This place is the reason why i prefer supporting small hardware stores rather than going to Home Depot or Lowe's. They treat their customers right,. They treat me like a queen! Today I went there and the moment i stepped in, I was greeted cheerfully. The guy asked me what I need, and then proceeded to grab a basket and took me where the products are, and filled my basket with what I need. Once, I went there to duplicate a key. They didn't have the same base key to file from, so they use another one. Took the staff extra time to do that, and then he insisted that i do not need to pay for it, as he wasn't sure if it would work perfectly. Another time, they didn't have what I was looking for (an item I have been seeking in many places), the guy offered to ask the buyer to see if he can make a special order. I urgently needed an electric cable for my generator to feed my electric panel. All stores were sold out for electric cables. I was happy to purchase the last available cable in the entire neighborhood even if some of the plastic was open and the label was half scratched, paid cash and left. When I tried to use the cable, I realized I purchased the wrong one, I paid $80 for it and I thought i would return it immediately because it can help another family and also because in the aftermath of a hurricane, $80 in cash is something when most stores accept only cash. I had everything, the receipt, the plastic wrapper, the cable is in selling condition and it would probably sell in a couple of hours. No, the salesperson I interacted with told me they don't accept returns on hurricane items. Ok, so an electric cable is a hurricane item now? You can need a cable anytime In the year whenever you remodel a room or need to perform an electric repair. I asked to speak with the manager because the salesperson said it's his order but he was not there. So it leaves me with a very sour taste of my visit there. This is not right to take advantage of a hurricane to have this type of behavior. The Home Depot next door has a completely different attitude, same for South Dade Electrical. If you like your community, I strongly encourage you to avoid the Pinecrest Home Center. read more

Arrived fifteen minutes before closing. Rushed and was at the registered ten before closing. The cashier told me that he had closed the registered when i went to pay cash and would only accept credit card. I offered to provide exact change or even over pay. Cashier refused and told me to come back in the morning. Won't come back in the morning or ever. Horrific customer service. Avoid. This was the last straw. JUST NOT FRIENDLY. I live very close. Would prefer to shop here vs Home Depot. They have a lot of merchandise here. The problem is the cold attitude of the male staff. Last time I came to make keys I ended up leaving due to complete lack of customer service. Which is the one reason to go to this type of hardware store vs a big box store. I walked in for some electrical supplies. I asked one of the new employees if he worked there as he had no name tag or any kind of uniform on. He glared at me and sarcastically said "what do you think?" After telling him how rude that was and I no longer wanted help, he said "oh so sorry did you want me to hold your hand or something?" I then spoke with the manager and asked him why your employees are being so disrespectful. He responded by telling me "he's new....Just like you, now what do you want?" I really can't believe this business has maintained itself as long as it has with employees like this. It's appalling and I will never take my business there again. Terrible service at paint counter! Went to get a color match with THE ACTUAL PAINT CAN and was told by the attendant that he couldn't match the paint without a piece of the wall or baseboard. I am a general contractor and get paint matched all the time. This seems ridiculous. I should not have to CUT a paint sample out of an existing wall to get a color match when I have the original paint can. This is actually costing ME money on repairs and time. read more

I visited this store recently and when I asked the 2 people for a item they both looked at each other in confusion. They didn't know what the tool was so I had to go look for a 3rd person and he told me the wrong isle. Seems like they hire kids who have no experience at all in such a store. Furthermore they have a shady policy that things can not be returned and i asked why and was told by the cashier that they don't accept most items back after the hurricane. I stated that the hurricane is way over and what if the tool I needed didn't fit or work? I really try to support the mom and pop shops but i will never return this shop. I had two excellent recent experiences in the paint department of this store. On the first day, I purchased five sample colors for the exterior of my house. The young man who helped me at the paint counter was extremely patient with my indecision and was very helpful with color choices. When I got home and tested the samples, one was exactly what I wanted! I returned the next day to purchase a large quantity of this beautiful color. The gentleman at the paint counter could not have been nicer -- helpful with suggestions about the type of paint and sheen that I wanted, careful to record the information in case I needed to come back for more, efficient with the transaction, and courteous about wheeling the big 5-gallon drum to my car and getting it into the trunk. This is the reason I prefer to "shop small" -- friendly, patient service and genuine expertise. read more

I have always loved the help and attention I have received at this hardware store but this review is a WARNING to customers about a shocking trend concerning screws. I purchased $27 worth of screws. They were 45 cents each and 59 cents each, so not many to return to the boxes and they were the same type just a different size and the boxes were next to each other. When I realized I didn't need them and returned to the store I was told there was no refund for the screws because it took time to put the screws back in the boxes, no store credit or anything. If I couldn't use them I might as well throw them away. I live in an apartment with little space and not likely to use them so that is what I had to do. I am so disappointed with this policy. I could have put them back my self but that wasn't allowed. read more

I have been a costumer for years and had great feed back until August of 2016 where I bought a generator in the mist of a hurricane and it has been a nightmare since. Generator was open, manager made the sale in the middle of a huge line they offered to turn it on so that I could see it was working, offered a $50 discount and place the generator in the car while I made a huge line. I left with no receipt, was not aware of no return policy on hurricane items. When I got home I was surprised to see a used generator that was rusted. I called the store since I was not giving a receipt and told them I was not satisfied. Took the generator back and left it with Silvio the manager, I wanted a store credit not even my money back. 8 months later trying to resolve problem w American Express and owner, they ask me to pick up the generator because there is nothing further they can do. No discount was giving at the time of purchase, so I paid full price for a used item. Please be careful when purchasing from them. read more
