Dr. Kosins identified the problem which was an encapsulated breast implant and was able to have me scheduled for surgery the following week. I was very skeptical about undergoing surgery because I have severe sleep apnea and a vocal cord paralysis. Dr. Kosins provided me with words of reassurance, which gave me the confidence to move forward with the procedure. The surgery went forward without any complications, and my pain decreased significantly. Now it is totally gone. Dr. Kosins was very knowledgeable about complications with breast implants and handled the situation brilliantly. I am very pleased with my results. His office staff is also very friendly and professional. The post operative care provided by his staff was top notch. I would recommend Dr. Kosins to anyone who is considering undergoing breast surgery and anyone who is experiencing issues with breast implants. You couldn't find a better care team or be in better hands!

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the outcome of my breast augmentation and with the level of follow-up support afterward. I had surgery on May 5, 2025. Around 4-5 months post-op, I began noticing significant asymmetry developing. By the time I returned for my follow-up appointment in September, the issue had already become very noticeable. At this point, I developed capsular contracture on my left side, causing the breast to feel hard, tight, and unnatural. On the right side, the implant dropped significantly lower than the left, creating visible asymmetry and uneven nipple positioning. I also experienced poor scar healing around my right areola, with the scar remaining thick, raised, and persistently itchy nearly a year later. To be fair, Dr. Kosins did acknowledge the asymmetry during my September appointment, discussed revision options with me, and his office provided information regarding the Allergan warranty coverage. I understand capsular contracture is a known risk of breast augmentation surgery and not necessarily the result of negligence. However, what left me disappointed was the lack of continued follow-up and support afterward. After the initial discussion regarding revision options and warranty information, there was no further outreach, follow-up phone call, scheduling assistance for next steps, or even scheduling of my one-year post-op appointment/check-in. As a patient navigating an upsetting complication less than a year after surgery, that absence of communication left me feeling unsupported and alone in the process. I never expected perfection, and I understand complications can happen with any surgery. But when complications do occur, communication, reassurance, and aftercare matter just as much as the surgery itself. Patients deserve to know not only how successful outcomes are handled, but also how they are supported when results do not go as planned.

The procedure was significantly more painful than treatments I've since received elsewhere, and I experienced complications that no patient should have to endure, including permanent scarring and hypopigmentation. Rather than feeling cared for, I felt dismissed throughout the process. After switching providers, the difference was remarkable. My current clinic used modern equipment, explained every step of the treatment, prioritized my comfort, and has achieved better fading with far less trauma to my skin. Looking back, I sincerely wish I had gone somewhere else from the beginning. Tattoo removal is already a long process, and patients deserve a provider who combines technical skill with compassion. My breast surgery was considerably more complex. Although I frequently use Yelp as an insight tool to find exceptional service providers, I am sharing my first review on my experience with Dr. Mowlds because my experience has been so extraordinary and I believe that I would be doing my community a disservice if I didn't share the incredible work of Dr. Mowlds with others seeking results from a knowledgeable and caring provider. Office Experience: Over the years, I have appreciated the white glove treatment received from Dr. Mowlds and his assistant, Mallory. Communication regarding scheduling and post-op is seamless through Mallory, she is quick to respond and address requests (like scheduling or additional information regarding appointments). Unlike my experience with other medical providers, I am usually seen at my scheduled appointment time and never feel that Dr. Mowlds is rushed through my appointments as he takes the time to ensure that I am fully informed and all my questions are answered. Treatments: In early 2020, I started to receive treatment from Dr. Mowlds for preventative Botox. Many of my friends have experienced the dreaded upsell of injectables from providers as part of preventative Botox treatment, which is nothing like what I have experienced with this office. To the contrary, I've found the professionalism and knowledge of Dr. Mowlds to be exceptional and a demonstration of Dr. Mowlds' efforts to put the interests of the patient first. As an example, in 2021, I found that my Botox was fading more quickly than it had in the past and per the recommendation of Dr. Mowlds, switched to a different type of injectable ultimately leading to results that more closely met my expectations. I appreciated the knowledge that Dr. Mowdls had to share with me and rather than suggesting more frequent visits, Dr. Mowlds proposed a solution without significantly impacting my wallet or requiring more frequent office visits. In January of 2021, I started to notice an undesirable double chin that I found confusing because the scale was showing my lowest weight in the last 10 years. Many of my friends were turning to Kybella treatments to resolve a similar physical appearance but failed to see desired results. Dr. Mowlds provided very thorough medical counsel and explained that resolving the small amount of fat would likely not address my concern because of looser skin also contributing to the appearance. Under local anesthesia, Dr. Mowlds performed chin lipo and skin tightening. I had the procedure in the morning and was back in front of my laptop in the afternoon working, healing was super easy with minimal discomfort and Dr. Mowlds continued to be available post-op to address my questions. I appreciate that Dr. Mowlds took the time to listen to my concerns and recommended a treatment that provided me with my desired results. In 2022, I again experienced stellar results following a mastopexy and fat transfer. Dr. Mowlds' bedside manner and post-op follow-up provided for an exceptional experience with 110% satisfaction. I feel incredibly lucky that I turned to Dr. Mowlds for my plastic surgery needs in this case specifically because of his recommended treatment plan to address my concern. As a result of Dr. Mowlds' counsel, I chose to do the mastopexy and fat transfer before fully committing to implants and found that I was able to achieve my desired result without implants thereby achieving a much more natural look and avoiding having a foreign object and future maintenance of implants. Dr. Mowlds' recommendation of a phased approach was another example of Dr. Mowlds' unparalleled thoughtful approach to treatment. I don't typically write Yelp reviews, but after my experience with Dr. Mowlds I felt it was necessary. A friend of mine recommended I see Dr. Mowlds after her amazing experience. I don't live in Newport Beach, but after hearing what she had to say and seeing her amazing results, I made my appointment and booked a flight. When I arrived at the office, I was greeted by the most amazing staff. The entire staff was warm, friendly and professional. The moment I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. Having botox and filler done two weeks before my wedding made me a bit nervous. Risky, I know! Needless to say, I decided to move forward with the procedure and I could not be happier! During my visit, Dr. Mowlds was incredibly patient and listened attentively to my goals and understood my concerns. He immediately made me feel comfortable and I knew I could trust him. He took the time to discuss the different technique he was going to use for the procedure and why it would give me the best results for my wedding. He informed me on everything I needed to know throughout the whole process. Dr. Mowlds's expert technique delivered amazing results in a high pressure situation and I couldn't be happier. In May of this year, I had breast reconstructive surgery with Dr. Mowlds. In order to understand how amazing he is, I want to give you a brief overview of how I found myself in Dr. Mowlds' office. Over the past 3 years, I have had two previous surgeries by a surgeon in South Florida. Both times, after 4-5 months, I found myself having major issues including one breast moving up and one breast falling down. At the time, I was 21 and 22 years old so you can imagine how emotional and traumatic this was. Each time I had to wait months while my breasts continued to move in different directions and worsen. After this happened the 2nd time, my parents insisted on bringing me to California for a consultation with Dr. Mowlds. He was professional, confident, calming and reassuring that we could fix this once and for all for me. Today, 5 months later, I can barely talk about this without crying from once again feeling amazing and confident in shirts and bathing suits. Dr. Mowlds did an unbelievable job with a very complex surgery. The after-care was unlike anything I had experienced in the past. Plastic surgery can be a very difficult decision. However, Dr. Mowlds exceeded all my expectations. After an unexpected accident, my upper lip was almost all gone and the ER at that time put back what was left in jagged pieces. I am so happy that I chose Dr. Mowlds to put me back together. He is an absolutely remarkable surgeon and I could not be more satisfied with my surgery and the follow-up appointments. He is very knowledgeable and worked very hard preparing to remake my upper lip. He communicated with me in every step of the procedure and followed up after surgery to make sure I was healing properly. Dr. Mowlds is the absolute BEST at what he does. I had a botched breast augmentation, which was causing me serious health concerns, chronic chest and back pain. Dr. Mowlds is my go-to doctor for my tune ups. He doesn't push more Botox or fillers on you like I've experienced with other doctors. I'm a big believer that you should go to a trained plastic surgeon even for fillers, and I'm thankful I found Dr. Mowlds! I make the drive from Venice to Newport whenever I need to see him! Worth it! Also, I must note, that I was born with a cleft lip, leaving my top lip very unsymmetrical, and thanks for Dr. Mowlds he has helped me even my thin side out with fillers, leaving me feel more self confident and my cleft less noticeable. I just had the most AMAZING consultation with Dr. Mowlds and we settled on a new product called "newtox" or Juveaux! Dr. Mowlds was the most compassionate and informative doctor I've ever met. He explained the procedure thoroughly and answered all of my questions no matter how ridiculous! He is highly skilled and I didn't feel a thing! I've had Botox in the past, but this was quicker and far less uncomfortable, even in those sensitive spots! I would highly recommend Dr. Mowlds and honestly I can't wait to go back! Thank you Dr. Mowlds! For years I've been unable to breathe through my nose due to a bad deviated septum. It's been 3 weeks post rhinoplasty surgery and it's changed my life now being able to breath! I had zero pain and very minimal bruising post surgery and I had asked him about his process and approach. A piezo rhinoplasty he said is new form of rhinoplasty which avoids a hammer and chisel technique to reshape the nasal bones which is more precise, decreases brusing, reduces pain and boosts recovery time. As a beginning, I want to be honest about everything that happened to me and share my full…read moreexperience. In January, I had a labiaplasty performed by Dr. Deborah Ekstrom, MD. After the surgery, she prescribed pain medication (Oxycodone HCl IR 5 mg capsules) for five days. During that time, I had severe constipation and had to go to the ER. On March 3, I went back for a follow-up appointment. During that visit, Dr. Ekstrom also injected hyaluronic acid filler into my labia majora, which cost $1,600. Before the procedure, I asked the doctor if there were any negative side effects and how long the results would last. She told me there were no negative side effects and that the results would last a long time. However, the same day I started feeling something hard, like a small stone. The next day I felt itching and noticed redness. Day by day it became worse. The redness increased, the itching continued, and the area started to look uneven -- the left side looked larger than the right. On March 11, I texted the office manager, Jo Cattell. She was very kind and asked if I wanted to come in that day to see the doctor. I said yes. When I saw Dr. Ekstrom, I first showed her pictures of the redness. She said the pictures looked worse than what she was seeing in person. She also said the redness and swelling might be caused by using an ice pack. However, I do not believe this is the cause. After my labiaplasty surgery, I used ice packs and never had this problem. The symptoms started the same day after the filler injection. I also explained that it hurts when I go to the bathroom. I asked if the filler could be removed, but she told me she could not treat the area right now because it looked like an allergic reaction and that further treatment would cost additional money. She prescribed medication for me to pick up at the pharmacy. I am sharing my full experience because I do not want this to happen to another patient. I work hard for my money, and I do not want to waste it on something that made me feel worse. I do like the results of my labiaplasty, but I do not like the filler injection. It looks uneven and has caused discomfort and illness. If a procedure cannot be done safely, it is better to be honest with patients. People trust their doctors, and I was one of those patients. For fairness, I want to mention that the clinic was very clean. The drive time for me was 1 hour and 40 minutes. Also, two weeks after the surgery I initially left a five-star review. My advice to others is not to write a review until you have had the full experience. Finally, I went to the ER again on March 14, 2026 because my labia majora became worse, with severe itching and swelling. I could not sleep because of the discomfort. SO far post op the surgeries look mazing and i felt great after just a few days which is amazing since it was almost a 7 hour surgery. The two procedures I had were injuries I received through sports. The initial injury was a split above my eye from a head butt I received from a competition in Philadelphia. I flew home to make it within with 24 hours to receive treatment from Dr. Wirth, and so glad I did since the cut required 2 layers of stitches (I believe the muscular layer and the top skin layer). Had I gone to the ER for this procedure, I would have had a pretty bad result. I also recently underwent rhinoplasty after many years of sporting nose breaks. I had so much scar tissue in my nose that I could barely breathe out of it. Dr. Wirth was able to remove cartilage from one ear (thanks to his precision, likely would have needed 2 ears), and give structure back to my nose. I was recommended by a previous physician to see Doctor Park, he was very nice until he received my money. After Doctor Park received my payment he became a complete jerk! I was getting my blood work done for my surgery and my physician said I needed to bring up my iron levels up which Doctor Park did not agree with. Doctor Park is not for patient care at all! Doctor Park was upset that I reschedule my surgery from Jan to Feb and I honestly feel that he does not have a good patient bedside for anyone! Doctor Park has made this whole experience horrible. The comments he makes and the way he treats his patients he should not be practicing. After I had my surgery I have been depressed with the words and excuses he is telling me why he messed up. He told me my left side was messed up due to my scoliosis. I went out and immediately saw an orthopedist who had x-rays done and ruled out I did not have scoliosis. Now I have to go through another surgery for a revision of my left side. Very angry and upset. One of his responses he actually said to me was "your hooha looks great" to make matters worse. Follow up appointments to go see him he makes comments that makes me feel so bad to the point I dread seeing him.

I went to several consultations, but Dr. Brandon and his team truly stood out. They were incredibly caring, comforting, and always available to answer my questions--never making me feel rushed or overlooked. For my breast lift, Dr. Brandon recommended adding small implants to enhance the shape. I was hesitant at first, but now I couldn't be happier with the results. At the time, I was much more focused on my sagging tummy, but I have to say--my breasts now take first place! Dr. Brandon also encouraged me to lose an additional 10 pounds before surgery. After working so hard to lose weight already, I was hesitant, but once again, his recommendation proved to be the right one. It ultimately contributed to even better results than I had imagined for my tummy. Dr. Brandon, Karina, Nurse Jackie, Ashley, and Sara are all so professional, encouraging, and genuinely kind. It's refreshing to see such a cohesive and supportive medical team. Most of my visits were at the Fountain Valley office, which was already very impressive, but I was equally amazed by the Newport Beach location--both reflect the high standards of the entire team. I did experience a very minor issue over a weekend when the sutures under one breast opened slightly. My husband took photos and sent them to the office, and Dr. Richland promptly called to discuss the situation. By Monday morning, I was seen by Nurse Jackie. Thankfully, it was very minor and healed quickly with a little additional care. Because I am diabetic, my scars have taken a bit longer than usual to heal. However, they are thin and already fading to a very light pink. I expect that within a year, they will be white and nearly invisible. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience and results. I strongly encourage you NOT to go to Brandon Richland, MD for Breast Reconstructive Surgery…read more I consulted with Brandon Richland after Breast Cancer surgery for removal of implants and breast reconstruction. He was charming, presented as knowledgeable and I felt he understood what I wanted. Surgery went well and I was pleased with the results. I felt everything was fine until shortly after the drainage tubes were removed. I became very ill, had a high temp and felt like I had covid. I went to Richland's office, he took one look at me and immediately told me to walk over to ER. No one from his office offered to come with me nor did anyone check on me. In the ER an IV was started immediately and I stayed in ER until a room was available. My right breast was red, swollen, painful, and oozing from a tiny hole in the scar tissue. Not once did anyone from Richland's office check on me. I had an ultrasound which showed "fluid" in my breast, it was an abscess. The next day Richland came to my room numbed my breast and excised it. The infection came pouring out, it was disgusting and painful. The test results came back "MRSA light growth". Richland packed my breast and walked out of the room without saying a word. For 2 weeks I was in isolation, on Vancomycin IV trying to get the infection under control. Vancomycin is the heaviest antibiotic available and it is hard on your veins and harder on your body. The entire time I was in the hospital there was not one word from anyone at Richland's practice. Important note - my family was notified by the hospital of my illness and told "it does not look good". Where was my Dr? Finally I was discharged - with an open wound in my breast which I had to learn how to pack myself multiple times a day. After a few weeks the wound started to close. I called Richlands office and was told to come in so he could excise the wound once again. Richland said it was imperative that the wound close from the inside out. During the excision he took another sample from inside the wound. This result came back MRSA - HEAVY GROWTH. I immediately called the office and spoke with staff - Richland was busy - asked for a call back to discuss test results - Richland never returned one call. In total I left 4 messages and stopped in his office 3 times. All attempts to get an answer were, and still are, blatantly ignored. MRSA is no joke. People die from this infection and some lose limbs. To have a physician care so very little about his patient that he can't be bothered to have a conversation to explain these test results is unconscionable. It's important to note I was unable to finish my cancer treatment after leaving the hospital. To this day, there has been no conversation or explanation from Richland or anyone in his office.
