We were informed he had to pick up parts from another office, but communication about this delay was poor. Despite instructions at scheduling to call my husband's phone (as he was home), the tech claimed he called my number, which I didn't receive due to my secured work environment. My husband had to call to inquire about the delay. The job itself was a substantial undertaking: replacing our water heater and upgrading its size, which required new pipes and parts. It was clear from the start that this was a two-person job. Our technician, working alone, struggled significantly to bring in the large new unit. My husband had to step in and help carry equipment, even opening our back basement door to assist. We had not been informed of the unit's increased size, which would have allowed us to move items to facilitate delivery. My husband also had to intervene to remove doors to prevent damage to our home during the maneuver. The work began with an estimate of "a few hours," so we prepared by reserving water for essential needs. However, the installation proved far more complex and time-consuming. The water heater tray got bent during the single-person installation, reinforcing our belief that a job of this magnitude requires more than one technician. My husband was constantly checking in and assisting throughout the day. When I arrived home at 5:00 PM, there was still no water, and our reserved supply was dwindling, problematic for a household of seven. I couldn't cook dinner and had to go out to purchase food for the family. During this time, I noticed our technician had taken no breaks and had no food or drinks. I brought him some, so he could at least eat while working. We even had to make a trip to a local store to use the bathroom. My husband's vigilance proved crucial when he noticed the mixing valve hadn't been installed. The technician had to partially disassemble the work to install it, further extending the job. Finally, after 8:00 PM, the installation was complete. We had to flush all our sinks, toilets, and showers, and finally had water after 8:30 PM. I made payment at 9:20 PM; the technician was at our home for over nine hours, significantly more than the initial estimate. We were finally able to shower after 10:00 PM. While the technician provided good service and was diligent in his work, the logistical and communication issues, combined with the evident need for additional support for such a large installation, made for a very long and inconvenient day. Mayfair was absolutely excellent!! He came in and recognized the problem, but my faucet handle wouldn't come off to address it. He worked hard to get that handle off! What I appreciated the most was that I suggested he take a handle from another bathroom so that my fixtures will match on the main floor. He did that, but we didnt have to use it because he was able to get the old handle off. Basically what I'm saying is Mayfri took the time to ensure he completed the work to my satisfaction. He spent so much time with my job (multiple issues) that I asked if he has other jobs. He takes pride in his work and he said, "I have to make sure my customers are satisfied before I can move to my next job." He proved that. Michael & Son can be pricey, but every technician I have gotten has proven to justify the cost at times. Also, if you go to them, get the Gold Plan. You don't have to pay for service calls and get a discount on services. It comes in handy when you experience issues, especially multiple issues. read more

On the scheduled service day we received a text that allowed us to track the technician's arrival. The service provided by technician Marlon Hammonds exceeded our expectations. Linus came to do my every 6 month HVAC check and he was very polite and shook my hand like a professional. He was very through with the inspection and showed me all the photos he had taken of the air handler and explained what should be done to keep my unit in tip top shape. I asked the dispatcher to relay to him I had a hurt leg and asked if he could open the cattle gate to let himself into the driveway. He opened and shut the gate behind him and did the same when he left which I found very respectful and appreciative of him. I thought the service cost was $69 but Linus said they had a special and it was only $59 today which was great news to me. Great service with great cost! They are responsive to get your business speak about there great customer aero w family business that has been in business for a long time but...once you spend over 10k for the service get installed and NO RESPONSE. I installed a total System and paid for the maintenance plan and extended warranty called for my first service guy was to come June 3, was three hours late and didn't have the filter foe the system they just installed in January I have called every week spoke with two managers and left a message for the manager's manager to call me and still haven't heard anything from them....do not get scammed as I have been they took my money and ran with it, my system keeps saying it needs an air filter but no one to do the maintenance which is spent over 2k for...DO NOT BE A SUCKER, like they are doing to me, the sales man won't even call back!! read more

We have a gold plan for our home. They came out to do our annual heating inspection. We received a call before the technician arrived and a text with a cool bio about him before he got there. He arrived masked, with shoe covers and ready to work- ON TIME! James did our inspection, shared some very helpful tips on maintaining or system and things to look out for in the future. James answered all of my questions without making me feel embarrassed for asking. Not to sound cliché, but it was almost like a commercial. When he was done, I waved him on saying goodbye feeling like I had a wonderful customer experience with James, an experienced HVAC professional. I contacted Michael and Sons for emergency service and they dispatched plumber technician Brian Jurkowski. He turned the water main on and quickly identified the source of a leak using a video camera. He accessed the ceiling through the smallest opening and worked for hours to install to new cooper tubing and fittings. He determined the cause of the leak to be sudden due to a faulty connection. He kept me informed of his progress and advised when he would have to water back on. I am a Gold Member and will be renewing with Michael and Sons again and will always ask for Brian. I love that both times I've used Michael and Sons they have been very courteous of my time and let me know when they would arrive. They have also been friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside is that they booked my appointment incorrectly so that the expense was greater than I was expecting because they didn't know I had my ac unit on a roof that required a 10 ft ladder.
