If you're rude to people to everyone except guests, would they ever make the choice to spend money at your establishment? Maybe a sign would help avoid this seemingly common and offensive occurrence of people in your parking lot and using your trash can, if you're that sensitive about it? (Note: the respondent was not present during the interaction and thus the response inaccurately portrays their behavior as professional and reasonable, which as multiple passengers can attest it was not.) -- Yikes, don't make the mistake of getting lost and turning around in their parking lot, the owner will come charging out and demand to know what you're doing with her trash bin and throw a fit that you threw away a dog waste bag in the "Dog Waste Here" bin since she "pays for her trash to be picked up" (as everyone does) and then when you apologize and remove the bag from the bin, she tells you angrily that you're trespassing. I get that 2020 has been rough for small business owners, but the owner seems to have a weird attitude for someone who works in hospitality.

Each of their floor plans are just a little bit different depending upon what you're looking for. I'm staying in Blue Spruce 1 and it's a lovely and spacious retreat for a honeymoon or getaway from the city. Very cozy and beautiful. Look at my photos and you'll understand why. I will note that almost every surface above 6' high is thickly coated with dust and cobwebs. Loss of a star.

The other problem is that we failed to bring snacks and then realized we were hungry at 11 pm. They didn't even have an olive bar, I could not believe it. Ridiculous. You see that mini fridge? If I were smarter, I could have had so many snacks in there. Instead, I insisted we try to walk and find something down the street, because this is Colorado and at the very least there is some bar food nearby within walking distance. Not at 11 pm. Nothing open, no one on the streets maybe some mountain lions, at least the bears were hibernating. We ate lunch at the restaurant down the street recommended by the front desk. Murphys closes at 9 pm. Delicious, I owe them a five star review. Ordered conservatively for some reason, but should have had leftovers on the mind. There is a happy hour at 530 pm with beer and maybe even some food, but we were enjoying the amenities of our room too much. So, this is a public service announcement, I suggest you bring food if your dietary needs involve late night snacking. Otherwise when you realize everything is closed, you'll wish you said you wanted breakfast at 8 am instead of 10 am and then your boyfriend will be unable to wait, has to go down the street and then you have four breakfasts by then. I'm not a high maintenance princess type so I do not expect a robe. I definitely don't expect it to be that soft. Since it had to be that soft, I got the idea there were supposed to be matching slippers hiding somewhere. I never found them. We plan to return in the near future, and bring some snacks and slippers. I'll tell you how that goes.

We stayed in the…read moreBoxelder room downstairs which is the closest to the outdoor hot tub (didn't use but still neat). The decor was so perfect-like modern southwestern rustic, not sure but I made notes for my own home. Bed comfy, shower hot, fire place inside the room a dream. In the room there is a mini fridge and water kettle, but just outside the room there is a sitting area and mini kitchenette with a microwave. There are a number of loungey gathering areas at the house, I think it would be perfect for a chill girls' weekend where you book out a few rooms. Everything was exactly as shown on the website and while we never met the owners in person, they were so accommodating with quick communication through text. Checking in and out was smooth. You will need to be ok with a flight of stairs to get in the front (and then down to the room if that's what you choose). The driveway is steep but the hosts put gravel on it if icy and our all wheel drive sedan did not have an issue. We spent one of our days at Breckenridge Nordic Center (loved) about an hour drive away. Don't sleep on their food offerings at JMH- we ordered a charcuterie board and wine to greet us at check in and a hikers pack lunch which we brought and ate on a break from skiing in Breck. So yummy-- The owners also put together a local recommendations manual and their recs for coffee and food in Evergreen were spot on. We would definitely choose JMH again!

The house is cozy, remote, and filled with spectacular vibes, courtesy of owners Alea and Ashley, who treat their guests like family. I booked a weekend staycation for my lady's birthday present back in November. Little did she know that I planned to propose to her here. On Friday night, I popped the question on the snowy, outdoor deck by the fire. It was perfect. She said yes, obviously! For that reason alone, Juniper Mountain House will always hold a special place in our hearts. However, let me touch on more specifics regarding the house. First things first, book online via their website if you can. You can also find them on Airbnb and other booking platforms. There are five rooms to choose from, we stayed in the Evergreen Room downstairs that has a beautiful view of the mountains. It's also worth noting that it was only a 30 minute drive from Denver! You arrive by driving up a lengthy driveway and starstruck by the most picturesque mountain home. We were greeted instantly by Alea, as she gave us the rundown and tour of the property with the house dog, Denali. Oh, they even have a hiking trail on site that leads to their wedding venue known as The Meadow. Yeah, this place is pretty damn dreamy. There are two common areas inside the house that are perfect for relaxing. Choose your adventure here by going on a hike, jumping in the hot tub, playing pool, sitting by the outdoor fire pit, or getting to know the other guests staying on site. Like any outstanding business, the people behind the scenes make it special. Ashley and Alea were a joy to talk to, so much so that they brought out a bottle of champagne when they heard about our engagement! Little touches like these, in addition to how they've thought about every minute detail of the house to make it functional and fashionable, made our stay absolutely perfect. I don't like to throw around that P word too often, but I can't think of a more perfect word to describe our experience here. Damnit, I used it again... Locals and travelers, Juniper Mountain House is a MUST.

Don't skip Cliff House if you're planning on a Red Rocks show. The location, amenities, staff and…read moreother offerings really added so much to my first time in Morrison. This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

Tip: Call to reserve late checkout at 1:30 for $30. First come first served. Otherwise checkout is at 11 AM. It was nice to enjoy coffee in the lodge after a late night concert. Worth it to take the shuttle (mini school bus with a couch and disco balls!) for $15/person to be dropped up at the top of Red Rocks - beats the long line walking up. $25/person pick up - approx 10 min walk but it's all downhill to the party bus and seemed way safer than all the taxi drivers in your face outside of the amphitheater. Brooks is awesome and takes care of you!! We stayed in the Rose Retreat again. It's a small room, but I love the big shower and mini fridge with Brita. The window air conditioning unit kept the place nice and cool with it being 95° outside. Private hot tub and robes in the closet. Breakfast is included. Order at check-in and enjoy the next morning. There is also fruit, bagels, coffee and tea, with alternative milk available. Bottomless mimosas available for a cost. We enjoyed a nice chess game with coffee after a delicious breakfast. Can't wait for the next visit!

And Sam Salter will always brag that, "he's been in the business for 30 years"!! I called to verify my emailed pre-approved 1:00pm early check in from weeks ago, (instead of the 3pm), when I arrived at the Idaho Springs, CO location. I was taken aback when he retorted angrily that I need to come back at 3pm because he would not allow me to check in at 1pm "because of Covid"! That was fine with me, but why did I get an OK email in the first place, I asked? Sam retorted, "I just emailed you that I need to check in at the designated time, don't you read your emails"? (which he probably sent while I was on the road). Then Sam proceeded to dare me, "You can cancel if you want to"! "Do you want me to cancel you"? I just said that "That's Ok, we will come back at 3pm then" So I came back at the designated time, knocked on the closed office. Somebody acknowledged, so I went in. I gave him my name, he looked for it in his database, and then asked for my CC. When Sam was about to get my card, He asked, "Have you been vaccinated"? I said 'No" With barefaced disdain, he immediately put on his mask! And ask with hostility: "Why aren't you vaccinated"? And proceeded to a condescending lecture, "You should be vaccinated, yada, yada, yada"! While I was signing my receipt, He asked me again, "why didn't I get vaccinated"? And when I enumerated my reasons, he cut me off in explaining why with, "THIS CONVERSATION IS OVER"! And told me "to GO, GET OUT OF THE OFFICE!"! And STAY AWAY FROM ME"! When I entered the dated room, "heavily scented" with an annoying cheap perfume! I noticed the visible filthy carpet with SERIOUS STAINS on it!! And said to myself, "This carpet has more COVID than anywhere else"! And the AC vents looks like it hasn't been cleaned for '30 years'! (wink wink) with hardened dirty smudges in between jalousies ! So are the comforters! And the pillows! They had musty human odors! I have to spray LYSOL Aerosol EVERYWHERE! (Good thing I brought my own pillow and towel!) You could tell when you enter a hotel room with intense perfume scent, they are hiding the ODOR! or something!! This was the MOST DISGUSTING and HUMILIATING encounter I had with a Hotelier!! SO, if you want to spare yourself from an ANGRY OLD, MISERABLE MAN's WRATH! STAY AWAY FROM COLUMBINE INN at IDAHO SPRINGS, Colorado!

The 3 Bedrooms are on the second floor, You walk up about 13 steps. Interesting the bedroom we had with a private bathroom, the shower is on a timer. My wife's morning shower came to an unanticipated stop when the shower water turned off automatically. I did okay with my shower time. Had a bit of a whoops with the suspended shower rod, a portion seperated, but I put it back together. Commodes are the classic commodes in terms of size. Originally this house was a single level home, I believe it became a "pop top" somewhere in the 1980's. Parking is in front of the House on Colorado Blvd. Retiring in the evening, the bedroom has a very warm feeling. If you wanted to stay in on a cold winter's night with a book to read, this is the place. Comforter was very enveloping and warm. You feel like you're back in the early to mid 1900's. The bedroom is a place to sleep, no TV or radio in the room, the TV is located in the common area. No closet in the bedroom. This house was built in 1895, and back then people didn't have closets like we have today. in fact they probably didn't have the amount of clothes that we have nowadays. We had 2 cell phones and 2 pads. The wifi hookup was quick and fast service. Didn't feel deprived, I was able to listen to some audio books and webinars were smooth and not choppy. If you want to attend church in the morning, the Catholic Church is literally across the street. just a 30 sec to 1 minute walk to attend. The other churches are within 5 minutes adjacent to the Catholic Church. All 3 churches are on Colorado Blvd. In the morning Vickie prepared a simple and filling breakfast. Egg omlet, hash browns, choice of juice, buttered toast with jam, coffee or tea. She enjoys conversation with her guests and we were just as pleased to engage in conversation with her. Vickie has owned this B&B since 2002 and also has family ties in Idaho Springs area. She is very knowledgable about the area. If you want a quick and nearby get-a-way from Denver, This is a great place to drive to. From where we live on the eastern plain it's just an hour drive. If you're on the west side of Denver, it's about 30mins. Idaho Springs is considered a bedroom community of Denver, and with enough activities to consider it a destination spot vs a drive through spot. Highly reccommend The Miners Pick B&B.

From the ceremony site options, to the bridal suite, to the dining area and the dance floor, we enjoyed all of the spaces this place has to offer. Our 108 guests loved the food, the drinks, and the views so much, they couldn't stop commenting all night on how beautiful and awesome this venue was. And our photos turned out incredible with the mountains, the river, the trees, and the outdoor lights. Dawn is responsive and helpful and she knows what she's doing! My one area of constructive criticism would be recommending that the venue provide a clearer timeline to the couples getting married. I typed my own up based on our meetings but the venue stated they'd send it a few times and never got around to it. Otherwise, I can't say enough WONDERFUL things about this spot. Hospitality is their jam. The rentable items like the arch and photo booth, the in-house decorations, and the food options are positively stunning.
