A Hidden Gem! I was never really a fan of Marshall's--until I started working near this location. I decided to stop by a few times, and now I'm completely in love with it! I've found everything I've been looking for: skincare, hair care, clothes, kitchen supplies, and even bedroom and bathroom items. The best part? Everything is way cheaper than Amazon, Target, or Walmart! The store is well-organized, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I've truly enjoyed shopping here over the past few months. If there's one thing about me, I cannot resist stopping at a TJ Maxx or Marshalls if I see one. Gimme those deals!!! Like most Marshalls, this place is well stocked with goodies of all kinds. It feels a little crowded but I'm cool with doing a little work to score some low priced gems ;) I found this candle that has a painting of a cat on the lid that looks JUST like my cat! Like my fam thought I got it custom made of her. Such a fun find!! The girl who checked me out was super nice too. One of the nicest Marshall's I've been to, and it's fairly new -- having relocated from the Janns Marketplace. One key ingredient to a good shopping experience? Full shelves but not packed to the gored. It has wide aisles, making it unique compared to other locations that have the normal bump and grind, fighting for the last item, and then getting into a line to pay for 6 hours. Very clean, too. In the same center as Homegoods, it doesn't compare. However, it's worthy. Lots of parking, too! read more

Marshall's moved from the Janss Marketplace to Conejo Valley Plaza a couple years ago, taking over the former Sports Chalet space. I sometimes forget that it's here, but stopped in yesterday on a quest for stocking stuffers and last minute gifts. The store was still well-stocked in certain categories, with toys, cosmetics, home decor, and electronic accessories especially leading the pack. I almost bought a pair of leather booties, but left them behind to wander the rest of the store. Aisles were mostly clear, though tight in the clothing departments. There were quite a few shoppers in the store, but they were prepared with lots of cashiers to keep the checkout lines moving. Always a plus! As a silly aside, I love to crochet. Marshall's consistently has the best graphics on their $1.99 large reusable shopping bags. I use them for my crochet projects on the go. The weight is perfect, and the woven strap handles are practically indestructible. The only problem I occasionally have is the side stitching may start to come undone. I picked up two new cheerful bags, and will retire a couple that I've used thoroughly. I won't forget to stop by this newer location when in the area. The browsing is great! read more

I like shopping at all the TJ max , Marshals, Home Goods , HOWEVER, in that past several years since Covid they keep their temperature up high to pinch Pennie's . Every time I go there I literally come out of there sweating ! One time the line was a bit long and I almost passed out from no air circulation so I left my full cart and went home . I have written to the corporate office but they don't seem to care one bit . Very disappointed. I just have to remember to wear summer cloths when I go there . read more

I just tried on clothes and she told me to hang my clothes on the rack myself when I tried to hand it to her. she told me that those were the "rules" and then I could "take it or leave it." Rules?? I was trying to use my newly approved TJ max credit card but I did not have a physical copy. The manager Maria was called over to help and she refused to accept the payment. She said it was against company policy to accept the photo I've attached as payment even though I had my government ID as stated. I was left a little confused as to why she said that, considering I had just used the exact same photo at a local Tj max 10 minutes prior. The store is clean and has a lot of nice products and inventory. It's not ratchet like some of the others. I bought a dress here and they wouldn't let me return it with a receipt even for store credit because their clearance tag didn't match the item I was returning. Not my fault. Impressive selection clothing at great prices! Had no idea I would find the same label I saw at Nordy's for significantly less. Plus, the clothing racks are neat and arranged in an orderly fashion making it easy to find different the sizes. The dressing rooms are clean, the attendants helpful. Plus there's quite an assortment of other items as well, dog beds, linens, throw rugs, purses, packaged gourmet food, shoes, toys, costume jewelry, and more. Oh and the music overhead was being played at a respectable decibel level. Gotta love that! read more

This is a pretty average Marshall's store in the sleepy little Jann's Mall. I say that because it makes the store pretty nice to shop in - quiet and relatively clean because it's not a high-traffic place. The prices here are good and the fitting rooms are clean. Staff has been friendly all the times I've visited and there are check-out counters at both ends of the store (next to both entry/exit points). I've had to return merchandise here before and it's an easy process. If you don't have your receipt they'll give you store credit on a Marshall's gift card, which is also good at sister-stores like TJ Maxx. I don't come to Marshall's as often as some of their competitors, but their selection is fine and the quality of their merchandise is on par with other stores like this. read more

No wonder this place has only 1 other review. It is impossible to find! It is well hidden and the located at the back of this mall. The benefit is that it is clean, not crowded and there are a lot of attendants who are there to help (relatively speaking). I prefer Ross in general but Marshalls is a good option too. read more

My husband and I went to the Thousand Oaks location yesterday morning around 10 am to make a few returns. We waited in the line to be called. When cashier no.3 called we went there and said "Hi, how are you?" to the cashier (Leslie), but she didn't acknowledge us and kept talking to the next cashier. She didn't greet us at all. Anyway, I explained her that I needed to make a few returns and I passed her my return items. She looked at them for a good 2 mins and said "we don't take beauty items back". I have returned beauty items before and no one has ever told me that. So I was shocked and told her that I have done it before and other cashiers always take them back. She looked annoyed by it and replied me back with the really nasty attitude "I can't take it back". I understand that you don't take back used items but the items I was trying to return were all brand new with tags. She said there is no seal and she can't take it. I explained to her that when I bought it I got it that way, no seal whatsoever. She kept saying we don't take them back. My husband tried to explain to her that other cashiers have taken them back before and she replied to him "I am not taking it back, we don't even take the perfume back if it has been opened". We were not asking her to take it, we were just simply trying to explain that they took them before. At that point my husband told her to just process the other returns and not talk about it anymore just because we have to go soon. She processed the other returns meanwhile I was talking to my husband like how it's still new and I have never used it to let him know, she looked at me and said "if you don't want me to continue talking about this anymore, then you shouldn't continue talking about it." You can imagine how angry I was at this point because I wasn't talking to her, I was just talking to my husband and she basically told me to shut-up. It was like a slap in my face. We told her that we wanted to speak to the manager because of her unprofessional manner. She called the manager and told us to move to another counter if we want to speak to manager. Who asks the customer to move like that? Not to mention I will have to remove all my other return items that I have put on the counter for returns. I told her I can't go to the other counter as I have other returns to do and she replied "whatever" and waved her hand in the air like she is tired of it. She was rude, unprofessional, and had a really nasty attitude towards us for no reason. Finally the manager (Maria) came and apologized to us for what happened. She asked the other nice lady (cashier next to us, Tammy) to help us with the return. Both the manager Maria and Tammy were nice and professional. But Leslie was terribly rude. It makes me not want to shop here anymore. I don't think I will be coming back to this location until this issue has been resolved. I also want to suggest your cooperation that if you don't take back beauty items you should let the customer know at checkout and put a sign up in the beauty department. If I knew it, I wouldn't bring it back. Even on the website I don't see that you don't take back beauty items in your return policy. So I feel like she just made it up. I totally understand if there is no receipt, tags, or it has been used. But mine was completely new! I didn't even open it. I bought it as a gift for someone and decided to get something else for her. So I never opened it! On top of it, I strongly believe that it has something to do with me being Asian. Because of the way she treated me and my husband! I am so disappointed because I love to shop here and have spent thousands of dollars and never got treated that way. My husband and I love to shop at Marshall and home goods every week. Now I decided not to support your business anymore. I will make sure to spread my word to everyone I know too! Overall, your employees need improvement on customer service. Also your beauty department is really nasty and filled with opened Makeup packages. If you don't take back beauty items, make sure you are selling brand new/never opened items. Remove everything that has been opened from the shelves before it gets to the customers. I went to the store today to return a BCBG my husband bought for me earlier in the week. I was greeted by Sam K., i asked him if I can return the top. He pulled out ( cut out) the attached label and said that since he can cut the label he needs to make sure it is the correct label for that item!" It was the first time I hear this policy but waited there for him to go check. He cane back to say that the label is for a different item and that he needs to call the manager!!! A few minutes later the manager " Eileen B" came she looked at the item and the label and told me. This label is for a Michael Kors item and I will not take the top back. I was confused. My husband bought the item with that same label!!! Sam K was EXTREMELY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL... worst employee ever! Eileen as the manager did not explain the policy or try to explain- not that it would have made me feel better.. she through the top and label at me accusing me that I swiped labels.. This Marshall's was pretty good. It had a nice shoe selection and kitchen section. The clothing section was a little too tightly packed for me to feel like it would be doable to sift through. The line also took forever because there were people who were buying A LOT of stuff, like whole cart fulls of clothes - maybe since it is back to school time. There were two registers open and about seven people ahead of me which seemed like it should go pretty quickly but it didn't. I almost wished there was a "five items or less" type of line. read more

I was super impressed with this location! I'm so glad that they opened one right next to home goods. Haha that could be a good thing and a bad thing. I went on opening day so I already knew it was going to be super crowded, which it was. I found a couple of cute dresses and waited in line. It was super long but actually went by really fast. The Marshall's in Thousand Oaks is located at the Janss Market Place and is a great place to to find discounted clothing, apparel and household products. They sell brand name goods at a discount and you are very likely to find a bargain. I strongly recommend that if you see something you like or need, to not hesitate, as it may not be there the next time you come in. This location is very clean and well maintained. Other than having staff at the point of sale and in the fitting room area, I did not see any staff within the various departments of the store. The selection of clothing for Men's, Women's and Children is good and is separated by sizing rings making it easy to find your right fit. Today the check out line was quite busy and there were only two cashiers. The manager quickly noticed and opened up three more registers and expedited the backed up line. Our cashier was very friendly and our overall shopping experience was pleasant. read more

It's your typical Marshalls. They've got some items that you would find at Nordstrom's that are half the price. The store is usually clean and the customer service people are pretty nice. The Janns market place has also done a good job cleaning up the area and making it appealing to go to. Sometimes they lack in sizes of clothing, but I do enjoy stopping here to see what they have in stock. read more

Horrible store!! Outside of it being messy and items all over the place the customer service is horrible. I went in today on my lunch to purchase a candle like I do every 3 months I always printed a coupon off line and use it but this time a representative Sam told me he did not know how to apply the coupon. We had a brief conversation about how great their coupons are then he called another woman over to check how to enter the coupon she comes, walks away with my printed coupon comes back and says we don't accept it then walks away. I asked to speak with the manager, the manager comes over tells me the same thing. I explained to her that I use a coupon every time I come for candles and she tells me sorry. Then says they don't offer coupons which is odd since Sam and I had a convo about Marshall coupons!!! Then she states this one must have fallen through the cracks thanks for letting get know it's out there then walks away. I pay full price for the candle but ask Sam for the managers name which he refused to give me!! Then had the audacity to tell me to go ask her myself what her name is!! I told him this is ridiculous and he told me thank you!!! I'm pissed by this point and had to walk to the front to find this manager. Her name is Maria!!!! This store is everything you'd expect Marshall's to be. Clothes are sometimes messy and you'll find an occasional kid hiding in the racks, but sometimes there's a good deal to be had if you do a little digging. Check out can be a little slow depending when you shop. Staff could smile a little more, but working retail can drive anyone insane. read more
