Rhinoplasty and septoplasty review: I have the nose of my dreams thanks to the skill and diligence of Dr. Ip. He recently performed a comprehensive rhino and septo combo on my nose. He fixed my deviated septum, removed my dorsal hump and gave me a perfect tip. He also made other adjustments to the slope of my nose. I have contemplated getting my nose redone for 10 years and I could not think of a better surgeon to go on this journey with. When I first met him, he intuitively guided me to the subtle adjustments that would aesthetically balance my face. He was at ease, relaxed and confident. I had consulted with other surgeons who told me that they would place dramatic cuts under my nose and even mentioned that I may need a revision as I have an ethic Indian nose. Big yikes. We always have to place trust in the surgeon's vision so it was a big decision. Combine that with the fact that you can't even gauge the result till two weeks after the procedure. During that period of suffering, you have to relinquish all anxiety and manifest that the results are there.Dr. Ip delivered on all counts. After surgery, I had bruising for about three days and was on liquids for 5 days. With diligent icing all day, the bruising was easily brought under control. The first three days are rough but I assure you that you will survive them. The biggest challenge was breathing through my mouth due to the congestion. If you take some Sudafed and drink water continuously, you will be fine. The pain is bearable and for me, I only took Tylenol. No prescription meds were needed. I stocked up on ample vitamin C rich foods and drank copious amounts of protein shakes. Also used facial cleansing wipes about three times a day and washed my hair salon style for about two weeks. Three weeks later, I have minimal swelling, breathing is better and I feel completely at peace. read more

Long overdue review for Dr. Ip. He was the first and only consultation I went to when looking to get a breast augmentation. It's always nerve wracking to talk about a surgical procedure, but Dr. Ip and his staff made me feel very comfortable throughout the process. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer any questions/concerns I had. He staff was very helpful in helping me select a size. She sent me photos of other girls with similar body types. I heard stories of other people's recovery process and how difficult it was. Mine was fairly easy and I was even able to run errands with my husband the day after. I didn't see any customer pictures of post procedure so I figured I would share mine. I tried to find patients' personal photos of his work before my surgery, but wasn't able to find too many at the time I was researching. However, rest assured because he is truly a master of his craft. Photos were taken 1-1.5 years after with 330cc size. This review has been over due. Dr. Steven is very professional, trustworthy and will answer any questions you may have. I took my mother in for a consultation as she had breast augmentation done approximately 11 years ago. She was concern that it had been over 10 yrs since her breast implants had been placed and it was time to be replaced. She is not having any issues but was told when placed that she would have to change them in the future. My mother had a prior consultation with another plastic surgeon 1 week prior to the appointment with Dr. Steven and was told she needed to change her implants. Long story short I told my mother to get another opinion since something in my gut told me that the surgeon she saw was not trustworthy. ( I also went to that consultation with her). The other surgeon was recommended by a friend of my mom. Needed to give a bit of back story so you could understand why I'm writing this review. We were brought in to the consultation room right away and greeted by Dr. Steven and he examined my mother and informed her that her replacement was elective since she has Saline breast implants. If she was happy with them there was no need to replace them ! I was so relieved since my mother is 70 years old. I did not want her to get surgery at her age since it can be more risky. I went in for a upper eyelid consultation. I wanted to get several consultations before choosing a surgeon even though its a minor surgery. I noticed the before/after pictures presented by his office focused on non-asian eyes which was a concern but wanted to meet directly with the doctor to get feedback. The first thing he asked is what I wanted then he let me know that I would get the best results from someone who specializes in asian eyelids, and he provided a referral. I had my breast revision surgery with Dr. Ip, 3 months ago and he is by far the BEST surgeon I've ever been to. As busy as I have been with helping my own clients, I had to take time today to post a review up on my experiences with Dr. Ip, Carrie, the team, and of course beautiful Sammy ( the ESA). Being older now I am wanting to get some help with Botox or filler here and there. I discovered Dr. Ip through a search of doctors in Newport Beach. I want to assure everyone that Dr. Ip is a doctor of integrity. I have gone to a few other doctors and they have told me I need filler. I decided to try a filler for the hollowness under my eyes. BIG MISTAKE! I will not mention that Doctor here as I know she meant well , but clearly she was not experienced in administering fillers for my Korean face. When I sought out Dr. Ip for another try at filler for the hollowness under my eyes, he was very honest and straightforward he did not recommend that for my Korean face. He clearly could of just pumped by face with filler and charged me the cost. But he practiced integrity and shared with him his recommendation. To find a man of integrity in life is challenging in itself, but to find a man of integrity who is a specialist as Dr. Ip is, is a rarity. Additionally, this past Monday I went to Dr. Ip to get 50 units of Botox. It is only day 2 and I am not at full results yet, but I feel very confident his work will be fabulous on my face. I had a double breast aug (with a lift on one side) done six weeks ago and I COULD NOT be happier. 5 Month ago I had a breast augmentation with Dr Ip. I never leave Yelp reviews but I gotta give credit when it's due. This is my story - I came the conclusion I was going to have breast augmentation done in 2019. I am a mother of 2 mid 30s & felt like my body was ruined after having the last baby. I would like to take a moment to thank Doctor Steven IP at the Hoag Orthopedic Institute. He recently performed surgery on me and did an exceptional job.
