Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - #41/100 I lucked out that I was in the area for Easter Sunday, got a purse for my mom with original price tag of $298 that I paid less than $103 after the 60% with additional 20% discounts and taxes. Ventura county only charges 7.25% sales tax as compared to LA county's dang near 10%. The employees here are so helpful and friendly. That's probably why one customer took advantage of a male employee by literally making him her shopping assistant. Piling on bags and stuff on his arms and having him follow her around while she was choosing her loot. You get the idea. I wouldn't really make the 100 mile drive but if I'm in the area I'll definitely stop by again.

Yes this is a picture of me holding up two large bags FILLED to the BRIM with MK accessories.

Me and my girlfriend are pretty big luxury brand buyers and I want to say we only go to the outlets if we know that Jessie Anne is working her shift at Michael Kors. If we come and don't see her we leave. If you're a regular Joe couple like my girl and I (and especially if you're a minority race like my girl and I) go see Jessie at MK, she will make a real effort to take care of you. Being a young couple, going to the outlets to buy hundreds of dollars of products at each store is usually pretty awful. Most salespeople think we don't have money because we dress down often and as a result are of little to no help. Maybe they are just paid minimum wage with no commission or something but Jessie made me feel like she cared about every sale so far. At most outlet stores the service is adequate at best with most salespeople, they will answer questions if approached but they won't actively help you look and curate the selection as they should. Before Jessie, I was expecting to write a pretty bad review of EVERY luxury accessory store at the outlets (and I still plan to) but Jessie deserves a 5 star review. This is what she does differently -she doesn't just introduce herself and let you wander. She actually asks what my goals are for my day's purchases and actively pitches different accessories and clothing that can fulfill my needs. -she readily quoted prices for every product BEFORE being asked to. Accounting for all discounts and promotions for each bag at the time. -she doesn't ONLY (she still pitches them and we still always get 1-2) pitch the low discount items that are overpriced. She knows we like stuff that's a good deal, and I bet if you are a different kind of buyer she would cater her recommendations to your liking as well. For me personally she pitches belt bags and backpacks. I complained that I think belt bags get dirty easily (and aren't water resistant enough) with my lifestyle and I typically replace them often because they are hard to clean. So she sold me 3 nylon belt bag/body bags at the same time that are waterproof and easy to clean (and at an amazing price). If one gets ruined I can easily replace it with a backup. Brilliant. -she actually knows the inventory, typically we walk in with vague descriptions of what we want based on what we see our friends wearing. And I mean vague at best. She instantly knows the item, we initially got Jessie as our salesperson because our original helper at MK got frustrated with us and just hid in the back. They probably thought we'd only buy one bag too. Their loss. -she doesn't walk away, she's always in the General are of my girlfriend. I also appreciate she caters more to my girlfriend than to me as the primary buyer. At most places salespeople assume I'm buying (probably because I look white, I'm not) and that is if they do try and help. Jessie has the balls to ask who is the shopper and directed her time and attention towards the primary shopper and didn't try and manipulate the person who is paying. As a fellow salesperson and someone who does a ton of luxury shopping I really appreciate this. -she knows our names. This is a big game changer, she instantly saw us and said "Hello Lucas, good to see you again KJ. What are we looking for today?" This one seems minor but from a sales point of view having your face recognized among the masses is great. Jessie if you read this, you're doing a great job. Honestly you have the skills to make it in luxury car sales, if you need a recommendation I know a few people that would love to hire you.

While a lot of manufacturers claim their shirts are iron-free, the reality tends to be somewhat different for most; with Brooks Brothers shirts you really and truly do NOT have to iron them! Despite the fact that this store is an outlet, customer service here is excellent; they fold, wrap, and bag everything just like in their regular retail stores. They obviously care about their customer's experience even though shopping here is about the least expensive way to buy their merchandise. Obviously, they sell a lot more than just iron-free shirts here, but I can't comment on what it's like buying the other merchandise in this particular store because shirts was all I bought :-)

We needed to find "dress up" clothes for a memorial back East. So many stores have closed in Santa Barbara that we hoped it would be worth driving to the Camarillo outlets to get a better selection. We started at Brooks Brothers and within minutes had exactly what we needed. I have come to dread the rote "Welcome In" phrase that most retail staff utter as I enter a store. What does that even mean? It always seems as though they're obligated to say it, and are quite bored by it. By contrast, from the first moment we stepped into the Brooks Brothers Outlet, we were approached by an authentically welcoming, competent, and helpful staff member. Angelina gently and cheerfully inquired about our needs, measured my partner's shoulders and sleeve length to get the correct fit, and ushered us to exactly the right shelf to find what we needed. No wandering around the store lost, no trying on three sizes to figure out if one will work, no wasted time. Just a pleasant and helpful encounter with someone who really knows her stuff and makes every customer feel like the most important person in the world. THANK YOU Brooks Brothers for keeping old-fashioned customer service values alive. You have restored my faith in American retail business. And THANK YOU Angelina for your excellent care and service.

Although those days are long gone, and many of the stores that made it "premium" are no longer here, it's better than most. There are still some good deals. It's also fairly large so you'll spend a decent amount of time walking through every section. We're usually shopping for something specific -- today it's jeans for the husband. But we always end up with more than planned. :) We browsed through many of the stores, spending much of our time at Lucky Brand, Levi's, Lululemon, adidas, The North Face and Ralph Lauren. We got the best deal on jeans at Levi's and surprisingly found a nice lightweight sweater for him at Lululemon. We like to grab a light snack or drink treat while we shop. Wetzel's Pretzels is a favorite but today we discovered that Boba Time has joined the outlets! Overall, it was a really nice day. I realized when we left that I missed going to Pottery Barn! We'll need to start on that side next time.

The lady from the Chinese place almost got me from her giving me sample of the orange chicken. The rest of the food hall is typical shopping center fare from pizza, Mediterranean, and cheese steaks. The food hall is smallish in relation to how much real estate these outlets have. Outside of the food hall on the property are Wetzel's Pretzels and Fatburger which has its own space for seating. In the early 2010s, I've visited Guess and purchased pairs of sandals. Was not really motivated to check them out. Did visit Nike, Adidas, and Puma. Puma was not busy and had pretty decent prices. Adidas was crazy busy especially with customers interested in FIFA World Cup gear from various countries. Nike was super busy too. If they had a TJ Maxx at this center, I would likely have found and purchased deals. The Regal Edwards movie theater is just a block away. Previous review! Overall these Outlets are A-OK!

SKRR-SKRR as I parked with a quickness. I scurry'd through the front door and much to my dismay, I couldn't find a single thing in my size. An associate asked if I needed help, to which I replied, "Where's the Men's section, all I see is women's wear?" She informed me that I was in the Women's Theory store and there was a seperate location for Men's just a short walk away. Now 'enlightened' I quickly skipped to the Men's store where I was happily greeted and informed by an associate named Robb (with 2 B's) that their New Year's Holiday sale was extended an additional week (unnatural yet gleefully appreciated)!! It's RARE to find THEORY on sale in general, let alone an OUTLET (already discounted), let alone an OUTLET with ADDITIONAL savings going on!! I was in a gentleman's dream and took advantage of the sale by pulling the trigger on a couple items. Oh did I mention they sometimes carry Common Projects shoes??
