Most screwed up dental business I have ever visited.. The main dentist filled my tooth last Wednesday with in a week I got severe pain , I sent several text about this no response. They are really good in text messages earlier as soon as I send about my pain and infection all Text messages stopped from the offcie. They themselves knew that they screwed my situation. .After so many unresponsive messages I called them . Christina at the front desk said oh you will need root canal. Please remember they have not seen me or checked me after the filling .When I asked the dr a week before on the day he filled he said i didn't need to do root canal . how come after he filled it with in a week I got infected and all of a sudden i need root canal. The ultimate issue is they didn't have the courtesy to refer me to an endodontist, I have sent messages asking to refer me to one no response even right now I have not got a endodontist reference from them. .. Good job DR you respond to the patients only when you need their insurance money when they have complaints or have infection after your procedure you just ignore all their text completely. People be ware of this dentist he is good to people who comes for regular cleaning and who has no pains if they screw you up then they just ignore all ur calls and text.. I woke up today with severe pain in a tooth. My regular dentist was out of town, so I called a friend and asked for a recommendation. She said that her dentist was Michael Klein. I called, and they gave me an appointment within an hour. Dr. Klein saw me and helped me. Dr. Klein is the best! I broke my tooth over the weekend and called his office hoping to reach someone. He called me back within the hour and scheduled me to come in quickly. With his state of the art equipment he was able to make a permanent crown for me on the spot. I walked out of there in about an hour with a new "tooth" and it looks great. I haven't had a regular dentist in a long time. When I lived on the east coast, I went to the local dental school to get work done when I needed it. After moving to the west coast, I got a Groupon for South Oceanside Dental group. I hadn't been to the dentist in a couple of years and my teeth were bothering me a bit, but I was still shocked to see the $4000 estimate they gave me! It included a root canal, several fillings and laser cleaning. I figured I should get a second opinion before forking out that kind of cash (no insurance). I saw the reviews for Dr. Klein here on Yelp and made an appointment. I saw Sonia and Dr. Klein for my first appointment. I had a full set of x-rays done (again) and a cleaning. Sonia did a great job on the cleaning and was very kind and professional. Turns out, I needed 1 filling. That's it. They said I could wait on the laser cleaning and if I did need it in the future, it would only be in one area and a lot cheaper than the price quoted by Oceanside Dental Group. I went back for the filling today and saw Dawn and Dr. Klein. Dawn is a sweetheart! So friendly! I had impressions taken for a night guard (I grind/clench my teeth at night) and bleaching trays as well. No pain at all with the injection or filling or tonight after the lidocaine wore off. I've been VERY happy so far and made an appointment today for my boyfriend. I think we've found our dentist! So glad because a good (and honest) one is so hard to find! read more

Needed an evening appointment or Saturday I called and made an appointment that was 2 months away!! Kinda bummed it wasn't sooner the receptionist said she would call me if there was any cancelations..... And she sure did! Called me 3 times with openings and finally the 3rd was at the right time!! I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Klein and his office and I am happy to give him and his office the best review possible. This is the place to go! I come from a family of dental professionals (stepdad is retired dentist; his wife, my mother, is a RDH, registered Dental Hygienist). I've grown up with the best care around and I know how hard it is to find a top notch practice. Well, look no further. When my family of five relocated to SD 10 years ago, we had to find a new dentist. Dr. Klein was a neighbor of mine so I decided to visit his office. Right from the start, I knew this was going be our one and only dentist for a very long time. Dr. Klein is professional and knowledgeable and honest. His staff, most of whom have been in this office for years (this is actually not very common like it once was), are equally professional. They all greet you and remember who you are and take time with each and every cleaning. There is never any "upsell" on products or procedures or inventing problem/cavities etc. that he can fix. In fact, between us five, we have had at least 50 cleanings here (2x year) and only one or two cavities as we have always made dental hygiene a priority while they did their part in maintaining our dental health. They typically keep you with the same professional hygienist so as to build a relationship and all five of us have our "own" although that can change from time to time depending on schedules and if you have to reschedule. Thus, we have all seen several hygienists and they are fantastic. You get almost a full hour of cleaning whereas most places try to cut you down to 30 minute time slots. Suffice it to say, THIS is the best practice around. Thank you, Dr. Klein. p.s. I was inspired to write this review after we stupidly bought a teeth whitening "kit" from New Smile Dental/Third Party provider (big mistake)...we had to get the kit through a dentist in La Jolla. I have been a patient of Dr Klein's for several years now. It seems as though they outperform themselves at each and every visit! I always leave there happy and singing their praises, so thought it was time to submit an official review. Staff are the best around! Genuine, caring, competent, friendly - I could go on and on. Sonia cleans my teeth and has the patience of an angel! I have TMJ so she inserts a bite block during cleaning, helping me to relax my jaw and not tire out quickly. She even pauses now and then for me to have a break. Dawn assists with my fillings and other dental work. She is super nice! When I see her every few months it's like catching up with an old friend. She makes suggestions and follows up with Dr Klein on anything you may have mentioned. She went above and beyond when I was having my teeth bleached to ensure I was 100% satisfied. Luba, the receptionist/scheduler, is a real sweetheart. Great person to have in the front. Always makes me feel welcomed. Dr Klein is knowledgable, does great work, and most importantly - he is honest and fair. I have been ripped off by dentists before and I am completely confident this would never happen here. There have been times he hasn't even charged me for things! He will NEVER try to sell you something you don't need. I usually owe little to nothing once the insurance processes my claim. Dr Klein has everything that is necessary for a successful business - good location, great office staff, reasonable pricing and quality work/service. I have been going here for 8 years but I found out what a true quality professional Dr. Klein and his team are when I broke a tooth late on a Friday night and then sent a text to Dr. Klein at 6am on a Saturday morning. He promptly returned my call and even though his Saturday schedule was full, he said come at the end of the day. He then stayed an additional two hours past his normal hours and diligently made me a great crown. He was not rushed and took his time like an artist crafting the crown. After 22 years with our previous dentist it was time for a change. My previous dentist wouldn't cover a crown that they did 3 years ago and said that since it wasn't more than 5 that my dental insurance also wouldn't cover it. My previous dentist charges $1,500 for a crown and insurance pays $1,200, so you have to cover an extra $300 out of pocket. So my wife found Dr Kline and they scheduled my crown in a quicker time frame than my previous and had my insurance cover it after all. Dr Kline is quite a bit different than my previous dentist in the fit of the crown. I didn't realize how much my previous dentist's work was inferior until Dr Kline fit my new crown. My old dentistpm always had me tap tap on a piece of marking paper and then he would grind the surface of the to to get it to fit. I suspect that my previous crown was too thin and that lead to its short life. Dr Kline's crown fit perfectly without any touch up grinding. So, quicker appointment, $300 less and better workmanship and an excellent staff . Highly recommend. read more

Dr Klein has been our family dentist for over 14 years and he literally feels like one of the family. Both he and his staff are extremely professional. He is extremely thorough and takes the time to properly explain every procedure that he does. He has never tried to push unnecessary dental work on us. When we had a family emergency that required us to get an immediate appointment with an endodontist before we hopped on a plane, he and his staff called around to secure us an appointment - even though his office was closed and he was away at a convention!!!! Dr Klein and his staff are amazing. I have always been happy with the care I have received there. My 14 year old son had 2 chipped front teeth. One tooth was broken in half. I recently went to Dr. Klein to have them repaired. In one visit both teeth were completely repaired. Dr Klein is a great dentist and exceptional at cosmetic dentistry. I came to Dr. Klein for a second opinion as I was told by another dentist I had 2 cavities and it was going to cost $450 to fill them. I have good dental insurance, however even with my insurance I was told I would still owe $450. I've never had any cavities and was surprised to find out that I had 2. I have no pain at all in my mouth either. I decided to go to Dr. Klein for a second opinion and am so glad I did. After looking at my x-rays and examining my teeth he told me my teeth look good and I have no cavities. He also said $450 was way more than it should cost with insurance for 2 cavities. Our family has been going to Dr. Klein for several years. What I value most about him and his dental assistants is the GREAT work they do and their high level of integrity. I have been to other dentists who have ripped me off and did unnecessary work. I never have to worry about that with Dr. Klein. Dr. Klein & staff deserve more then 5 stars! I have been seeing him for about 20 years now and will not go anywhere else. My six year old son got referred to a pediatric dentist (due to another insurance carrier) So, I brought dr Klein the X-rays for a second opinion. Open arms as always he told me the truth, what really needed to be done and that he would do so. So instead of my son getting six caps or crowns on baby teeth and having to be put under, dr. Klein filled the four cavities no problem what so ever! He's amazing and so is Dawnn, his assistant !!! My son also was a trooper dealing with the Novocain shots!
