She has little to no charisma and a handshake that I imagine feels like putting your hand in a tightened clamp, however, none of that matters if she is a skilled and sensitive practitioner... Dr Barnes is neither. My first visit with her was an interesting experience to say the least. I left there soaking wet... literally, I had a wet bra that could be wrung out and I was wearing a dental bib. Her assistant had to get a towel to keep drying my face... she said her equipment was not working properly but she made no attempt to rectify the situation or offer me another room or to finish the procedure. The worst however was her lack of willingness and empathy to deal with a documented disability. The previous dentists of the practice... Dr Rod and Dr Pyser were wonderful and I certainly miss them terribly... in over 30 years I never had one bad experience or with the other specialist they referred me to. They always accomadated the few special needs I had. Dr Barnes has one way of doing things... her way. I am no longer a patient of Berkshire Dental Arts because while sitting in her chair, bib on, and a numb lip... she said she could not continue to treat me... she did not call me into her office, she did not ask my thoughts or opinion... she just walked out leaving me in a chair and did not finish the 5the appointment of 5. I would not recommend her to anyone... she is the most unprofessional dentist I have ever had and I'm 63 years old.

He also told me I needed a new retainer for some reason he did not explain. I was concerned with how quickly he jumped to tooth removal and how fast they had me at a sales desk trying to book everything. The process felt rushed and almost like I was on a conveyer belt to the payment department before I walked in. I made two second opinion appointments with local dentists the following week, and both told me getting my tooth removed was absurd. Each also told me it was ridiculous the dentist at Aspen hadn't cleaned the area around the infected tooth which is step one in any treatment plan. I also went to an orthodontist regarding my retainer, which Aspen said needed replacement despite not even having it at my appointment. They said my retainer was perfectly fine and there were no issues with it whatsoever. I'm now under the care of another dentist who says tooth removal is a last resort and does not believe I'm every going to get there. My advice is to: 1. Make sure you do have a local dentist so you do not need the services of Aspen. 2. If you do go to Aspen in an emergency and they suggest something serious, get a second opinion.

Im usually the person to dread both dentist and doctor visits... but I can genuinely say I enjoy the people and atmosphere here. Professionalism and punctuality are displayed throughout. After many visits, they have always been on time (which I'm sure isn't easy to do being the nature of the work) and gotten me in and out efficiently. The staff is warm and welcoming from the moment I've walked in, to the time I walk out the door. It's clean and well maintained inside and the atmosphere makes you feel at home. You can tell without a doubt that their technology is consistently up to date and they are all very knowledgeable, which makes me feel certain I'm at the right place. This establishment and everyone inside is deserving of an outstanding review. Thanks Dr.Messenger! I appreciate the great customer service, professionalism, straight forward help and hospitality I've been given time and time again! I'll be back! (But hopefully not too soon haha)

The receptionist here was WONDERFUL and after hearing my plea squeezed me in to see Dr. Gene Messenger the same day. Gene's dental assistant was professional and friendly. Everything about this practice is professional.

Two days prior to my appointment they told me to get authorization "from a doctor so that they can prescribe antibiotics". In desperation I called my primary care physician, who told me Crestal can prescribe antibiotics. I called Crestal back the next day, told them what the doctor said, and hey presto! All of a sudden they can prescribe - after wasting hours of my time. I am a schoolteacher. I *repeatedly* told Crestal not to call me during school hours. They called me EIGHT TIMES IN TWO DAYS, during school hours. Finally I made it plain to them - I have autistic students, students with no English, I am not permitted to make or receive calls during the school day, so STOP CALLING. The chirpy little twitch on the phone then told me, "Well then! If you won't talk with us when we want, this isn't the office for you, so now your appointment is cancelled!" and SLAMMED DOWN THE PHONE. They're snotty, disrespectful and generally unpleasant. I communicated all of this to my referring dentist, who was happy to refer me to another office. I called that new office and they told me that there should never have been an issue about things 15 years ago, or antibiotics, or any of it, it was all unnecessary. And they were polite, and scheduled me an appointment after school hours. SKIP CRESTAL, go somewhere else unless you like being disrespected and jerked around.

I literally couldn't eat or DRINK anything for two weeks and had extensive issues with the same for a mont. I lost 20 lbs as a result and was only 120 lbs when I went to see him. The graft, especially from the right of my pallet, has permanent nerve damage. I can feel where the graft was to this day and it was 2 years ago. The whole process was difficult and I didn't receive support on what to do with the issues I was having after. I was often not treated as a valued patient. I would seek out a different perio dentist. Before this, I had no fear or hesitation with dentists. Now I am definitely scared on any future work I may need.
