About a year ago, we contacted Miami Appliance Repair, because I was having a problem with my very nice front loading washing machine. Apparently there was a part that goes in the front of the machine that had come loose, even though it was a fairly new machine that I had only had for about a year so I don't know how this even happened. Maybe I had it for two years so it had just Had the warranty expire. It was an expensive fairly new front loading washer that cost me about 800 or $900. I had spoken to the owner of this company once before and he sounded very nice. So I decided to call him to come and look at the machine and do the repair. I let my roommate/companion speak to him since Spanish is my second language, even though I speak it fluently, I figured that my companion would be able to communicate better with him in Spanish, so even though I'm the owner of the machine, I let my companion speak to him to explain what was going on with the machine and set the appointment. Well, this began the nightmare of us getting such a runaround from the owner of Miami Appliance Repair,. First, he told my companion to order the part from Amazon and fix it himself. That's not why we were calling him. I have the money to pay him and I wanted him to fix it. When of course my companion who's not an appliance mechanic could not fix it and we had to call him back again we made an appointment for him to send one of his repair people to come and fix it. We are retired senior citizens. The owner of Miami Appliance Repair, gave us a runaround all day long With multiple excuses just because we are older and retired and stay at home most of the time and he kept us waiting all day long with lies and excuses, and his repair person finally showed up at 6 o'clock in the evening when he did actually repair the problem which took five minutes and of course I paid for it, but we waited around because he was supposed to be here at about 11:30 in the morning and he kept us waiting all day and we kept calling him and he kept lying and giving us excuses about when the man would get here. I will never ever do business with him again just because of the lies and the runaround and the excuses.How dare he disrespect us because we are older retired people. I am landlord with terrible appliance mojo. I always purchase new appliances for my tenants when needed and they always fail! It's very true that "they don't make 'em like they used to". Good thing that people like Matt exist! My tenant's less than 3 year old side-by-side fridge wasn't cooling and the electronic display was on the fritz. I found Miami Appliance Repair on Yelp and texted Matt per his voice mail message. He responded to me within an hour and we set up an appointment for the following day. He showed up on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He gave me several options and since my appliance was still covered under the extended warranty, I went for all of them! He returned twice to complete the repair (a second, non-obvious problem popped up during the first visit). The repair was expensive, but the bulk of the cost was parts. Everything is computerized now and the parts are not cheap! In the end, he got the fridge cooling again but couldn't resolve the issue with the display, so (and yes, you are reading this correctly) HE REFUNDED ME SOME MONEY! Where does that happen in Miami anymore?! I was impressed with Matt's knowledge, professionalism and integrity. I found Matt through Yelp, I've never worked with an appliance repair service prior to this. I had a dryer that was spinning and heating, but not drying the clothes. I called Matt and he was polite and honest. I explained the symptoms and he was able to tell me the problem over the phone. I appreciate his honesty, he could've easily listened to my problem and still proceeded to schedule an appointment and charge me for a service call. But HE DID NOT. My oven stopped working mysteriously, just as I was beginning my career as the resident baker on the job. This essentially ended my lengthy career of two baked loafs. Not so soon, Matt to the rescue! I called Matt the Friday before the Labor Day weekend. He came out the following morning. (This is significant because I called at least two other companies that couldn't come out until the Tuesday after Labor Day). After checking my stove, he determined in a matter of minutes what the problem was and ordered the parts that day. He returned, a few days later with the part. I reached out to Matt regarding a clothes dryer that was not working. I suspected the timer was the problem. I was wrong! Great service with this company! As per his voicemail, I texted Matt and he promptly replied to set-up a date/time to inspect my dishwasher that was not draining. As per my condo property management rules, Matt promptly provided a copy of his business license and liability insurance. After inspecting my dishwasher, Matt offered me a couple of different options for the repair. He had to order the part needed but subtracted the initial service call from the price of the part and did not charge me for an additional Service call. I should have read the reviews before I called. I called for a repair to my washer, of course he answered the phone right away and sent someone out. They replaced a part that cost $150 of course it did not work when they left. I called again and again someone came out and said it was working. When I got home it was in fact not working. When I called to let them know at this point I was just going to buy a new washer I asked for some type of reimbursement. I also said they could come and pick up the part as I purchased a new washer. This is the second time I have had Matthew come out for a repair. About 2 years ago he fixed my refrigerator's defroster. Today I had him come because both my refrigerator's ice maker and my garbage disposal were broken. I was going to just buy new ones but figured I'd see if he could fix them. I texted him yesterday to schedule an appointment, today he showed up with his Grateful Dead mask on (major style points) and sanitized his hands upon entering my condo, and within 30 minutes he had fixed both appliances and was on his way. Extremely professional and knowledgeable guy. Alleviated any concerns of having someone in my home during the pandemic. In addition to fixing the appliances, he was also very willing to walk me through each repair as I have a construction background and was interested to learn. Horrible. Rescheduled twice. He has a communication issue. When a tech says they will be there between 8-10, and you have to call them at 9:50 to ask if they're gonna show up, its probably not a good sign. I guess one has to have very low expectations and take the day off work for nothing to get resolved. 1 star because he eventually showed up and because zero stars was not an option. It cost me $50 for him to come out, but it saved me $100's in not using his services after the quote for "What may be the problem." - No thank you! We were definitely not on the same page. I was having problems with my Whirlpool refrigerator and and I was looking for a service repair person. I saw the good reviews about Matt on Yelp, and I called him. He returned my call promptly; gave me some tips to try to fix it myself. Then he actually called me back to see if it worked or if I needed any additional help!! The door did need a part, and he was able to schedule time to see me on the one day that I happened to be at home. He found the problem and identified the part that needed to be replaced. I wrote him a check, and he came back a few days later and replaced the part. I felt so confident in him that I instructed the security people to let him into the apartment when I was still at work. Honest guy! Highly recommend! While visiting my son I noticed standing water in the bottom of his dishwasher, not enough that I was concerned it wasn't actually draining, but more than I thought should be there at the end of the cycle. (There's always a little water remaining-by design.) I texted Matt and while there were a few hiccups reaching him initially he did eventually text me back. (In fairness, it was 4th of July week and I mention this not as a complaint but more of a recommendation that if he doesn't immediately get back to you, do call or text again as he will definitely follow up!) I replied to his text w/ pics and my concerns. He replied via text it was likely one of two issues and went on to not only provide an estimate for each repair but also let me know that the (VERY REASONABLE!!) service fee he charges for the initial visit would be deducted from the cost of any repairs he does. This was so helpful as the dishwasher is over 10 years old and had the text quote been terribly high we likely wouldn't have had him come out at all -we would've just purchased a new dishwasher. Fast forward, Matt came out (on a Saturday no less-and didn't charge more for the Sat call!) and said there was nothing wrong with it at all and that it only looked like a lot of water because the original installer tipped the dishwasher back (a lot) when he installed it. He said everything was working fine and to just run it till it dies! I greatly appreciate his honesty (again, he could've told us it was one of the other problems he suspected and we would not have know any better!) and he was well worth the cost of the service call. Sorry to have to post this so long after Matt was here. I called Miami appliance repair in July of 2012, my kitchen aid dishwasher was not getting the dishes clean. matt came out took one look at it and said that I probably needed a new impeller motor and a door latch switch. he said that it would cost more than a new machine! I paid him the service charge of 49.95 and he left. Me being very mechichaly inclined I took apart the motor and found a chicken bone lodged in the impeller opening, it took about five minutes to discover that. I replaced the door latch switch and the machine is now working better than ever. if a service is going to come out to your house to check an appliance the least that they should do is a little better job of investigating the problem. I would never call this company again and felt ripped off of my 49.95 ticket number was 276412 I just found the invoice now other wise I would have posted this long ago. read more

I was skeptical about finding a company to repair my refrigerator online. When I went on the website for Miami Appliance Repair and saw that they welcomed reviews from their customers I knew they had to be confident in their services. I'm glad that I was right. I called and spoke to Matt who was friendly and gave me a good price from the start. He even returned ASAP to do an additional repair to my old refrigerator that kept giving me problems, now its working like new again. He saved me from having to shell out extra cash on buying a new refrigerator and now I can buy groceries and have cold beverages again.
