I am so thankful that he referred me to get a sleep study which confirmed I had sleep apnea. Most doctors would have looked at me, a thin female, and dismissed my symptoms. The good- The referral coordinator, here at this practice is 5-stars. She's often reacting to requests and questions and operates within her parameters to help you. I'm sure she could help you above and beyond if they had a Dr or NP on site who are comprehensive in their work to help guide her and patients. This type of clinic is good for basic prescription needs, routine care and referrals. If you are young and healthy and can't afford much for insurance, you will be fine here. The "collect your co-pay and refer you out" business model is a needed cog in the American health system. The bad- If you are getting to the life stage where medical care may be complicated, I recommend you find a clinic within a health system so your care can be coordinated quickly and someone may actually follow-up with you. There was no communication to me regarding my breast cancer diagnosis and next steps, even if the next step is to say their office is not equipped to handle care, and offer alternate Primary Care providers or health systems to contact. I asked for a call back or simply an email/message for next steps only to never receive one b/c somehow it's telehealth to follow up with a patient. As a clinic grounded in the neighborhood, I would expect them to help one navigate insurance or next best step since cancer care is clearly out of their skill range or to simply care enough to call in a timely way. I now see from radiology reports that potential need for follow-up care were sent to the office weeks before I received notices via USPS mail. I feel like getting to a diagnosis and now next steps have been delayed by the lack of communication and urgency from this office. When I confronted them and asked when they were going to call me, I got an acknowledgement they noticed I saw my results through their patient portal but more excuses on why the did not contact me. This seems against common sense best practices, especially after speaking to other doctors, NPs, and attorneys for healthcare systems. I am unsure to this day if they would have ever called with my biopsy results. Just noticing a patient saw their results does not guarantee a patient knows what to do next. I can't imagine what would happen to a patient, going through what I did, who may have zero friends in medical professions to help them know what's normal care and what their results mean. read more

Good luck even getting a hold of someone here: no one answers the phone. It takes me days of calling to even reach someone to request a prescription refill. On more than one occasion I've had to physically show up at the office to ask for a refill or lab results in person because I cannot get anyone on the phone (and yet, when I'm in the office, no one looks busy at all). Do you like getting text to confirm your appointment and when you go to your appointment the office is closed? Do you like seeing a NP instead of your doctor? I absolutely dread going here and am finding a new PCP ASAP. My PCP is mysteriously never in the office and I always have to see the awful NP who makes me feel like an inconvenience every time I go in. He's constantly asking me to buy medical equipment for personal use instead of just using the information he receives when I come in for appointments. I have been waiting on a referral to an ENT for WEEKS that they claim to have mailed, yet a referral for a dietician that I never asked for went through so fast the RD called my cell phone before I had barely left the doctor's office. I happily checked out the office of Michael Burton, which is in my neighborhood. And despite the physical office's dated and barebones interior and decor, it has been a happy discovery. Dr. Burton is a fine doctor. His office is non-responsive. Terrible. Rude, impolite, they take the longest lunches in all of Los Angeles (the office is almost never open when it says it is open) and even if they do set up an appointment, the doctor often isn't even there. Even for an annual physical, for the first meeting I had with the practice, when they promised I would see a doctor, I showed up - and there was no doctor in that day. The staff is incompetent. I came here for an annual physical under new health insurance, and I will never go back. I saw the nurse practitioner since the doctor was on a leave of absence, and the whole visit was awkward and uncomfortable. I waited two whole weeks for a call with blood work results, and never heard from them. Finally, I called the office myself, and they gave the results over the phone. So unprofessional. They also told me that the referrals I requested should've been mailed to me--which they weren't. When I asked for them to send it via email, they acted annoyed. Went in to see if I could have my ears cleared out, which is something I had done previously a couple years ago. $50 flat. This time, I asked how much for the procedure and couldn't be provided with an answer until the doctor had "examined" me as though I don't know myself whether I needed my ears cleared. The examination would be $80. I made sure that I understood the examination would be in addition to the actual procedure the price of which, again, could not be predetermined. No thank you. This place is absolutely disgusting! Dated offices, and at home equipment being used to take vitals and weight! Like literally they weighed me on a weight watchers step scale. On top of being gross they had the audacity to hit my with a huge bill claiming that I'm responsible for what my insurance doesn't cover. When I went to my insurance about it they said I didn't owe a thing yet I keep getting these bills. What a shady and gross little doctors office. I was also there for a physical for a total of maybe 15 minutes but they billed my insurance for all kinds of things they didn't do! Claiming I was there for over an hour. Avoid!!! PLUS! So this is my third attempt at finding a doctor in Los Angeles and it looks like I'll have to continue on my search. I chose Dr. Ware because I wanted to work with a female physician and I couldn't believe how lucky I was to find a doctor in walking distance of my house. I really needed an appointment to check up on abnormal cells I had from a previous pap. Probably TMI but I want to save you from my experience here.. When I called to make an appointment they told me Dr. Ware is only at this office 2 days a month! 2 days! That it belongs to her husband and she spends all of her time at a place next door called "Med Spa". Okay. So I picked one of the two days and asked when I could come in. They told me they only had morning appointments. I work in a school as a therapist so this was kind of a problem for me. However, I really didn't have time to change doctors so I told work I'd be out part of the day and booked the appt. When I got to the office there were several people waiting. I signed up on the list and saw there were a few people scheduled to have appointments after my scheduled time that had arrived earlier than I did. They saw them before me! I sat waiting for almost an hour before I was even taken into an exam room. The nurse weighed me and then asked why I had come in. I was surprised since I clarified I wanted a physical over the phone weeks ago! When I told her why I was there the nurse said I was not scheduled to get a physical and that there was no time for me to have one. Well, I couldn't help it and started to cry. I SKIPPED WORK. I had been waiting over an hour. And that's when I started raising my voice. Finally she told me I could have my pap smear and that the doctor would be in shortly. Not the case. I waited another hour sitting in a gown, freaking out because I really, really had to get back to work. My appointment was at 9 am and it was almost 11! I could hear Dr. Ware talking to another patient in the room next door. The walls were paper thin and I heard an overweight lady talk about not wanting to exercise and ask just about every single question she could have thought of. I really thought I was going to go insane. Finally Dr. Ware came in and asked me what I wanted. Seriously, it felt like that. I was terrified during the exam that another patient was probably next door, listening to every single word I said about my body/worries/etc. She did the pap but no breast exam. They didn't even do blood work. Worst exam I've ever had. The doctor told me to call the office in 10 days to see if anything was wrong. She told me I'd have to be my own advocate, but honestly what she was saying was "We don't call our patients when something is wrong." I was all ready to call back and make sure things were okay when I got a letter from my health insurance saying that Dr. Ware's referral for me to go to the gyno had been approved. Uh, what referral?!? All I could think was oh my god, my cells are abnormal and the office didn't even bother to tell me. Why else would I get a referral? I called back and the office told me that they had no information! This led to over a day of sheer panic. Finally they called me back and told me the referral was a mistake, everything is fine, my pap came back normal, etc. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They violate HIPAA regulations with their paper thin walls, the wait time is insane, the nurse was nasty, and the doctor is unprofessional. FAIL. read more

I went to Dr. Kathatorian because his office (Michael Burton MD) was in my current health plan and close by in Los Feliz. I was gaining weight, not sleeping, and many other issues that can come with grief after I lost my Dad. I wanted to get healthy and lose a bit of weight and he put me on a simple change of diet and eating habits that worked immediately and continues to work. He was very clear that I needed to get a handle on my diet and stress levels in natural ways - but he also prescribed high blood pressure medicine. As a patient of Dr. Burton's office for over 6 years, ive never had a bad experience. Like any office, its best that you call and set up an appointment, but they do also take walk ins. Ive done that a few times when i was really sick and the wait was roughly an hour or so. Dr. Burton's office is also open on Sat's which is rare for doctors. They do not have a parking garage / lot so you have to use metered parking. The staff, nurses, and docs have always been nice and courteous to me. The office is old school and the decor is simple with a few framed paintings and 8 - 10 seats. The doc's don't try to push meds in your face. My doc point blank told me to do some exercise and watch what i ate. I love the honesty and straight forwardness of the entire staff. read more

I sent them my insurance card 2 weeks before apt for approval. Showed up for apt and they said I can't see him at this office and will have to call my insurance. I was very upset because I had them pre-approve and had gotten a babysitter and taken time to get refills on my prescriptions. They said, "Don't worry! I don't understand these reviews. It's so different from my own experience here. I was actually assigned to Dr Burton's office by my HMO, I requested to switch to another doctor closer to my house, meanwhile the process was going through I went into Dr. Burton's office for an emergency visit. I immediately called my HMO and told them to switch me back to Michael Burton. The ladies here are super cool and all the doctors actually know what they are talking about. I deal with Annabelle the most, and she ALWAYS goes out of her way for me. She calls me promptly, unlike other front desk reps at other offices. Lisa and Anna are also super sweet. The doctors and their PA Sara are ALL EXPERIENCED, ALL KNOWLEDGABLE, and you are not rushed during your visit. Love this place! read more

I have been going here randomly for a few years ( probably a total of 3 times ). Every time I go I question myself as to WHY? The real reason I go is because it's really close and convenient . Well after today's visit I'm ABSOLUTELY DONE . Honestly the Doctor is the rudest person I've probably ever met . He is mean , cold and seems like he hates life . The *only* reason I'm giving this doctor's office two stars is because I do like Dr. Sanduram. However, everything else about this office is really annoying and disappointing. 1. You will wait a long time to see if the doctor regardless of your appointment time. 2. The staff is a joke. They're rude and pretty much clueless. (they don't know what doctor is yours, if they received a fax, if they've called the pharmacy...) 3. You will have to call them several times in one day to follow up with them regarding whether or not they've sent back your prescription refill to the pharmacy. 4. The doctor who works on Saturday, Dr. Hopscotch, or whatever his name is, is completely rude. 5. If you go here, you will eventually end up writing the angry letter about how you have to their job for them, and ultimately... 6.
