Mister Rogers! I had 4 electricians come in and gave me expensive quotes. Mister rogers came in and analyzed the amount of appliances connected to a circuit, and determined that the load was too much. While others just recommended me to install a new circuit, mister rogers said I could do that, or simple, take the power hog appliance (a dehumidifier) and plug it into a different circuit. Voila, that worked, and they actually didn't charge me any money. They are genuine and have integrity. I will now go to Mister Rogers for all of my electric needs! They are also getting into healthy electrical wiring too and faraday cages, which is a very unique and important skill. read more

Called MR to check a GFI that did not reset. Turns out I didn't push hard enough to reset GFI switch (that was on me). After the MR technician reset the GFI, he opened the outlet and told me that we had energized outlets (i.e power was powering the neutral wire and hot wire). This led to an additional $300 inspection charge to check all my GFI outlets for the alleged problem. During the inspection, I was forced to purchase an outlet for an additional $60 dollars because the technician could not get the wire disconnected from the original and he claimed the outlet was wired incorrectly. Then the tech opened my electrical box because he claimed to hear a buzzing sound. After he worked on the box , I started to experience issues with the breaker on my microwave. That cost me an additional $100 to replace a breaker and took much of the afternoon. Again, the issue with the breaker for my microwave only started once the tech started checking the box! A friend who is a licensed home inspector came out last night and examined the outlets and determined that they were not improperly energized (and the rewiring of the one outlet was not necessary). Apparently, if the technician had used a multi-meter to check the outlets he would have gotten the proper reading. I watched as the home inspector rechecked the outlets and confirmed they were good. Lastly, the MR tech claimed to hear a buzzing sound that I could not hear from the electrical box. He suggested I would need a new electrical box at a cost of $8,0000. Again the home inspector didn't see an issue. read more

Alexandria, VA - one of our circuit breakers was off so called MIster Rogers for help. They assured me all was safe after asking me a couple of questions. Then we scheduled the appointment. I received a text reminder the day of the appointment and 30 minutes before the friendly tech team arrived. The electricians were clean, neat and wore shoe covers to keep my house tidy. The quickly scoped out the problem fixed it and charged me on an iPad which outlined the work they performed. My ceiling light was not functioning. I was a bit unsure about doing electrical work myself especially in a condo where I have concerns if doing it myself would affect others in some random way. Anyway, they came on time, had all the tools and ballast in stock, were very clean while working, did the work a lot faster than I would have, and they were able to fix the ceiling light by the end of it. Price seemed fair considering time, tools, etc. One minor thing was fixture was kind of installed without this cardboard thing to keep small amount of light from bleeding though, but it isn't a big deal since nothing was broken and I can redo that part easy. To be fair to them though the fixture is semi cumbersome to reattach with the two small holes to realign so I don't blame them. Main job was done very well. Would recommend them / use them again for other potential projects as the main work done was very well. read more

This was a bad day for Mister Rogers Electric. A $1400.00 job botched to the last detail. I added an additional star cause they sent me a small refund in the mail (took them 2 months to do this. Apparently the check was "lost in the mail" - sure!). Keeping this as short as possible. Attached pictures will tell the story. Quote came in high but I chose Mister R because they have done work at my house before. Was installing a new line to the main breaker box with a new connection to a new bathroom fan. All-in-all 9 holes were cut in my drywall and when they were done they left a mess like I have never seen before. Drop cloth left behind, dry wall not replaced, saw dust everywhere, drill bits on the floor. It was insane! When I returned home a few days later my wife was in tears. What just happened here? We are done here. Have recommended Mr. R to a few friends but never again. They should have reimbursed us all the cost and fixed the mess they left behind. Instead they sent us a $100 check that we had to work for! What gives? Anyway, chose carefully. Personally we wont do this again. Enjoy the pictures..... read more

We needed an electrician to add an outlet above our stove so that we could purchase a mounted microwave above the stove and free up space on the counter. We also wanted another bathroom outlet. It was hard to get recommendations from friends because many in the DMV area rent rather than own due to the cost of housing. Mister Rogers had great reviews on Yelp so we decided to get an estimate from them and another company we found on Yelp. Our observations from the estimate visits: Mister Rogers is very polished. They came in wearing uniforms and had booties on their shoes to keep our floors clean. However, the estimate they gave us was nearly 300 more than the other company. The first thought was wow, why are they more expensive? But then my second thought was well, why is the other company so much cheaper...? I think most people's first instinct is to pick the cheaper option, but I was concerned about quality of the job, or guarantee that we're not going to find issues with the cheaper job later down the line. One thing I did like was that Mister Rogers says they'll do a little bit of drywall fixing, whereas the other company said they don't, meaning they'd leave with gaping holes in the walls. I'm about to have a baby this month, and gaping holes in the walls are not something I was looking forward to. We decided after all to go with Mister Rogers. They were punctual, had their uniforms and booties, and also laid down tarps everywhere they worked. My husband and I were both working from home that morning, and they were incredibly polite and respectful of letting us continue to work in peace. I think my husband and I were also expecting gigantic holes that they'd have to patch, but they were actually minimal, meaning the drywall touch up was also minimal. When they were done with the job, they did do a small touch-up on patching the drywall. All my husband has to do now is sand it down and touch up the paint, which is very pleasing to me. In the end, the final cost was $40 less than the estimate as well. In all, I was pleased with the service. Who knows, maybe I DID pay extra for fancy spancy show, when the other company could've done the same job with less frill. However, I do believe I paid for reassurance that the job would be done professionally so close to my due date, a time that I don't want to spend extra effort to make sure things go smoothly or require my husband to shift his focus on helping me with the baby. read more

We had them out to fix a ceiling fan & two way light switch. The good news is they didn't charge us anything more than their inspection fee. The bad news is that they couldn't fix either one. The ceiling fan, they said, had a burnt out motor, but they never opened up the motor to see if it was a simpler fix. The two way light switch just stopped working spontaneously one day. After an hour of poking around they claimed it wasn't fixable. Later when the office called us to ask what happened, they told us the workers said there were wires cut in the attic and we needed it all fixed. I find that hard to believe because there is 4 feet of insulation in the attic so where did they see that? And we don't have any other electrical issues. We recently started work on the home we will be moving into, and with the impending arrival of Baby Fox #2, found our timeline was rapidly moved up and getting really tight. Cesar from Mister Rogers Electric came out to give us an estimate on the work we wanted (ceiling fans and recessed lighting installed, taking out an old intercom/doorbell system, and some other odds and ends) and sent over the estimate right on the spot. He was very nice and easy to work with, and as a huge bonus, ended up making himself available for us pretty much ASAP even though initially he thought he wouldn't be able to start the work for a couple of weeks. He was super easy to communicate with via phone, text, and in person. Mister Rogers prices are not the cheapest from what I can tell, but he performed stellar work on our exact timeline, showed up exactly when he said he would every time, and in general was a pleasure to work with. We purchased a 70-year old home in 2020, and figured there would be some issues we'd have to address sooner than later. Over the last two years we noticed quite a few lights flickering, have had an inordinate number of bulbs - even LEDs - burn out, lost over half of our Christmas tree lights this past year, and were tripping a breaker probably once a month or so. It was time to seek the advice of a professional. We called Mr. Rogers and they came out to see what was going on. Given the age of the house, the configuration of the breaker panel (and sub-panel), and the symptoms we had been experiencing, they figured this was all the result of an old electrical system that had been expanded beyond its capacity. Mo - our technician - recommended a new power panel with a lifetime warranty and room for additional breakers for future growth (e.g. installing additional circuits in the garage for all the tools, future solar panels, future electric car chargers, etc.). We scheduled for a month or two out when I would be home. Mr. Rogers took care of the permitting, installed a new grounding system into the earth and bonded it to our water system, installed a brand new power panel with a whole-home surge protector, and finished it all in 2 days with only 2 areas of drywall disturbed. They did not fix the drywall, but they were upfront about that well before the work even began, so no complaints there. We had a minor issue immediately afterward where our electric range was not working properly. I texted Mo and he came out the next morning to troubleshoot. It turned out to be a minor issue with where the breaker was located in the panel (essentially the range was only getting 120V vice the 240V it needed), and he fixed it right then and there. The customer service was excellent, and the quality of work was superb. We will definitely be using Mr. Rogers for any future electrical work. read more

I rarely write reviews after only one interaction with a business, but my experience with Mister Rogers Electric was excellent and I wanted to give recognition to the great technicians who completed my job. I needed my bathroom exhaust fan replaced. The old model was more than 30 years old - with the wear and tear to show it - and was pretty securely lodged into the ceiling. Nevertheless, it was no problem for technicians Cesar and Omar. They arrived on time, were meticulous in making sure the bathroom was clean from any signs of work having been done, and finished the job within about an hour. They were also friendly, including to my dog. Price seemed reasonable, particularly for the level of service. I also appreciated their follow-up post card thanking me for my service. Nelson came over for what we thought was a routine fan installation and to check out an outlet. While taking down the old fan, he noticed that the brace was loose in the attic and used his smarts to cut a 2x4 and tighten up the brace so the new fan wouldn't shake like the old one. Once the fan installation was finished we asked him to check out a loose outlet in the kitchen. After examining it, he realized that the previous owners wired it incorrectly and It was a hazard. He fixed the wiring and put the new outlet base in there. The price was extremely reasonable and he kept the house clean and did an amazing job. Omar was very courteous and professional, and he went above and beyond to help us repair the holes in our drywall created by the installation of lights and replace our old outlet covers so they matched the new light switches.
