Over the years, he has refused all payments other than checks and complains about being tracked by the credit card companies, badmouthed other providers, told multiple horror stories about patients who supposedly had serious health complications after (take your pick) having corrective surgery, seeing other opticians, using the internet to get contacts, and so on. Laughably, he "banned me from his practice" (after being a client for over a decade!) because I used 1800contacts to get a new prescription after I'd moved thousands of miles away. I think he received an automated phone call from them in error, and I woke up the next day (on a holiday!) to rude voicemails and emails, accusations that I "decided to try & get around the law", and so on. Utterly unhinged. I stayed even after family stopped being willing to put up with him; spare yourself the trouble.

I decided to buy my Rayban eyeglasses at Lumen eye care back when it was called Illumineyes. Rather…read morethan buy them from a discount box store or chain store I paid a premium price thinking quality and customer service. I had to bring them back for an adjustment because the arm hinges became bent and they were adjusted. Earlier this year or late last year before they moved to their new location and changed their name, the hinges to the arms became misalign/bent again and they adjusted them a second time. This week I went to their new location and now called Lumen Eye Care because for a third time needed to be readjusted because again the hinges were bent/misaligned. This time when I checked in at the front desk and verified I bought these glasses there, a male person I think it was one of the doctors said I will help you. He asked what was the problem and I explained the issue and gave him the glasses. He took them out back and I was thinking like the previous visits he was adjusting them. Instead he was verifying I purchased them at the old location and name, when I bought them and knew I was backed at least once with this issue. He told me there was nothing he could do and it was a known issue with these Rayban glasses they don't even sell this particular frames anymore. So what changed from the last two times I been there.? They changed locations and name. If it was a known issue why didn't he tell me rather than fix them like the other two times? Didn't want to deal with products purchased at the old location and old name? I don't know the answer. I do know I will be getting a new prescription this summer and I do know I won't be buying them from Lumen Eye Care.

That had not happened over the 20 years or so that the previous owner, Dr Cotter, had owned the business and examined my eyes. One of Dr Fidler's staff suggested that my lenses were corrected too strongly; another noted the change she had made to my astigmatism correction. Dr Fidler did not take my complaints of headaches, nausea and dizziness seriously and was not curious about why her prescriptions were not working on me. I would definitely suggest that people looking for eye care go elsewhere.
