My wife and I have been seeing Dr Gomez for the past 3 or 4 years. Out of those years, I've only been to a cleaning once or twice and had a couple of teeth filled, oh and 2 crowns. I didn't do the twice yearly cleaning because I don't think about it and my job is crazy busy with hardly no time off. Yep, I had only seen him because my teeth were hurting. Well this time around, my teeth were bothering me last year and I had the teeth cleaned and Dr Gomez found the tooth that needed the crown, he advised me about my middle baby tooth that he thought was going to come out and maybe needing replacement with a bridge and I said "no", but he went ahead and did a casting on my teeth. Well a couple of days after my cleaning, lord and behold I bit a chicken bone and my middle tooth got loose and by the time I saw Dr Gomez to get my crown it still was loose. He said oh wow, "I got that cast mold" and he showed me and said this is how it would look with a bridge of your new tooth. I was like "yea" and he said "you want to take it out and get it for you in 2 weeks?" I said "No", I've never been without my tooth for 50 some years and had nightmares of losing it. Plus, I didn't have that kind of money, so I agreed with the office that I would come back in the beginning of the year so that my insurance would take care of some of the expense. Oh, for you people that are afraid of shots, drilling, pulling teeth, Dr Gomez is great! He calmly talks with you and makes sure that your not in pain, he lets you know you might feel a pinch, for instance with the shots which I hate is not bad, plus he places a topical anesthetic gel before he injects you, so for me I don't worry about seeing Dr Gomez for teeth work, plus while he works he's always conversing with his assistance to keep the patient calm, or you could listen to the background music which is my type of music. So anyways I think it took a little over 2 hours to remove my tooth and he replaced it with a temporary which didn't look bad, I was worried that I was going to be walking around toothless for 2 weeks. This process took a total of 3 visits in 6 weeks. Dr Gomes was able to answer every single question to my satisfaction. All his staff are excellent. I just wish he was in my network, I'm paying a premium but he's worth it. read more

I have the worst anxiety ever when it comes to dentists. As always I was very apprehensive and nervous and in tears. Everyone was sooo patient and understanding it was amazing!! The appointment wasn't rushed, they explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. Dr. Gomez discussed my options and we will be meeting again to decide the final treatment plan. I highly recommend Dr. Gomez especially to anyone who has fear of dentists. They are extremely understanding, patient, and will help you through every step. I had my teeth cleaned and received the best cleaning I have ever had. My hygienist was wonderful. I hadn't had my teeth cleaned in 5 or 6 years so they required a lot of attention. Not only was my hygienist professional, but she continually informed me of what procedure(s) she was performing. This is the first time a hygienist talked with me about how I would be feeling after my appointment. She provided me Sensodyne Repair toothpaste to ensure I minimized the pain. Best of all, when she was done I did not have any pain. My mouth was so from having to keep it open, but that lasted only a moment. I've had to go to the dentist so often, that I feel like Norm from "Cheers". I know everyone there by name. Dr. Gomez is the best dentist I've ever had for a few reasons. He's hilarious and makes being there comfortable, he does good work and is very honest, he's a perfectionist, and he cares. He deducts $20 from your bill every time he hurts you (just kidding). He's gentle and attentive. One time I had to call him about a dental emergency when he was out of state attending a dental conference. He was very accommodating and understanding and made sure I was seen and taken care of the very next day by a trusted referral. The office staff is very cool! Very disappointed. Recieved a call from collections informing me that I had a balance for a dental bill, even though I never received one statement or phone call. I went to the office to clear things up and they were very rude and unprofessional. I even talked to Dr. Gomez himself and he was very unprofessional as well. Having terrible gums much of my life, I have experienced many different hygenists. Some of them have even gotten me into trouble through lackluster cleanings. All I can say is if you're headed down that road of periodontal trouble STOP and go see Jason Crawley, the hygenist at Dr. Gomez's office. He is a magician. He can literally save you mucho dinero, time and pain with his aggressive cleanings and sage advice on how to turn things around. I had moved out of the area (San Jose) and had found a "new" hygenist there. My first visit she said "I can't help you. You need to see a periodontist, and you most likely need surgery and bone grafting." I quckly made a call to Dr. Gomez's office and got my tail to Santa Maria. Needless to say, I am NOT in need of any of the former! Jason pulled it off again! Thanks Jason, Dr. Gomez and all the staff. Where do I even begin?! I love Dr. Gomez and his staff! I grew up here in SM and have been seeing Dr. Gomez and Alma since I was a kid! Although, for an interim I started going to another dentist after I got married (my husband's family dentist), and the service was not the same. They were not always professional and even made me feel bad for a cavity issue that came out of nowhere (never had cavities as a kid and practically cut all sugar from my diet to no avail). I talked to my husband and he agreed to go to MY family dentist;-) I was SO happyyyyy to be back with Dr. Gomez! I was sorry I ever left, what a difference! He put me on a new regimen and my cavity problem has been subsiding ever since! My smile is very important to me so having new hope was a huge relief. He obviously is not complacent with his work and loves his job and is always on the cutting edge of technology and techniques. He is like family to me and trust me, he and his staff will make you feel the same. Dr. Gomez is kind, intelligent, has a great sense of humor and you will always walk out of the office learning something new. There is plenty of personality and great energy there to go around and they always keep it professional and have you in-and-out, highly organized.
