right next to the casino. Enjoy! read more
As with all restaurants Cabo, it's pricey. However, it was great quality and great service. Clean and nicely air conditioned without people standing outside harassing you to go in. That is 2 pluses in my book. The chirashi bowl was a nice mix of fish and the rice was done well we got a special roll that sounded good and it was also excellent. read more

This is some of the best sushi I have EVER had, they serve Michelin quality food. We basically had omakase because we told them to bring their best dishes and the chef prepared rolls, sashimi. The food presentation was beautiful I didn't even want to eat it and it tasted just as good if not better. Service was incredible, staff super friendly. 1000/10 recommend. read more

You know that feeling when you've been covered in saltwater mist from whale watching and dust from atv riding and sunscreen and sand, and then you get all cleaned up and put a nice fragrance on and get the outfit thats been hanging in the closet since you landed, and you just feel exfoliated from head to toe and like all of that sunshine that you've been bathing in is now just pure happiness coursing through your veins, and you need a place to eat that's exquisite as you are in that moment? You know? Yep, Nick San is where you go. We've been coming here for years and it's always excellent. To start with, the service is amazing and stands in stark contrast to the unhurried vibe you'll get when you order food on the beach or at many places in town. At Nick San, they are jammin. I mean these folks are a well-oiled machine. Vibes are great - you didn't get all dressed up for nothing! Be prepared to pay for it, too - it can easily get close to $100 USD pp. As for the food, it's hard to go wrong. STRONG recommendation for the Noki roll - not sure that it's on the menu, but we had to order another after we thought we were done with the meal. Yellowfin app is a non-negotiable. We've been with people who don't usually like sushi, but they like what they get here. One of our favorite sushi spots anywhere. read more

After our water activity at the Marina, our group was famished and decided to take a break from tacos. As Japanese food lovers, Nicksan offered our cravings. The food was delicious most especially the sodt shell crab. The fish were so fresh, I didn't have enough time to take a picture. Our waiters were very attentive and service was outstanding. The price point if this restaurant caters to tourist as the price point is a little higher. Our party of 8 paid $440 for lunch with no alcoholic drinks. I thought it was worth it! Try this place when in Cabo. read more

First time visiting Cabo and saw this place. Clean inside with nice view of downtown. I ordered the lobster roll which was delicious. I ordered a couple of nigiri that was good too. Service was awesome. I recommend if you want to try something different. read more

It has been ten years since the last time I dined here, and last night did not disappoint. The wait staff is incredibly helpful and attentive, with a number of people working on a single table. The restaurant has recently received a decor facelift with more Asian inspired look and feel. The food was absolutely fantastic, and you can see it being freshly made in front of you. The tuna tostada had a ton of melt in your mouth tuna. The gyozas were the unsung hero of the night. They were massive and absolutely delicious. While the lobster roll wasn't on the menu, many folks still enjoyed it with a little different take on the dish but just as good. The sea bass teriyaki was flakey and fantastic - highly recommend. The special roll of the night was a tuna topped with yellowtail, avocado, Serrano chile, and fried garlic with oil and ponzu sauce and that was to die for. Pleasantly refreshing evening and cannot wait to come back. read more

We had 12:30 PM reservations on a Sunday. It was kind of quiet, but we had special attention to our requests. Very nice & relaxing ambiance. We loved the dynamite scallops: 6 ounce baked sea of Cortez scallops and 1.5 ounce of stone crab meat, mixed with white mushrooms, Masago and spicy mayonnaise. Eddie C was an awesome sushi chef! Fantastic sushi place with phenomenal fusion flavors. It is on the more expensive side, but they have great service and flavors to match. -sake lemon roll: highly recommend this! Light and refreshing flavors from the sauce and lemon balanced by the salmon and tempura shrimp -clear lobster roll: the best creamy-type roll I've had! Was surprised by how good this was -tuna black and white sashimi: really enjoyed this dish as well, good mix of many flavors -tuna tostada: tasty but nothing to write home about read more

I've been coming to Cabo for almost 10 years and even though this restaurant is almost next door to the resort I stay at, somehow this was the first time I've been. Their food is incredible. I came for lunch and my favorite was the black and white tuna sashimi with garlic. They also have a really excellent selection of Japanese whiskies so my Suntory Toki Manhattan was perfect. read more

Sushi was hit and miss. The lobster roll I had was good, the hand roll I got was good. The spicy tuna tostada what's good. The octopus to see me was OK. prices are reasonable. It was easy to walk to but kind of hidden behind the marina. Service was great read more

Nicksan is a solid sushi spot in downtown Cabo. It gets pretty full during peak dinner time even during off season, so try to snag a reservation if you can! The service was friendly and helpful, and the fish was fresh. A good find in Los Cabos! read more
