Given the summer heat we opted to sit indoors, but by a full length open window, allowing a lovely indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Reservations are definitely required - this place was packed! We ordered a couple glasses of vino, and a few dishes to share: 1. Bruschetta - while presented in a unique fashion this appetizer was honestly not my favorite. I enjoy bruschetta in bite size pieces with a good amount of balsamic vinegar on top. This was served in giant pieces of bread that we had to cut ourselves, resulting in the tomatoes falling everywhere and no balsamic to be seen. I'd skip this. 2. Pasta Alla Zozzona - loved this dish! Pasta was evidently fresh and made in-house, what an incredible flavor! And the sauce was chefs kiss. One of their most popular menu items for a reason. 3. Di Carne Pizza - their pizzas are all personal pan size, perfect for sharing if you are ordering a pasta as well. This was a delicious choice! I've dined at Mia's Italian Kitchen MANY times over the years...and with good reason. Mia's has an excellent location - literally steps from the Old Town Alexandria waterfront - and has both indoor and outdoor patio dining available. While some reviews have characterized Mia's as being "touristy", I tend to disagree. Having visited with friends/family as well as out of town guests, there is a reason that this place is a local favorite. Some visiting work colleagues were staying in Old Town, and for their last night, 10 of us decided to have our team dinner at Mia's. Another bonus that this place can accomodate larger groups...usually in the upstairs dining room. But I HIGHLY suggest making reservations ahead of time, since this place is super booked during prime dinner hours. TIP: While patio dining is perferrred for the Spring and cooler summer months, if you're looking to escape the heat, request sitting upstairs as the first floor is smaller and tends to be 5-10 degrees warmer. When everyone arrived, we were seated in a long table, and our friendly server arrived promptly to take drink orders. I went with the suggested Espresso cocktail (don't remember the exact name), which was refreshing for a hot summer day. Swirls of strong coffee flavor mixed perfectly with icy rum. Skipped appetizers and just ordered one of my favorites, which is the All-Beef Meatball sandwich. The side portion of Sunday Salad was a mixture of crisp iceberg lettuce, tossed with roma tomatoes, cucumbers, marinated cannellini beans, pickled red onions, and topped with zesty italian dressing. The meatball sub is HUGE. The meat is fork tender and not overseasoned, which allowed the san marzano marinara and melted mozzarella to complement the flavor profile. I was only able to consume 1/4 of the sandwich at the restaurant, which was perfect since I had lunch for the next day. Everyone had a wonderful time, and another bonus that even for a large party, having the bill split into separate checks wasn't an issue...unlike at some restaurants. If you're visiting Old Town and want a place that is able to cater to most palates, Mia's Italian should be at the top of your list. This has to be one of the best brunch spots in the DC area--and easily one of the best in Alexandria. The $32 bottomless brunch is an incredible deal. The dishes just keep coming, with plenty of options, generous portions, and consistently delicious food. We practically tried almost everything on the menu, and every single dish was well executed--even the scrambled eggs, which are surprisingly hard to get right! This is a real gem of a place in a sea of restaurants in Old Town. Parking is always tight, so take the trolley or just walk because it will be well worth it. I stopped in for lunch and had a Personal Pan pizza. It smelled great even before the pan landed on the table. For food, we came as a larger group so pretty much a little bit of everything. Nonnas Sunday gravy was delicious, it was rich and hearty. The cacio e Pepe was delicious also, creamy with the Al dente noodles. The giant meatball was surprisingly really good and really big. The pizzas were also good. We tried a couple different ones and and really liked the fungi one. Because it was brunch there's a good selection of sweets too! While in Orlando, I visited a Mia's Italian Kitchen. Well, my experience in Florida was so good, I had to come back and happy we have one here. When my friend asked me to pick where I wanted. I said I wanted to visit the Mia's in Old Town, he laughed, and said, "Mia's? That's what you want?" Mia's was absolutely what I wanted. On a weekday, Mia's in Old Town was packed! By 6:30 p.m. it was hustling and bustling, he was surprised too, he had never been and he was impressed by the patronage. He doesn't eat what he calls casual dining. Although a little loud and tables close together, we managed to catch up, talk, and just appreciate time to reconnect. I would not recommend this as a first date but definitely date night worthy. Not dressy but perfect for work attire/causal dining. Ambiance is great, busy, live and popular. Service was excellent. Happy hour is available but only at the bar, it was so crowded we didn't get to pregame. Let's get into it! I came here to celebrate a birthday lunch as it was highly recommended. The place was hoppin and fun in a cute and trendy neighborhood. It's a multi level eatery with distinctive dining spaces and an open kitchen on the upper floor. The menu had lots of good options, even for the most pickiest of eaters. We placed our orders and we were off to a good start with a pitcher of sangria. The establishment was packed on a weekday but the staff was friendly and attentive. We patiently waited for our starters and it did take awhile. However once it came, the rest of our meal followed quickly. For starters we had zucchini fries, bruschetta and fried provolone cheese. Next we had Caesar salad and the Sunday salad. Then came the mussels fra diavola, shrimp fra diavola, eggplant parmigiana, bucatini cacio e pepe and Mia's Italian sandwich. All this ended with their tiramisu and chocolate chip cannoli. The portions were generous and we all left with our bellies quite full. Indeed it was a deliciously decadent lunch but well worth it. What a treat! We came here on a whim well mostly because it smelled good and they had outdoor dining! We had our pup with us and they were really accommodating and kind. The menu is impressive and I like the idea of the all you can eat brunch, I'll definitely plan for that in the future. We were fully expecting to wait at least an hour because this place is always hopping. This was my first time here and his infinite time here. So glad we were able to get here. I would say within ten minutes they were able to make a space for us to sit and eat. Disclaimer; stretchy pants saves lives at bottomless brunch. So bottomless brunch is 32$/person and the entire table has to do the brunch thing, other option is à la carte. Drinks are not included in the bottomless brunch price but you can buy one of the brunch menu and refills are half off, after that first drink. We both ordered in sets of two (minus round three, I was struggling to finish my meal, and he was on round three lol! My mom said I ate more today than I do in a week, she's not wrong). Since it was bottomless brunch... we had a lot of choices and I couldn't possibly review them all but everything was excellent even the mussels (I hate mussels and clams in general nature because I have texture ick, but I need to try food and these were legit). Overdue review ( date of visit: 1/10/2026) After visiting the Torpedo Factory it was time to eat. It was pouring so we did t want to go far. Yelp directed us to Mia's across the street. Not sure if it was because it was Saturday or because of the rain, but the place was packed. No tables available for walk-ins for another two hours. Luckily there was counter space available by the window. So we took it. Good thing because this spot was a gem. Great food and service. It was our last day in the DMV so we decided to go all out and go with the Bottomless Brunch to try their different dishes. The diet starts tomorrow, right? We got the Bolognese Baked Eggs, Meatball Benedict, Blue Mussels, Classic Caesar, Giant Meatball, Nonna's Sunday Gravy, the Margherita Pizza and the Prosciutto & Fog Pizza, an the House Made Donuts to cap the meal off. Our server told us the bottomless brunch sizes were smaller except for the pizzas since they are personal (4 slices). Still, the portions were generous. The giant meatball was the size of a softball. Never disappoint visiting this place. We went there once again for the brunch all you can eat. My favorite is the Jumbo Shrimp Fra Diavola. The shrimps were cooked so so good and the spaghetti was so fresh and good, it has exceed my expectation to any noodles dishes. For dinner, I had the spaghetti alla carbonara with blackened chicken--rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked. This was a very pleasant surprise. I had not visited the Old Town Alexandria Virginia area before and my parents decided to take me there. The cobblestoned streets and old antique style lamp lights that lined the street gave the street and town this 1700's type feel. They even have trolleys to get around which is what I believe we rode on. We had to trek quite a ways away to get there but DC's and Virginia's or at least Falls Church's bus and subway system is pretty top notch. It's also extremely clean which was impressive and well organized. Getting there was literally half the battle but once we were there, I understood why people enjoyed it so much. It was dimly lit on the inside but charming and modern all at once and kind of trendy. It was also very busy. I think we contemplated waiting in the bar area or eating in the bar area but then a four top opened up and we migrated to the main dining area. My dad ordered a bottle of wine which I always like to verify for approval on fhe Vivino app which may sound silly and like an added extra step but to me it's habitual coming from a hospitality background. I was kind of a wine snob back then and would only choose wines that were ranked like 3.9 or above but times have changed and I can't be that snooty or snobby I think one of my favorite things to get at any restaurant is the table bread which I am not sure if that is a customary thing in Italy because I feel like that's more of like a Westernized thing, but I am totally down for it. Granted bread is carbs and not great for you because it converts to glucose (sugar) and keeping suagr levels down is key, but if i am ever out as I used to go out a lot more years ago since i could afford it, table bread was a must lol There is really not much to say...The food quality was superb. Wine delectable, Dessert the same. This was also three years ago back in 2023 that I went there so remembering what I had was tough but pictures help. I recall it was a chicken parm with melted mozzarella cheese and light sauce as tomato sauce unless it's a non acidic pomodoro sauce doesn't really sit well with me. I ordered it with rigatoni and alfredo sauce because alfredo sauce is like my obsession. It's such cheesy creamy goodness which again I know is not great for you but it tastes delicious. Some restaurants get it right while others get it wrong and this one surely got it right. Their shredded parmesian reggiano cheese was also really nice and the server put a pretty generous portion of that on my dish. I always feel awkward asking for more cheese because it feels like a I am making an imposition towards the server but then again they ask if we'd like it as a garnish so why not. I always enjoyed piling parm cheese for people as a server. The more, the merrier:) As for dessert I recall we had a flourless chocolate lava cake. It had that melted chocolate that would ooze out of it served with a scoop of cold, creamy, decadent vanilla bean ice cream on top and powdered sugar to top it off. To say I was in a happy place was an understatement. I felt really grateful my parents invited me out to dinner to enjoy such a delicious meal. I also thought it a creative added touch how they presented the check in this trinket box that saif MIA's on it. It was placed inside this closed box with a latch you had to open. Pretty smart on their part to do so because that way people can't escape paying the check as that does happen in hospitality. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. You can tell everything's fresh and housemade, including the pastas! *Meatballs and Meat sauce all made with BEEF only (no pork, for those who don't eat pork.) The only suggestion I have is, I wish their pizzas came with a thin crust option. (Very thick) - so glad we ordered pizzas last or we wouldn't have been able to try everything. My sis came to town and was looking for somewhere open late to eat on a Wednesday evening. Mia's Kitchen was open and quite busy. Our server, Shelby, was excellent! She had great recommendations and consistently checked on us. My sis got a glass of Chardonnay, and I got the Strawberry Limoncello Margarita. We both enjoyed our choices. For food, I was basic with the parmigan and my sister had a dish with gluten free noodles. She was thoroughly impressed/shocked that the noodles were good. I can't remember what they were made from but my sis said they didn't have an odd texture or taste. I'm sure she will ask to come back on that alone. This was personally my third visit and as well, great food, great service. Everything is fresh and obviously homemade. Since it's scratch kitchen you are able to request modifications and I love that because I've never had risotto and wasn't sure about it as I really wanted noodles for my piccata and they were able to accommodate. There was nothing we didn't enjoy. Not pictured, is the fig pizza and I just won't stop thinking about it. This place is definitely more intimate. Our last visit we were celebrating a birthday and took a while to sit down but eventually did sit down our 10 top. My friends got the sangria and birthday loved it. The art is beautiful, makes you feel fancy. I've hear great things about their brunch!! I will keep everyone posted! read more

Came here to try out the brunch with a girlfriend and the food and service was AMAZING!!! Our server was super friendly and checked up on us frequently. She also made sure we had clean utensils and plates in between each order. I liked how the brunch pasta options are in a smaller portion so you can try different options. In addition to the italian dishes, they also had breakfast food with some type of italian flair. Out of all the dishes we tried, I really enjoyed the mussels and prosciutto and fig pizza.
