3rd visit and my last! This is the worst service I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Each time I've gone for lunch, each time a different server, yet disappointing each time. They forget to check back, their lunch specials are subpar in price, they messed up my orders. This last time they brought me a Diet Coke when I asked for water. I added too much spice to my meal and did take a sip- but only because they never came back to check on me! Not once after they brought my food and I hadn't noticed until then about my drink. There was a full glass when I asked them to remove it from my bill, and they said but you took a drink. I explained and noted I don't drink soda, they just stood there staring at me. So my chicken lunch (shredded chicken with cheese and lettuce) and unwanted soda cost me $12...what! Will NEVER return, as the food is so average it's not worth the hassle. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE . I had a to go order with a small cheese dip and a medium salsa. When I got in my vehicle I realized the sizes were incorrect. The salsa was in a small condiment container (like pickles would come in), much smaller than the small cheese dip. I went back in and politely informed the manager that the salsa was the wrong size. He looked at me and said "that's our sizes". Confused, I asked how a medium salsa comes in such a small container that is smaller than the small cheese dip. The MANAGER proceeded to say "I'm not dealing with this" , goes to the register and hands me my cash back. At this point, I walk out of the restaurant and get back in my car. He comes running out of the store and demands that I give him the food back. I comment that I'm pretty sure this violates Covid restrictions but hand him the bag of food. He then proceeds to become very hostile and THREW the food at me/back into my vehicle. This was the most disgusting conduct I have ever experienced in the food industry . I would recommend to avoid this place as it's shady the way they run their business. Upon checking out we had a $6 off coupon and they would not accept it, they said it was because we ordered a margarita and the coupon said cannot be used on alcohol. Understood, but the check was not for alcohol, the check was $60, $53 was for food and $7 was for the margarita. So we asked nicely to have the check split, the margarita would be on it's on check. Had heard good things via word of mouth so wife and I decided to try it. Was very disappointed. Portion size was decent but food was generally very bland. The salsa had very little flavor, the cheese dip was good. Within minutes of leaving both wife and I had upset stomachs and I felt bad the rest of the day. read more

This place is just a gem. Very clean, great service and great food. The food was traditional style American-Mexican. I just loved the Chicken Chimichanga. My husband got the burrito and he loved it. We will definitely go here once a month. Also, chips and salsa were awesome. They placed a carafe of fresh salsa on our table, it was delicious. Mi Tierra has a wonderful variety of food. The salsa was amazing and you can tell it was made there as well as the tortilla chips. The service is outstanding and we received our food within 10 minutes. I have to say this is one of the best Mexican Restaurants I have been to in this area and will be visiting again. read more

Live up the hill in Fort Wright, so this place is our go to place for a quick dinner. Wide variety of menu options (although I swear there are a few dishes that are exactly the same, just with different names and in different places on the menu). The salsa is great, I think it tastes fairly fresh compared to other restaurants in the area. My go to is the beef chimichanga or the fajita nachos (which can very easily be split between two people). Guacamole is pretty good. Rice is usually pretty bland and the veggies in it are dry, but that's not what you come here for. Service can be pretty slow, but we see the same crew each time we are there and they treat us well. read more

Mi Tierra has great food, but it is not the best I have ever had. Their salsa is great and they have a ton of vegetarian options. Large portions so I always seem to eat too much. Service is normally very quick. Mi Tierra is my choice for Mexican food in the area. read more

When this restaurant first opened we enjoyed the food. We enjoyed the food several times. So Nov 17,2017 we decided to call in an order to go. We got the bad uncaring person, Server 1. When we took the food home, the plate was thrown together and the tamales was like chewing gum no corn meal at all. The enchilada's were wet , the rice barely pike, no taste. My first thought is that they must have changed managers or cooks. Really we did even dare to eat it. I call was told in an irate voice, "you got what you ordered!" and "there is no new manager. No apologies and no explanations. Just red hot anger. The next day I took the food to No,Kentucky health dept, it was that bad and will follow up. Good that you are busy however there is no cause to relate angrily . I will not return and I will pass it on. read more

Horrible. I've dined at this restaurant two times and ordered carry out on one additional occasion. The food is nothing compared to El Rio Grande in Newport or the Cancun establishments in Cincy. And the carry out prices??? Extremely unreasonable. I paid approximately $12 for three ounces of cheese, three ounces of bad salsa and a bag of chips. I tried to support a restaurant and small business owner but it's just not worth it when the nearby Mexican food is so much better. Sorry. Won't ever be back. read more

My parents and I went here before a Reds game and really enjoyed the place. It is very close to the Fort Wright Walmart. The decor is bright and fresh. The salsa was just ok. It could have used more flavor and maybe a spicy option. Since we were eating an early dinner we decided to split two meals and a tamale. I am glad we only had two full meals because the portions were huge! The beef Chimichanga Monterrey was very good and came with beans and rice. My father had the Quesadilla Hawaiana which was good but a little two sweet for a dinner option. I would recommend getting something else - but I don't blame this on the place it was just a weird combo with chicken, onions and pineapple with cheese on top. The tamale was amazing! My father loved it and said it was the best he had ever had. I thought it was super tasty and would totally order more next time! At the end of dinner we had eaten everything on our plates. Absolutely horrible customer service! My husband and his coworkers have eaten at this restaurant several times. They definitely knew him when he walked through the door. Last night, we decided to grab a late night dinner at Mi Tierra and watch the NCAA basketball game. As we were finishing up our beers, the waiter came over and pointed to his watch and said, "You have to go." There were two minutes left in the basketball game. We looked at each other and chuckled, because we couldn't believe that we were being asked to leave when we hadn't finished our drinks. The waiter walked over and turned the game off. Needless to say, my husband wasn't happy and responded in disbelief. Can't say I've ever had a dining experience as horrible as this, especially when you're a regular customer. Absolutely unbelievable! Not the first time that they shoved us out the door when we've been in there for dinner. Don't bother going, unless you're looking for a miserable dining experience. The only reason I am giving this place 1 star is because I have to make a selection to leave a review. I would recommend White Castle before this restaurant. The service is absolutely horrible!!!! I came in with a group of 15. The wait staff was rude as soon as we walked in and acted as if they didn't want us to be there. It was about 7:00pm and the restaurant wasn't crowded at all. We had to ask for menus about 15 minutes after we sat ourselves. One of the kids in our party walked up to our waiter and asked for a refill of water. He grabbed it out of his hand, rolled his eyes and acted as if it was a hassle. I asked, " is everything alright because it seems as if we are a bother." He didn't get to say a word because the man behind the bar said, "we are talking! Go back and enjoy your food!" After this, the waiter only came to our table to give us our check, in which he added an extra entree. The staff laughed, talked and watched us finish our meal. It was the worst dining experience I've ever had and I will never step foot in this place again. read more

We have been going to this little restaurant shortly after they opened. We were considered regulars, and ate there 2-3 times a month, and often took our friends there. We consider ourselves good customers, and always tip at least 30%. Everything was good...until tonight. Our waiter was fair at best, and apparently did not understand my English. I ordered the 3 item with beans and rice, which was a $10 meal. I also ordered a soft chicken taco to go, requesting that they leave the lettuce off, as this was literally for our pup at home. I even told him that this was for our dog, and that she did not eat lettuce. Our order came, and I only received the 2 item meal,with beans and rice, which would have cost $9. I assumed he misunderstood me, and was going to make the third item(the other taco I had initially ordered) as part of the 3 item meal. My chili relleno was crunchy, and my taco was soggy, as it was put on the plate next to the other food. I accepted this, and said nothing. A few moments later, he returned with a small white bag with my "to go " taco in it. I inspected the taco to ensure it did not have any lettuce on it. It did not, just chicken and cheese. We ate our meal, and received our bill. We were charged for the 3 item meal ($10), and an additional $1.99. We took the bill to the manager who literally argued with me about this, and said that the "to go" taco I was given was the chunks of chicken, and was a $3 taco. I attempted to explain to him that I did not order this type of taco, as it was for a dog. I attempted to explain to him that my order was incorrect, and the second taco should have been the taco that I had ordered to go. He re-rang the bill, and charged us the $9 for the meal, and then an additional $3 for the taco to go. He stated that the taco in the 3 item deal had lettuce,cheese and peppers on it?? It came with chunks of chicken,lettuce and cheese, as it always has. They took it upon themselves to give me the more expensive taco, and in the process lost 2 long time customers. Great place as long as you do not try to dispute an over charge on your bill. I hope this was worth those $2 to you. Fortunately Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen around here, so we will be in search of a place that treats their customers a little more respectful, and does not try to rip them off. read more
