11:15 and doors still locked what's the point of lighting up the open sign if you aren't going to serve people

There was a group hanging out front full of smiles, conversation, and laughter-great space for hanging on a summer night. I had the Turtle made with chocolate ice cream. I really found it cool that they had lots of different Sundaes available and some were in a layered form in a cup and others were a more traditional sundae. Next time I definitely want to try out one of their unique sundaes some of the ones that stuck out to me was a coconut one and strawberry shortcake one. They all also had individual drawings along with what was in them to describe the sundaes, which I thought was really, really cute. I really liked that this place is not cookie cutter. It is just what I would've imagined an ice cream shop would've been like in the 80s and 90s, tons of personality. There was a good amount of seating around the ice cream shop that you could enjoy your treat at. I ended up going with a dipped cone and I chose the cake batter dip and it was really good. They had about 10 different things. You could dip the soft serve ice cream cones in. I will definitely be back!

Seriously, why we went out for ice cream when it was 0 degrees again outside is completely beyond…read moreme but I figured since I was here, I might as well have fun with my dessert! La Michoacana has super fantastic flavors. They make all of their ice cream themselves and also have several fruit based sorbet-like options. There's also a bunch of more exotic/tropical fruit flavors that they get specifically shipped to them such as guava, mango and a few others I can't pronounce properly. The family who owns the store is adorable. The mom let us sample as many flavors as we wanted and often times started giving us samples before we even asked for it, probably because our faces of woah, what's that! was too bizarre. After deliberating for a very long time, I decided to go with a scoop of guava sorbet and a scoop of the Mexican twinkie with chocolate (not sure what it's really called). I absolutely fell in love with the guava sorbet because it's one of my favorite fruits of all time. Beware that they include the seeds inside the sorbet (sounds weird, but I loved that). The Mexican twinkie with chocolate does not pair well with the guava but who cares. It is much sweeter, creamier, with bits of chocolate pieces! So many interesting flavors (the watermelon sorbet is another awesome one), very well-priced for the large scoops they give you, and a welcoming atmosphere. Who wouldn't love it? P.S. Please let it be possible for me to get some of this guava sorbet shipped to my apartment in the city!!

Try the pineapple sorbet; I have never had a better treat. It was so unexpected to find these unusual and incredible flavors. They also have food that looks so good. Dairy Queen is everywhere, who cares? This place is unique, special, and memorable. They will see me again and again and again! Walk in, ask for samples (I had 4 samples) and then choose. You cannot choose wrong! Next time I am going to come and get food first and then dessert.

There's a small seating area inside but plenty outside. Parking is on the street and nearby lot. I tried the coffee toffee crunch and it was really good. Not too sweet and a good amount of toffee.
