After initial exam, he provided 3 possible scenarios, 1 of which I anticipated. MRI confirmed portion of finger needed to be amputated and pathology confirmed osteomyelitis in portion removed. Surgery was done under a nerve block so no need for general anesthesia. Six stitches and a dressing later I was on my way home. Wound healed without issue. Dr Stein is very kind. He was very open and honest during initial exam. He asked lots of questions and answered the ones I had. He didn't push surgery but let's face it. If the problem existed for over a year , my physicians kept prescribing antibiotics and the finger had become misshapen, I knew surgery was the only option.

He showed my the x-rays, which show extensive damage. The surgery center and staff were great. I had no fears or concerns go into my first surgery or my second. They had my up and walking before I went home. Dr Kaiser's office staff was on the ball about getting me all the meds I needed before my surgery and after when I would run out. I meet with his PA-C Michael LeDoux after the surgery's and got the all clear. I am now 8 months out on my left knee and 3 months out on my right knee. I did PT for my left knee and I am doing PT for my right knee know, almost finished. I feel a 100% better then every. I have gotten my quality of life back. I am able to do more and more every day. I wouldn't change anything about my surgery or recovery. I just don't know why I waited so long!

I immediately felt at ease with both the location and visit. I saw Dr. Hughes at both the Ridgewood and Med Center locations. Both facilities were well-maintained and welcoming. I appreciated the time Dr. Hughes spent in answering my questions and I felt confident that he was prescribing the best care possible. I also appreciated his plan for not immediately recommending surgery and instead planned on taking new x-rays three weeks later to ensure recovery was progressing as expected. It would have been very easy to say "surgery is needed" as an easy way to get paid, so it made me feel I was truly being valued as a patient and with the best care in mind vs. making money off of me. After two follow-up visits with X-rays, he confirmed my foot was healing as expected and no surgery was needed. Now, 4 months post-injury, my foot is fully functional again and I know that wouldn't have been the case if I didn't trust my gut and get a second opinion from Dr. Hughes and TSAOG. Would absolutely use again if ever needed.

I worked with Renate Morris, PT, and I was very impressed with my initial evaluation. She really took the time to listen to my concerns, assess my ankle and foot movement, measure my range of motion in different directions, and analyze where I was having limitations. I especially appreciated that we actually started working on exercises during that very first appointment. I've had previous experiences with physical therapy where the initial visit felt like mostly talking and evaluating, so I appreciated how thorough and productive this appointment felt from day one. Scheduling in person was also very easy. The person who helped with scheduling was always extremely nice and accommodating. My only issue with scheduling is that calling the main office can be confusing if you don't already have the direct number, because I found myself getting routed to the wrong department. During my following appointments, I also worked with what I believe were physical therapist assistants, and everyone was very friendly. They introduced different exercises, gradually added weights and resistance, and I genuinely felt like I was getting stronger. I also appreciated that I would typically meet with the physical therapist again toward the end of my appointments to reassess my progress, introduce additional exercises, and provide handouts so I could continue working on things at home. Unfortunately, my sixth appointment was a completely different experience. Throughout that visit, I repeatedly felt forgotten while using the different exercise equipment. Timers would go off and continue going off while I waited for someone to come back or tell me what I was supposed to do next. Meanwhile, I could see a group of several staff members standing together talking and laughing. At first, I brushed it off. It was getting close to 4:00 PM, and I understand that everyone gets tired toward the end of the day. But when it continued happening from one exercise to the next, it became frustrating. Eventually, during my last exercise, I had to go find the physical therapist myself and explain that I didn't know where the person assisting me had gone and that I had been forgotten again. At that point, I was quickly shown one additional exercise, given a handout, and that was essentially the end of the appointment. It was disappointing because it was such a drastic difference from the level of attention and care I had received during my previous visits. I left feeling like I had wasted both my time and money, and more importantly, like I wasn't being properly attended to as a patient. I still have two appointments remaining that I can use, but after that experience, I'm genuinely debating whether I want to return. I don't want to wonder whether my next appointment will be like the first five, where I felt supported and actively involved in my recovery, or like the sixth, where I spent much of the appointment waiting to be remembered. There are absolutely good things about this physical therapy office, and my earlier experiences showed me that the team is capable of providing excellent, attentive care. I just wish my last visit had reflected the same standard, because it unfortunately changed what otherwise would have been a very positive review.
