By far one of the worst funniest experiences I've ever had with this coin shop. I'm guessing by way the sales rep approached the whole transaction, they are trained to scope out any potential customers that may seem like they wouldn't know much about purchasing precious metals. Right when I walked in, I asked about the deals going on surrounding their silver coins. Thus, right off rip, I was informed that they didn't have any silver rounds and that they only carried government minted rounds charging $8 - $12 over spot. I then almost immediately called my Dad over the phone just to get a second opinion because right then I had already knew this place was trying to rip me off. Get this, when I eventually got ahold of my Dad and he had a chat with the sales rep, all of a sudden they "only" had around 20 silver rounds available which they previously had none available 3 minutes before hand. Although, being told they charge $5 over spot for silver rounds my Dad proceeded to say that they had some really "steep prices." I'm guessing the owner didn't like that comment too much because after ward he told me that he didn't want to continue business with us and that we weren't welcomed because we thought the prices were "too steep." Not only that but he completely discarded me as a potential customer by aggressively moving the sales rep out of the way to put the coins back behind the counter, which he also had done so whilst I was in the middle of viewing the silver coins. Not only is this place a complete joke, but I don't recommend you buy anything from here if your new to purchasing precious metals. They will do everything they can, including lie about inventory just to get a deal off of you. I traveled all the way over there from FIU just to get this type of customer service. I urge you to protect yourselves and protect your investments far away from these people! read more

I have been making gold and silver jewelry and coin purchases from Miami Gold Coins since 2002. I have been selling mint grade gold and silver coins to them since approximately 2012. Yes, their purchase price offered for my mint grade coins was not the best, but they were close to home and the staff friendly. For many years I believed the organization to be top notch; however that is no longer the case. I do not know if Miami Gold Coin's business has taken a turn for the worse, or the public's ever increasing use of the internet for personal sales and purchases has taken its toll on the organization, but things have changed. The last two friends I recommended Miami Gold Coins to advised that their experience relating to selling silver and/or gold was not very good. The staff was rude and the purchase estimates (offers) based upon penny weight and spot prices were unacceptable. My own and more recent experiences with Miami Gold Coins was horrible. Andrew is not the young and very ethical and moral business owner I knew. Andrew's staff has the "routine" pawn shop attitude of "move them in and out quickly, don't give the customer time to think about the weight and grade of their silver and close deal before the customer knows what has hit them. The quotes from both Andrew and his staff vary considerably. If you challenge their offers or attempt to understand their calculations, they try to convince you that their computations are based upon some kind of trade secret or "secret sauce" and you can either take the deal or leave it. Miami Gold Coins has become really greedy. There are plenty of silver and gold dealers and jewelry shops in Miami that will pay you far more for your scrap gold and silver and/or jewelry. Don't be fooled by Miami Gold Coins attitude of "we are a family owned business and the good guys so sell all your stuff to us." They are scam artists and they really prey on the most vulnerable. read more
