Just a little date out after a long flight from OR. Such a sweet cozy place, with a warm homey feel. All staff were amazing and attentive, greeting us as we came in. It was New Year's Eve and the atmosphere felt festive and celebratory. Suggestions from Waiter were spot on. Dishes came out expediently and were steaming hot. All combinations of seasoning were decadent and the pasta cooked perfectly. Prices were not bad at all. Will definitely come back if in the area again.

We love dining at The Portofino Restaurant--it's truly a hidden gem in Crystal City. The Hilton nearby highly recommended it, and it has become our favorite spot. We live 35 miles west but happily make the trip whenever we can. This third-generation family-owned restaurant has such a welcoming feel, especially thanks to owner and Culinary Institute-trained chef Richard, who makes every guest feel at home. Our favorite dish is the Omaggi Di Nettuno--a delicious combination of half lobster, scallops, and shrimp in a rich rosé cream sauce. We recently celebrated my husband's birthday there and enjoyed an amazing Chianti that Richard recommended. Every visit feels special, and we always look forward to coming back.

Had a very nice and quiet dinner here while on a business trip. The dining room was warm and cozy, and I had the impression that the restaurant had a sense of tradition and a long history of certain dishes. I had the Pollo Portofino and it was good - I totally went clean plate on the chicken and pasta, but the vegetables were a bit bland. Service was quiet and effective, and I was really happy I left the hotel and visited. Went back with a happy and full stomach!

Such a great, small establishment. The dining room has this old Italian home feeling. Another thing I love that they do is half-size pasta dishes. Allows you to get a few, smaller portions and try different dishes. Very reasonably priced with friendly staff.

Came here for a group dinner with a large group. We were seated in the back dining room. We started off with some drinks, ordered appetizers and finally the entrees. It did take a while for all of our food to come out, given that we had such a large group. However, everyone enjoyed the food and company. Overall, it was a good experience and would recommend trying it out!

It's Italiano! The bread was fresh and warm, and it warmed our bellies after a long day of walking around DC in the cold! We didn't have a reservation, but they were kind enough to seat us. I ordered calamari for our table, and then we ordered dinner. The servers were nice and kept asking if we wanted more bread, which my kids also didn't say no to. The entrees were ok. The dish I ordered was way too salty for my liking. My daughter got half a portion of the Alfredo, but the full portion was almost the same price. It's a local restaurant with regulars that the waiters are familiar with! It was pleasant and had that old-school traditional feel. I think they have upstairs seating from other folks going up the stairs. They have parking in the back, and it could be a bit confusing if you do not pay attention to the sign at the front. I don't know if I would go back here, but we all have different taste buds, and this could be a place you're interested in checking out.

Great food and service! Had the pollo portofino, side of fettuccine alfredo with the tres letches special for dessert. All was so good, full of flavor and delicious. What impressed me the most was the staff and service. My glass was never empty, Julio the waiter was very knowledgeable and steered me in the right direction. The environment was very clean, relaxing and would make a great environment for a romantic evening.

It doesn't have the best selection of bourbon or of Irish whiskey among the ABCs, but it has a solid selection of each where you can almost always find something good. The selection of brandy/congnac is limited but it has options. If you want to go out of your way to find a specific bottle, this might not be your place, but if you're looking to buy a range of bottles for home use, a party, etc., you can find a satisfactory offering here. It's caddy corner of the Hilton Crystal City, and it's about the size of a larger studio apartment (aka IT'S SMALL). We went there searching for White Claw ( cause of course we did), and found out that they don't have any beers for sale. They don't have any wines for sale either. Is this a thing in VA? I know beers and wines are in like supermarkets and stuff, but do they not have them in the liquor stores too? Either way, good news was that they did have tonic water and a few mixers. Picked up some tonic for my gin, and then headed across the street where I found White Claw in a 7-11 of all places. So, would definitely recommend this place is your in search of Liquor ( and it's a pretty mainstream brand) as the selection is not huge.

I finally asked a cleaning lady to find out where the store entrance was. She said I needed to walk down a precarious tamp to the parking garage, and then search out an elevator to ride up to the store. There were absolutely no signs anywhere inside of this parking garage, however I did finally manage to find the store. A ended-up little frustrated. The shop is super clean and has a modern, welcoming energy that works whether you're grabbing a quick treat or sitting down for a full meal. I love the spacious vibrant design of this place, plenty of seating and standing area. I came for the donuts but stayed for the quality. I tried the Black Forest Vegan Donut, and it was soooooooooo delicious. Sometimes vegan pastries can be hit-or-miss with texture, but this one was spot on... rich, flavorful, and definitely a must-try. I wish they have a few more options for vegan donuts though. I had try Kings Hot Cocoa with Oatmilk, so happy they have non-dairy milk substitutions available. I love that they use housemade cocoa here. It's a more sophisticated version of hot chocolate, definitely more bitter than sweet, next time I will ask for chocolate sauce to be added to off balance the bitterness. It's rich and authentic, not that powdery artificial stuff you find at chains. I was surprised by their huge variety. Beyond the wall of donuts, they have a full breakfast menu, plus happy hour and drink specials. It seems like a great place to transition from a morning coffee to a late afternoon cocktail. They also have a rewards program, which is a no-brainer to sign up for if you live in the area with just your phone number. The staff was very nice and patient while I was deciding (it's hard to choose when everything looks so good!). The whole place is very well-kept and feels like a spot where they actually care about the details. The only slight hurdle is the parking situation. It's paid street parking, and it can be a bit of a challenge to find an open spot nearby. Just give yourself a few extra minutes to circle the block or be prepared to walk a short distance it's def worth it!
