I decided to buy my Rayban eyeglasses at Lumen eye care back when it was called Illumineyes. Rather than buy them from a discount box store or chain store I paid a premium price thinking quality and customer service. I had to bring them back for an adjustment because the arm hinges became bent and they were adjusted. Earlier this year or late last year before they moved to their new location and changed their name, the hinges to the arms became misalign/bent again and they adjusted them a second time. This week I went to their new location and now called Lumen Eye Care because for a third time needed to be readjusted because again the hinges were bent/misaligned. This time when I checked in at the front desk and verified I bought these glasses there, a male person I think it was one of the doctors said I will help you. He asked what was the problem and I explained the issue and gave him the glasses. He took them out back and I was thinking like the previous visits he was adjusting them. Instead he was verifying I purchased them at the old location and name, when I bought them and knew I was backed at least once with this issue. He told me there was nothing he could do and it was a known issue with these Rayban glasses they don't even sell this particular frames anymore. So what changed from the last two times I been there.? They changed locations and name. If it was a known issue why didn't he tell me rather than fix them like the other two times? Didn't want to deal with products purchased at the old location and old name? I don't know the answer. I do know I will be getting a new prescription this summer and I do know I won't be buying them from Lumen Eye Care. read more

The real test of an excellent organization is how your treated when unexpected problems arise. In my case, I was given a prescription for glasses from my ophthalmologist in Mass and I brought it to IlluminEyes to be made. When I put them on my vision was still frustratingly blurry and I was now out the money for my initial eye exam and presumably for my new glasses which were useless. Amy immediately reassured me that I had a 90-day warranty on the glasses and that I should go back to my ophthalmologist in Mass and make sure I was given the correct prescription. Turns out, I was not given the correct prescription and Kristen very graciously took my new one and had my new glasses made and my unexpected problem was solved reassuringly, competently, and expeditiously, and at no additional cost. When an organization protects you on the downside then you only have an upside. This is why I will remain a client. read more

I love this place! After years of a pretty terrible experience at another eye doctor, I finally made the switch and couldn't be happier. Dr. Christopher Daldine diagnosed a chronic eye issue, walked me through the recovery process, outlined the steps if the treatment did not work and was caring but straight to the point through the whole process. He pretty much cured me with one try. I am truly grateful for his expertise. This is now my forever eye doctor and I would recommend this place to anyone. Wait times are about 5 or 10 minutes longer than expected but please note the doctors spend time with their patients. This is not an in and out one stop shop. they spend time, help to diagnose and make sure you know and understand everything before you leave. Best eye doctor ever. read more

Tldr; best experience I've ever had in an eye exam After my last experience at another local place my expectations were fairly low for eye docs. However, I found this practice to be prepared, efficient, kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Daldine handled my intense questioning with ease and is refreshingly skilled at his profession as was the tech who began the process. I did run into a hiccup in the process, which were handled quickly and skillfully when I brought it up. read more

Walked into the shop with a Rx (not from IlluminEyes) just to buy glasses, which I did. Kristen in the optical shop patiently helped me select frames/lenses. I picked up my glasses, but after a day something was off. I went back to the shop where Dr. Daldine checked the Rx against my existing glasses. They were off. The Rx I walked in with was wrong. I made an appt with Dr. Daldine who spent considerable time with me and issued me a new Rx. The new lenses were ordered at no cost to me. I went in to buy glasses and left with a new doctor and optical shop and I couldn't be happier. read more

I booked the 8:25am appt on Saturday morning. I completely forgot about it until the calendar reminder pinged me, so I ran over. I brought my glasses, thinking that I'd have to waste half my day waiting for the eye dilation to wear off. I lucked out - they have Optomap which means no more eye dilation drops! They had some problems with my insurance, but overall it was easy & quick. I wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

I went to Dr. Steadman for a second opinion; my previous eye doctor did not agree with me that my vision was changing. Dr. Steadman took the time to show me the slight differences, but took me for my word, which was a great change of pace. When picking out eyeglasses I didn't feel pressured or that someone was hovering. In fact, when I couldn't narrow my selection, two of the female employees were patient and helpful. If there was one thing I could change, it would be this: their hours were not very conducive to a 9-5er with an hour-long commute. I have been looking for an eye doctor and I wasn't quite sure who to try. I saw the reviews for Illumineyes on Yelp and I figured I should start with them. From the the moment I called and spoke to the receptionist, I knew that I had made the right decision. Everyone I encountered was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. I was a long time patient here and when I showed up with my daughter they said they would submit all the paperwork to the insurance and that I would have to pay up front. Well after 2 months I received nothing and dished out hundreds out of pocket. I called illumineyes to find out about the submittal. They said you have to work with your insurance. I call the insurance and they said they are out of network. This is such bad business not informing your customers that their insurance is not going to cover anything. I will not be going back and they have lost 3 customers over this. read more

My son has been wearing contact lenses for years and was fitted for a new type of lens at a competing optometrists office. This optometrist never told us there would be added difficulty taking these particular lenses out, and needless to say he was unable to remove these lenses from his eyes. I was driving by IlluminEyes and walked in to speak with their staff. They gave me plungers to take home and told me if we needed additional help to bring him in, at no charge!. We still could not get these lenses out and took them up on their offer to bring him in. I couldn't believe the level of service we were getting, and he wasn't even a patient in their practice! Kristin and Rebecca were godsends. They tried everything possible. They ended up giving me Doctor Chris Daldini's Cell Phone number and he was willing to meet us at his practice at 9:00 PM at night. Thankfully Doctor Daldini was able to get these contact lenses out. I was completely amazed at their level of customer care, for a non-patients. They really go above and beyond. read more

I'm so glad I went to Dr Steadman! He was kind, courteous, patient, an all around gentleman and terrific doctor! Upon examination he found that my prescription was too strong in both eyes which had been causing me major eye strain and pain. Kristin the optician was wonderful as well, she fixed my frames which were not adjusted properly gave me new nose pieces and was very informative and gracious during the process of selecting my lenses. Ana Paula who did my initial exam and Vanessa the receptionist were both extremely friendly, helpful, and detail oriented; they also worked with me keeping my financial situation in mind. The service was excellent. They were very kind about letting my kids wait in the waiting area with their books. They have a nice selection of glasses frames and my contacts brand was in stock so I could get some nice, new contacts right away (which I needed!). Dr. Steadman is EXTREMELY thorough. He does not cut any corners and will not rush you out of his office. I have had years of trouble getting contacts and he was very patient with me and was able to finally give me the advice and help I needed. I know can wear contacts and did not spend a lot in the process (my insurance does not cover contact lenses). I will be going to Steadman Eye Associates from now on and am glad I no longer have to search for the right Dr. Finally! I got into this place doing some searching on Internet for location and convenient hour and this place got it. Thursday is until 7:00 pm which is really good and are open on Saturday. The Eye Dr is really good and explained everything to me. The Staff are friendly and very professional. I do recommend this place. read more
