The store itself was kind quiet since we got their early and it was already 86 degrees outside so I'm not sure how many people hit a outdoor outlet mall when it's 100 degrees but... Since I'm not familiar with VB's products I will have to rely on what my friend says when she says their prices are below what a regular store sells...which is always a good thing...check it out if you're a VB fan and in the area....

The Ann Taylor Factory Store is usually my first stop when I make my 45-minute drive to the Outlets. It's a fairly large store, which is always always nicely organized. As soon as I walk in, I head straight to the right side of the back of the store because that's where their clearance section is located. The clothes on clearance are organized by size and type - business casual is in one section and then there are more casual tops in a separate rack. There are also plenty of pants on clearance. I don't come here often, but the past three times I have visited, they would have additional discounts on top of the clearance prices! The last time I went on a Saturday afternoon, they informed me that there was an additional 40% off all purchases that day, and they handed me a small flyer with the prices of many of their items and how much they would cost with the additional discount. I thought that this was so helpful! As I was shopping and was holding numerous hangers of clothing, a friendly sales associate approached me and asked if she could get a fitting room started for me. I said sure, and she asked for my name, took the clothes I wanted to try, and saved a fitting room for me. Unlike some retail stores, they don't count the number of items you are trying or have a limit on how many items you can take in the fitting room. When I was ready to try the clothes on, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the associate had written my name on a white board on my fitting room door and had neatly hung the clothing inside. The associate smiled and told me that I should let her know if I needed assistance with anything. She was very sweet and I appreciated her excellent customer service! Overall, the Ann Taylor Factory Store gets 5 stars for their awesome deals for quality women's professional clothing, clean and organized environment, and friendly employees. I have never walked out of this store without buying anything because their petite-sized clothes (yay for the Petites section!) fit me so nicely and are affordable for the quality. And if you'd wanted another size from the fitting room, the sales staff had a difficult time finding it due to the disorganization. But there were several associates pacing the floor, mentioning the deals, handing out mesh bags to put your considerations in (even though that would get them all wrinkly...). To me, this is the opposite of customer service. They're working so hard to address you by your name and be your personal shopper that it comes across and insincere and desperate. Also, maybe it's just me, since I haven't done serious shopping in a while, but it seemed that many staples, such as button downs and tees were way overpriced, such that it was only the "early Labor Day sale" that made them reasonable. So that made me wonder if any of it was really a deal. If the employees would put half as much effort into organizing the merchandise as they did into upselling in the "wardrobing" area, I probably would have purchased much more than one pair of pants on clearance. It has a significant stock of bras, undies, t-shirts, fitness apparel, etc. They also have extended sizes like 52DDD. If you are a larger woman, call to make sure that they carry your size in stock before making the trip. So, I recently received my catalog for this store and decided that I needed to purchase some new undergarments. I decide that I should actually go to the store to check out the options, sizes and colors in person. I ask about the bra in question and it is available in the store. But here's the kicker, it is $33 in the store and 12.99 in the catalog. I verify this with my smartphone just to make sure it is the exact same bra. It is! While $33 is the regular price, you can get 40% off if you buy 3. Do the math people! This is not a good deal no matter how you slice it. Don't get caught up in the moment: Yes, they deliver impeccable customer service. Yes, if the item is not in the store, they will look it up and ship it to your home free, but you will still pay the exorbitant store price. It will still cost you way more than double what you would pay if you just order on-line and have those items shipped directly to you. Also, when you order a certain amount, the shipping is free. I have never paid for shipping because I always order three or four bras at a time, which I think is standard for most women. On the other hand, if price is not an issue and you just like shopping in person, then you will probably have a great experience here but don't plan on lunch because you will have NO money left. :) PS I was able to purchase 4 bras for approx. $52, (on line, in black which was not available in the store), and shipping was free with no minimum purchase required. All purchases made on line can be returned to the stores if necessary. WINNING!
