Front office staff, and PA's top level care and bedside I would come back if they were the head staff!! Can't say more about them. The senior nurse staff and Dr Kaplan are very knowlagable but their bedside manner is terrible. They don't explain anything, very abrasive to patients and expect just a yes and if you question then they get annoyed and vocal. Not a relaxing environment after Dr Kaplan enters the room. Against nothing against their primary stuff or PAs I can't say enough good about them. The older staff seems very agitated with patients the doctor Kaplan seems annoyed with patients. I had my first sinus surgery 15 yrs ago, before we moved to Houston. On the way home I remember thinking, I hope this works because I am NEVER doing this again! I'm grateful for the commercial that aired during a commercial break for an NFL game. My husband paused the TV so I could see Dr. Kaplan explain how he helps people with sinus issues, like myself. I was grateful to book the appointment online for the next day. The online booking was great because I was able to fill out all of my paperwork beforehand, including insurance information. That was important because the office staff were able to have all of my potential out of pocket expenses listed in advance. The process was seamless from checking in, being examined by Dr. Kaplan himself, all testing needed was performed in the office that day. And Dr. Kaplan was transparent about all costs associated with my care. I was happy to book my sinus surgery under anesthesia for the following week. The initial process took less than 2 hours total. Which, being in healthcare and knowing how time consuming it can be to get a CT scan ordered and then done, or an allergy test ordered and then performed could take weeks. My surgery day experience was excellent. Checking in took place a few days in advance by confirming my information via email. All I needed to do was pay my out of pocket expenses. The nurse, Linda, greeted me and my driver and handed him post op instructions. I was taken to my procedure room on time. My anesthesiologist Dr. C, and the nurse anesthetists were comforting, jovial, and extremely professional. Dr. Kaplan joined my room as soon as my IV was in. I was made comfortable and drifted off to sleep. When I woke up I was gently escorted into a wheelchair and moved into a post surgical room to meet with Dr. Kaplan. He did a great job explaining what he did and what to expect. He also encouraged me to call him anytime if I have any questions/issues. I left the office breathing better than I walked in. Everything went well for me in answer to prayers. Dr. Kaplan performed the procedure while I was under anesthesia and I could breathe through my nose the same day and everyday since. My situation turned around like night and day. Prior to this I had to travel from out of state by car because I was too ill to fly... I was dying and needed a miracle because my CT scan in Las Vegas, NV showed total blockage and many other abnormalities. A different doctor said he was performing sinuplasty, but I got worse each day after he did the operation and suffered drastic complications that landed me in and out of the ER, hospitalized for a week and then on the road to the Houston Medical Center. Why? The doctor did a disappearing act when I tried to contact him about all of the adverse issues I was experiencing. Each time the answering service gave a different story and I was never able to see or hear from him again no matter what I tried. My husband and family prayed for the best doctor for the task and then they said the commercial aired for Kaplan Sinus Relief. My husband called in and got an appointment for me with Dr. Kaplan. I was seen three days later. He did a CT scan and reviewed it with me. He told me everything up front and said he could do the surgery in the morning. The anesthesiologist and nursing staff were amazing. Of course Dr. Kaplan performed the procedure and I am beyond grateful. If I had any concerns or questions I could send text messages to Dr. Kaplan at the number he provided. Sure enough, I did text him and he responded because he genuinely cares about his patients (that's the impression I got--it's how he made me feel). I believe all of this is miraculous. Before seeing Dr. Kaplan I hadn't slept since January 2025 and couldn't breathe out of my nose. My lungs had collapsed and I was given medication that caused adverse side effects that almost ended my life. Well, my case was not quite as simple as others I have read about. Read on and I'll explain. When I went to my initial appointment, every part of the clinic and all of the staff operated as a finely crafted watch. Every part working with maximum efficiency. I waited less than five minutes to be taken back for the staff to gather pertinent information. Immediately when that information was gathered, Dr. Kaplan came in and reviewed the information and asked me many follow up questions. Now, this is the point where I get anxious when going to an ENT's office. I've seen many doctors through the years and two ENT's had sterling reputations. The next thing that happened with other ENT's is they would drag out the dreaded endoscope and ram it down my nose and into my throat. At least that is how it seemed to me. Not so with Dr. Kaplan. He used a tiny instrument to look inside my nose and I never felt a thing. Then he took me to get a CT scan of my sinuses. The whole scan took less than five minutes. He took me through the scan results and carefully explained what was causing me problems. Dr. Kaplan explained my options and talked to me about the a procedure he recommended. I agreed that seemed to be the right decision. He asked me when I wanted to do it and I indicated the sooner the better. He said, "I can do it tomorrow at 12:30. Would that work for you?" Would that work? Of course it would! On that first appointment day, I was in and out of the clinic in one hour. Unbelievable considering I have waited that long--as you may have--after my scheduled appointment for the doctor to get around to me. In summary, I was carefully evaluated, had a CT scan and had my procedure scheduled. I believe my time is valuable and I appreciate Dr. Kaplan extending the courtesy of respecting me (and I feel sure all of his other patients) enough to realize that we don't want to spend unnecessary time waiting. Dr. Kaplan, and staff did an amazing job. Dr. Kaplan, is an outstanding surgeon. Later that evening, I developed some problems. I called him on his cell phone (a number he gives to all patients). He told me he would meet me at the office in 15 minutes. I think most physicians would have sent the complaining patient to the emergency room instead of giving up their evening (Friday evening at that) to go back to the office. When I arrived at the clinic, he was waiting at the door and escorted me to his office. I don't think there was anyone else in the building other than Dr. Kaplan, my wife, and me. He spent more than an hour addressing the issue and working with practiced efficiency. With every step of the procedure he explained what he was doing in detail and thankfully he was able to fix the problem. One thing that impressed me was that he treated me as though I was the only patient he had. When his work was done, he wanted me to wait with him in the office for a while (probably around thirty minutes) to verify that the problem was indeed taken care of. All of that happened on Friday night. Saturday morning he called me to see how I was doing. He told me not to hesitate to call him if I had any concerns and that he was available 24/7. I should have had my nasal problems addressed years ago. I'm just glad that I found Dr. Kaplan, and could finally get the relief that I needed. Thank you Dr. Kaplan. I hope this review helps someone. I had heard about Dr. Kaplan and was super excited to book an appointment for a consultation in June 2022. I called ahead of time to ask about co-pay, or how much out of pocket I'd be expected to pay, if any, for the consultation. The office had all of my information already, as I was able to conveniently fill that out electronically the day before at home. The staff told me it's "impossible" to know how much I'd have to pay out of pocket through my insurance, and it would depend on what is recommended. I thought that was a bit odd, as someone could have at least given me some basic figures or an estimation. Anyways, I showed up the next day for my appointment and was initially very impressed. It was very organized and I was seen quickly. I told everyone I was interested in the sinuplasty procedure, and they told me they first need to rule out allergies. I assumed this was just protocol and would have been told this days before when I called, but I went along with the full panel allergy test. The nurse was great and that went well, ruling out allergies for my sinus issues. I was then told I'd need a MRI of my sinuses from Dr. Kaplan. He called me back to the room and he showed me where the mucas was in my sinus cavities and how much he could help me with the surgery. He said "give me a second" and walked out of the room. He came back and said "what do you do for a living?" and I told him I'm a special education teacher. He then instantly changed demeanors and started talking about the price and how I can finance it if I want the procedure, but basically hinting that he knows it's out of my price range given my occupation. It was super off-putting to myself and the person with me at the appointment. Anyways, I ultimately understood that certain things cost money and I walked out to the front desk to check out. What happened next has bothered me for the last 11 months. I was told everything cost me $765. Again, I know things cost money but I had zero idea nor was informed even after trying to be proactive about it, that I'd have to pay almost $800 even with my insurance. I paid it, and just chalked it up as a learning experience and walked out the door, knowing I'll never be able to get the procedure (Which is fine, I'm an adult). However, 3 months later I got a bill for another $200. I tried calling and leaving a message, but nobody has called me back. I didn't even get a procedure done and paid X amount through my insurance, as well as $800 and they're asking for $200 more? They knew exactly what they were doing when I called prior to my appointment and they acted aloof and confused by my pricing questions. Be very cautious and be prepared for some very high charges that you don't expect if you're one of those who isn't close to meeting your deductible. read more

I called Dr. Kaplan and made my consultation appointment for January 19, at 10:00 AM. Upon my arrival his clinical staff was so helpful and great to work with. Everyone's attitude was upbeat and very positive. Dr. Kaplan came into the exam room and could tell I was having issues. Dr. Kaplan was great at putting my mind at ease, when we went to CT Scan to take x-rays, he was able to show me how many issues I had. WOW!! Was I surprised? After consultation, we went back to my exam room and discussed, procedure, insurance, and any concerns I had. He was able to schedule everything for me on Friday, January 22. I had a company vehicle drive me to my Friday morning appointment, I was early and nervous all at the same time, I was assured everything was going to go well, which put me at ease. Now here is something I've never had performed by any of my doctors. Dr. Kaplan called me personally over the weekend to see how I was doing, and if I needed anything to let him know. This shows me Platinum Customer/Patient Service!! a doctor who shows care and compassion for his patients. I would do it all again, this is coming from someone who has suffered chronic sinus issues for more than 30 plus years. I certainly wish I would have read the reviews before going to see this clown. I've been suffering from a post nasal drip and had seen his advertisement about the balloon procedure on tv (That probably should have been a red flag) so made an appointment to find out more about it. The front staff was very nice even the gentleman PA that escorted me to the room was very friendly. After a long wait in the room Dr Kaplan came in very rushed and spent 4 minutes MAX talking to me about my problem. I managed to catch him before he left to tell him I wanted to know about the balloon procedure he told me I had a high deductible (which I already knew of course) and I probably wouldn't be interested. I was in shock.... well of course I was interested that's why I went in to begin with. A doctor who has to pay to advertise.... isn't that great anyway. The best advertisement is word of mouth. If I could give a negative star I would. He charged my insurance for a procedure he did not perform. I have called my insurance company and reported the fraudulent charges. I have also called Dr. Kaplan's office and they are trying to tell me he performed a scope on me, trust me he did not do anything to me except a CT Scan and then offered to do my surgery for the remained of my deductible. Felt like such a scam, and it was! Ended up going to another doctor a week later to get treatment for the sinus infection that I had gone to see Dr. Kaplan about. She gave me a round of antibiotics and my problem was solved. Bottomline - go see any doctor other than Dr. Kaplan, he is a scam! read more

Makes the patient and family feel safe and secure throughout the entire procedure. The surgery was explained completely and concisely. Very professional throughout. We loved the anesthesia team who took such good care of my son. On the day of surgery we spent a total of 1.5 hours there. I had the balloon sinoplasty done a few months ago and I'm so thankful that I did it. I was am able to breath again and all is good in that aspect. What did concern me was the patient care. I spent more time with Dr. Kaplan's staff than Dr. Kaplan's himself. I felt like honestly like I was just a machine on an assembly line to him. I felt like there could have been more time to taken explain on all of the options. I wasn't aware of the out of pocket expense that would be incurred with my choice to be put under for the procedure until the DAY OF THE PROCEDURE. By that time it was too late to change my mind to have the procedure done while I was awake. I just received the bill for the anesthesia and it was $900 (after insurance). It looks like I was charged for two separate anesthesiologists, when in fact I only saw one. I have yet to contact Northwest Anesthesia & Pain to get an explanation for these charges. There are a lot of people in this city who do this procedure to just settle on who you go to see first. Do your homework, ask questions and if you feel like a machine in an assembly line, go somewhere you feel like a human. read more

Dr Kaplan was wonderful! I called on a Monday on a whim after having consulted with another location and had to cancel a previously scheduled surgery. They were able to fit me in for a Wednesday appointment for a consultation. Dr. Kaplan was very nice, knowledgeable and explained everything. He was able to get me scheduled for my surgery that Friday. My appointment was quick and easy. I showed up for my surgery and I was in and out in an hour. He personally called on Sunday to follow up. I'm not sure how many of you have had Docs call you personally to follow up. It's a very nice touch that shows how concerned the doctor is about his pts. He also is willing to work with his pts for any financial concerns as best he can. I am very glad I made the switch and went to him. I would do it all again. And this is coming from someone who has suffered chronic sinus issues for more than 20 years and a failed septoplasty procedure about as long ago as well. I always said I would never have another procedure done on my nose after that. I'm glad I had the balloon sinuplasty done. Do yourself a favor and go check him out. I took an Uber to the procedure and my uber driver had gone to him a couple of years before and had nothing but great things to say about him as well. read more

I want to post this message because I know this will benefit someone in desperate need. I have suffered from post nasal drip for 4 years now. When I went to see Dr. Kaplan I asked questions about the sinuplasty procedure, he did not explain the procedure instead he made jokes about it, thats when I should of walked out of this morrons office. Another question was, will this this procedure help me with my post nasal drip? His response it may or may not help you. Thats strike two I should of walked out. When a doctor gives a bullshit answer people its time to walk out. I decided to have the procedure done. I cannot stress this enough I do not recomend this procedure unless you are colgged and cannot breath this idiot should of said that. I was desperate and decided to have the. Weeks later after the surgery I kept comming back to follow up appointments. Everytime I went back for a follow up this piece of shit would see me and then walk out of the room because he had other patients waiting for xrays or other procedures. When he came back in the room he had already forgotton what he was there to talk me about. One day I just had enough and walked out of his fucken office. One more thing after everything was done I found out they charged my insurance company almost $50,000 dollars. I want to make people aware of this piece of shit. No only did he not help me with post nassal drip buy he made my sinuses worse because now im really sensitive to any bad odors or fumes. People be aware of this idiot and his practices. Dr. Kaplan is one of the most talented sinus surgeons in the country, specializing in office procedures done under local instead of having to go to the operating room and being put under general anesthesia. Dr. Kaplan is an outstanding surgeon and did an amazing job restoring my sinuses. Surgery is never pleasant, but his methods were about what you would expect going to the dentist. He is very confident, which is what you want in a Doctor. He will give it to you straight and keeps you informed. The balloon sinuplasty that he is an expert in is the best procedure to correct your sinus problems. One month after my surgery, my sinuses are completely open. I am sleeping better with less sinus pressure. Even food tastes better. My friend had traditional laser sinus surgery 6 months ago, and then went to see Dr. Kaplan because he still wasn't getting the relief that I was. I was very impressed with Dr. Kaplan and his staff. After being told by another physician that I required a more invasive procedure to treat my chronic sinusitis, I wanted a second opinion. During my consultation with Dr. Kaplan, he recommended the balloon sinuplasty. I had my procedure within a week, on a Friday morning, and was back at work Monday.
