Had some great cold treats from this family owned business in Pingree Grove. It maintains a rural setting even though it's next to a subdivision. The Milk House has classic flavors along with the modern and more experiential too. A busy place whether or not the weather is cold. You may wait awhile but it's not crazy long of a wait to be honest. Came here on the weekend and it was crazy busy. It's got a parking lot but it was all filled. There were cars parked all along the street. Getting here sure took awhile. Had to walk from a few blocks away just to get in line and wait even longer. Actually the line moved pretty fast. Lots of flavors that always change up. It's about $3 for a scoop in a cup. We also got a bottle of pop. Flavors include grape. The ice cream list rotates. We got some of the Pink Lemonade Sorbet. Basically it's sour and sweet as one can expect. They also have Vietnamese Cinnamon if wanting a more exotic flavor. Great place to hang out around here for families and anyone. The Milk House is located in Pingree Grove. Mostly farm land out here, so most of the support is probably from the locals. There was a line when we walked up and a dry erase sign with the flavors of the day. There were regular flavors offered along with some contemporary ones like cantaloupe, grape lemonade sorbet, and pineapple upside down cake for example. The line progressed fairly quickly. On the inside was a freezer with pints and quarts, homemake cookies, and a variety of old fashioned bottled sodas all for sale. Service was nice and friendly, however the shop was lacking in posted prices. Samples are available and I tried blueberry pie. I opted for a scoop of the key lime pie and it turned out to be creamy and delicious. It captured the slightly tart but sweet flavor of key lime pie with sprinkles of graham cracker crust. I was told the vanilla was great as well. The one scoop was a generous portion priced a little over $4. I loved the experience and look forward to coming back and trying other flavors of ice cream, sherbet, and sorbet! read more

This past week I went there and it was closed (The Milk House is never closed). I went back the following day and the teenagers weren't working. It was just the owner, Brandon, all by himself. He appeared to be stoned out of his mind! There was hardly a line and it took forever for him to serve people. People were leaving, The Milk House was loosing business because of him. I recently heard that he didn't schedule anyone because he's been too messed up to do so and he also forgot to pay his entire staff this past Friday. No wonder why the teenagers weren't working! I could taste the fresh strawberries in it , combined with cream it was heavenly. We also ordered the banana split and two scoops of raspberry and butter pecan. All the flavors were on point, fresh and delicious. Not overwhelming with sugar. The place is small but there is plenty of picnic tables outdoors and insure a barn too.
